Hi all. Hope your weekend's going well.
It's definitely been an interesting week. I got here just fine only to find out that I'd left the tackle box containing all of my supplies at home! Luckily, since I was attending a conference in Atl starting Thursday, I found a vape shop that had cartos and stuff to get me through. Coincidently I found out about a vaping show here next weekend: Vape-a-Palooza. Bert, I don't suppose you're attending?
The convention was the National meeting for the accounting fraternity I'm faculty advisor for. I took my kids out for dinner on Thursday and had the most interesting appetizer: something called Dixie Fries. Take French fries, cover them with melted cheddar and jack cheese, pour sausage gravy over and crumble bacon over the whole mess! They call it the Southern version of poutine. Thank God I'm a Southerner!

Reidus, in Cali we have carne asada fries. Crisp french fries smothered with nacho cheese, topped with carne asada, hot sauce and sour cream. It is a hot mess and it is so delicious. The best is about 45 miles away and I make sure I have customers to see 3 to 4 times a year down there :D

Sounds amazing Nick. Btw, several people were interested in my Darkstar; I passed on your info. I also scored some great juice: a bottle of Boba's and juice from 2 vendors I've never heard of: one from a company called P.O.E.T. that tastes just like a lemon meringue pie, and one called Dragons Breath by Mad Alchemist. It's raspberry and cinnamon red hots. I know it sounds weird but it's actually amazing.

Most will have the metal base from this point forward, but I promise to have some throwbacks to the all glass v1.0 from time to time as well!

Im gonna hold you to that promise because personally I think the old style were/are the best and I'm still waiting for some obsidian old school goodness! :p
Good night Tripsters

this whole metal base thing so does not work for my current want/need for itty bitty trippy tips. they add too much height, it looks like the metal base on top of the o-ring section is about the height of the o-ring section itself.
also, metal :( I like my all glass trippys. I fell in love with trippy tips 1st because they were all glass, finally no metal or acrylic tips.

I really hope the all glass throwbacks are frequent!

Good evening everyone. Has anyone here purchased a Trippy from the guy with the Trippy mother load on facebook? I see one that I must have.
Carson's a good guy, he is very busy though as he is responsible for managing 21 b&m stores. I believe he is currently abroad and I'm sure he will get back to you soon.
There are almost 400 vendors registered alreadt for ECC and vendor registration just opened 2 days ago.

Bert are you going to have a booth?
I'm heading there and will have a presence at the boulder vapor house Booth! :) I just made the decision today. As soon as I have more information I'll pass it along!

I'm not able to go there, but I have ALWAYS wanted to visit NO! I'll make it down that way one of these days.
Good evening Tripsters. Thanks Hz, but no his name is carson. Just wondered if he sold them online or not since he hasn't responded to my message.
I believe that some will be online, others will be sold in store. Carson promised to keep track of what goes where (there are 21 stores) so that they would be accessible to everyone.

De, have you tried the new v2's? The glass extends down in to the metal and we've tried to keep as much glass in the design as possible. That said if you just aren't digging them the classic TrippyTips will still make an occasional appearance.

Bert. What prompted the decision to scale back the classic TTs in favor of the new ones versus equal availability of both?

Believe me when I say I love the classic all glass design. The decision to move away from it in favor of the v2 was not one that I took lightly, and of course the TrippyTips team is here for all of you and will always take your opinions and ideas in to consideration in anything we create! The main reasons I decided to move towards the v2 include:

1) Durability - The mantra I heard from many people was that they love the design, function, and flavor, but would break a glass tip. Some of you know all to well the fragility that comes along with the many benefits of using a glass drip tip. Repairs are one of the things that I love being able to offer everyone, but they cost me a lot of time that I could be using to create new TrippyTips and cause an inconvenience to you since you have to wait for the repair to be done. Approximately 90% of repairs I received were for broken o-ring sections, which is one problem that is remedied by the metal base.

2) Airflow - Several collectors have approached me about their desire to have better airflow in their TrippyTip. I have attended several conventions this year, and after meeting some of you in person I was shown first hand the benefits of having a "Wide Bore" design. The new metal base has 150% of the width that the classic all glass design had at the base. This also improves the way that juice is able to flow through the TrippyTips if you like to drip without removing the tip from the atomizer.

3) Potential collaborations - As you know we LOVE working with other artists. The v2 design makes this easier for us, and I will be able to extend the opportunity for everyone to experience the artistic styles of many other artists. We did this to some extent with the classic all glass TrippyTips, but the v2 will take collaborations to a whole new level!

4) Loss during manufacturing - We are very good at what we do, including the process we use to make the classic TrippyTips. With that said there was still a lot of TrippyTips that didn't see the light of day because they didn't meet our strict standards of quality control. With the new process there is less loss during manufacturing :D

5) Signature and serialized special TrippyTips - Special TrippyTips will now come with serial numbers, and some will even have the signature of the artist that created it engraved on the base. This will allow artists to share more of their signature styles of work with you and further connect the artists and collectors.

The list goes on, and I'm sure that those that have tried the v2 can list some more of the benefits, but of course it is still as it always has been since the first TrippyTip was created. What we make depends almost entirely on what you want! For that reason I want to thank P/De for expressing their desire to continue to collect the classic TrippyTips!

I'm looking for some people to help me test out the new TrippyTips apps. You can find them by looking at TrippyTips.com on your mobile browser, or by searching the apple/android stores for "TrippyTips". For those of you willing to test out the app I will be able to offer you exclusive deals on purchases from TrippyTips.com, and an optimized experience on your mobile device!

Hi everyone.

I too would like you to continue with classic trippys.

My observation is probably because I have so many trippys is that a lot of times I can tell who created what tips just by looking at the pictures of the new ones before they are on the site. I also have found that I am drawn by certain artists' trippys for some reason.

I think I may have broken one trippy and it wasn't repair able. I know I have lost 2 trippys. One at the movies and one taking Ben the Dog for a walk around the block. I even circled the block 4 times looking for it but no dice. The one in the movies was one of the dark black ones and it fell between the seats and even when the movie was done I couldn't find it under the seat. My grandson's thought I was crazy when I got on my knees to look for it. :D

Off to bed I go.

Morning all. Hope your weekend's going well.
Bert, the show's in Atlanta, not NO, lol. I dream of the day we have a vape show in NO.
Here's my 2 cents on the v1 vs. v2 trippys: I've broken several trippys, mostly due to them falling on my tile floor. I've only had one base broken. However, I have had problems with inconsistent base size: I've had one or 2 tips that I just can't get into a carto no matter how what, where I have a couple that pop off it you look at them too hard, lol. If the metal bases provide more consistency then that's a good thing. The only things I have that I hate the look of the v2 on so far is my clean tank (the metal base just looks wrong on the all glass tank) and my HH357. That said, I can't wait for the next sale so I can get a v2 for my Russian (hint, hint). :D

I have not yet tried them. 2 reasons:
1- I've been leery to try them because of the metal. I have questions! Does it heat up? I don't want heated metal touching my lips, it really bugs me, so I worry that would be an issue with smaller tips. Does the glass separate from the metal easily? They look neat, but I just wonder how/if I'll like them in use.
2- I don't do call to shop shopping, it's a whacked out social anxiety thing where I don't really call anyone much unless I know the person (this making phone calls avoidance thing also makes my job interesting at times lol), and the wallet full to in stock on a website I can buy on thing has not matched up at all.

As for the app, I just found the app in the google store and sent it to my tablet (which has to charge lol) so I'll check it out as soon as I can. No go on my phone though, I have an ancient smart phone that's not compatible with much anymore, and the trippy app isn't compatible.

Great to see you De !!!!

The base on this one is 3/16" and the total length is 9/16"

Hiya Wharf! Good to see you too! I'm still lurking around :)
And thanks for that info!

I haven't tried the metal base yet, so I can't say whether I like them or not. I can say that I've never broken a tip (I knocked wood so as to not jinx myself). Personally, I would not like more airflow, and would not like to get juice in my mouth. I never drip, unless I'm testing out a new juice. At home, I use my bottom feeders almost exclusively. They're pretty juicy already, and even with some of the donuts, I get juice in my mouth. Yuck!

As Reid said, I also have at least one trippy that I can't fit into an atty cause the base is too big. I have several others where the base is too short and they pop out of the atty. I've been meaning to send these in for repair, but haven't had time as of yet. I also worry about changing other aspects of the tip in the repair process, because I love them in every other way except the tip is too short. These will only fit one oring.

I've installed the app. As a basic sales app, it seems to work fine. I'd like to see links to your facebook page and the trippy gallery though.

Back to the v2 debate, one of the things I like about the v2s is that they snap into place. They're easier to install; no more futzing around (while mumbling curse words under your breath) trying to get the tip into the hole. Of course, I'm working off of a sample of 1, so take my comments with a grain of salt, lol.

Thanks for the info Bert. I just hope the tip I want is still available when he gets back to me.

I have installed the app as well and looks good so far. I never use my phone to make purchases. But if it means a Trippy discount or perk, like frilly toothpicks, I'm for em.

As far as v2 vs classic trippys. I have not tried a v2 yet so have no input. But I miss there being more taller trippys in sales. It seems the average size has shrunk over time. So if the metal base adds length plus they are wider. I am all for them. I have had quite a few trippys and only ever broke one. But that was when I was still in the service. So I find it a testament to their strength that I have only ever broke one.

I have lost one of my favorites before and it was heartbreaking. I also still have my broken tip of almost 2 years because I am too lazy to send it in.

End longest post I have made in a long time.

De, only the base is metal. So unless you put the whole tip in your mouth (which brings up all sorts of images :D) your lips won't be touching metal.
