I think the in stock ones are getting sold faster than the quantity updates. Not sure how shopping cart web design works, so only a theory. So that means he is having to build another hence, the lag time. I'm fine with the delays if I had known about it beforehand. If something says instock and you pay for 2-3 day shipping, 4 days not including weekends should be enough.

I will say that I am extremely happy with mine. Door is really a nice tight fit and it carries well in my pocket. And with the RM2, my vmods can't compete with it, although I carry a 2.0 for a flavor change up on occasion. I'll post a photo soon.

I just checked USPS again with my tracking number from Sept 4 just to see if there was any change in status.

Surprisingly, there has been. It now shows that the package left on the 27th and is scheduled for delivery tomorrow (I paid for 2 day shipping when I ordered). So, it looks like it took 3.5 weeks to take the device to the post office.

Still not pleased with the service (still have gotten no responses to email, voicemail, or facebook) but, much better now that I know the device is actually on its way.

Thanks a lot, .... this estimated period helps me a lot.

your mod was marked as "in stock"?

I've ordered mine 13-09-2013, ... marked as "in stock", ... should ship between 4th and 10th October, ....

Thx

no. mine was a custom order that was placed at the beginning of may.

order placed - early May
Shipping notification received - Sept 4
Package made it to the post office - Sept 27
item received - Oct 1

I can't speak to the timeline for those marked as "in stock"

I had a bogger box and thought the workmanship was just beautiful.

I think the owner / craftsman might do better to just hire a customer service person to do the "scut work" so that he can just create beautiful mods.

I imagine that, answering emails, phone calls, etc. could REALLY slow a small artisan craftsman down. I think that this is a business model that, in the rush of todays' biz world, has to be handled with kid gloves, as people want info, and they want stuff fast. Sounds to me like he got overwhelmed, and I do wonder how much profit is in this, after owning one, they really are so LOVELY the way they are put together.

Sounds like a mod for very very patient buyers. :) I don't know if that is a biz model that can survive in a world of walmarts, discount stores, Fasttech, etc.

Just saying this cuz I like to see mod makers like this in the biz.......these things can't really be *cranked out*.

(OI doubt robert at REO could do what he does now if he had stuck with doing a lot of wood mods. I don't think he could have provided the CS without some additional personnel. )

Anyway the bogger boxes are certainly beautiful and thoughtfully produced.

The last I heard of my box was that electronic shipping information was received 9/3/13, after the no more info.

I wish I had more info for you. keep checking the USPS tracking page... hopefully it will appear and the box will make it to the post office like mine did.

I agree with you that these are well constructed and beautiful mods. He also clearly either needs to hire someone to be the face of his business or hire someone to take boxes to the post office or take the time it takes to let customers know what is going on with their money.

I don't, however, think it is anywhere near OK to have these kinds of things happen and blow off replying to customers.

It isn't even the fast return for me personally (and I loathe walmart, fastech, etc.). I support mod makers that take time with their craft. I am more than happy to (and often do) buy from those that take their time and build something beautiful and functional. I have been on lists for months and months. I have paid for items and waited 6 months for them to ship. that isnt the issue.

My issue is expectations.

if you know you won't be (or dont like to or dont have time to) take the box to the post office for over a month, dont print the label.
if you know you wont be (or dont like to or dont have time to) answer the phone, dont have a number
if you know you wont be (or dont like to or dont have time to) reply to email, have that listed on the auto-reply

By operating a business that charges for expedited shipping, it is simply unprofessional and inexcusable to not put the box in the mail.

Now, if I had gotten an email that said something like "hey. sorry things are slower than expected. we are very busy. i will ship as soon as I am able" i would be much more ok with it. I wouldn't be thrilled but, I would be more OK.

once you ignore those that pay you and stop shipping what was purchased, you lose credibility. Regardless of the quality of these mods, I won't buy another. I would rather my money go to a mod maker that takes time with their product, builds beautiful mods, ships them when they say they will ship them, and answers the occasional email.

Edit - Racehorse - know that I am not picking a fight or trying to cause drama - I just don't completely agree. your points are valid and I absolutely am in favor of them being shared and you having them. I just see things differently... I love to see makers like this doing what they do as well but, there comes a time where you opened a business and need to run it as a business.

And, if there is an issue going on like a sickness in the family or a natural disaster or something else, tell us. You don't have to be specific - "There are some personal matters that need to be attended to and I apologize for delays" is plenty good enough. This is a great community with, overall, good people. More than anything, it's the radio silence that frustrates people.

Yeah, I appreciate this thread. I would love to have a DNA20 bottom feeder, and they are beautiful, but after reading he experiences here, I won't buy one. All of these customers' experiences are excellent examples of a business person who is either irresponsible or full of contempt for his customers. Guess I'll wait for a VW REO.

True. I was around when he started with a thread like this and a similar business model. Wood mods was the only thing he made prior to metal REOs. Im not an expert but wood CNC machines are not sophisticated to crank out mass wood mods. Quality wood mods is craftsmanship made by hand and takes time. He kept in constant touch with customers service and realize at some point no way he could keep up with demand and figured a 2nd line of product. I don't know Marcus situation...does he have a primary job? In any case the suggestions that he gets someone help with the business work would ease the tension and be a improvement. Rob hasn't sold a line of wood mods in a year so this wood mod business isn't easy and Marcus should get pass on only being able to pump out just a few at a time, having said that there doesn't seem to be any excuse for not staying in contact with his loyal customers.

I would like to personally apologize to anyone here that feels that I abandoned this thread in any way and to let you that we have not and will not abandon it. We have been working diligently on all of our mods including the new aluminum line we have and I would like to fill everyone in on how our order process works.

One of his last posts here, just the beginning of it, made 8/27, the last time he shows logged on. Pretty clear he's running behind schedule, which wouldn't be a problem, if he would give a better estimate on the completion time. I think his site originally said 2 months, but it's now changed to 40 business days, not including holidays. Sure, 40 is a bigger number than 2. October has 21 business days in it, not including Columbus Day and Halloween, being very generous, as those are business days for nearly everyone else. Point is, he used a bigger number, but with roughly the same conclusion.

Giving customers a shipping notice, then waiting a month to take it to the PO is bad practice. It shows that more than likely the product isn't ready to ship, but you lead them to believe it was.

Most people can be patient, when given an accurate timeline. 3-4 months seems more realistic from what I've read. Sometimes you do need to spend money to make money. Hire an employee or two. I was looking to purchase custom dna 20 in August, but came here and read first. You've lost a few benji's from me, the person 2 posts ago, and probably more. If you want our business, grow yours.

I'm still waiting

My order is still in processing status

1 month for "in stock" product is too much and no words from them

3 mails and 3 contact form sent and no answers

I'm going to cancel my order and ask them to refund me

This is the worst part, .... no word from them, .... it's not usual at any other shop,
