To celebrate Summer, I just put on a humongous pot of Ratatouille. It was either that or gazpacho, and ratatouille freezes beautifully and makes perfect leftovers over pasta.

For you dog owners out there: Is there any reason why I shouldn't give Sophie a bit of my ratatouille? I mean basically letting her lick the bowl. The only things I can think of that might be problematic are the tomatoes and the little bit of cayenne (about 1 tsp in 6 quarts of stew, lol). BTW, it's awesome! I finished it off with some pesto (I wanted fresh basil, but there was none to be had). Yes, 6 quarts. I did it in my crockpot and it cooked all day. Like I said, it freezes well.
Well, Sophie clearly enjoyed our supper. I'm thinking about finding her a black and white-striped shirt and beret, lol.

Hi Tipsters, Well I am finally home and doing really well. A few ups and downs along the way but you know me you can't hold down the Dragon Warrior. The new hip works great and I am using crutches to get upstairs and downstairs. Ralf is recovering and now back at work half days. We finally feel we are getting through everything. It's a relief to see a smile on Ralf's face again.
Now I just have to mend and then I can go back to work. I miss everyone.
Hope all is well in Trippyville.

Evening Tipsters, Thank you everyone. We are doing great. Today I made is downstairs on crutches with Meredith clapping at the bottom.
I have 17 stairs to go up and down and it's quite a site watching me.
Ralf is back working half days at work so we are just trying to support each other the best way we can. It's been hard but I feel we have made it. Now we just need time.
