Willow, I feel for you. Tara's going through the change and she's put on 25 lbs in the last 6 months. Of course, she was about 10 lbs underweight to begin with, so she's not too terribly worried yet. I have no idea what a fitnesspal is, but a treadmill works well.
Well I got my glasses. Wow! I didn't realize how bad my vision was! Of course, I'm having trouble with focus, it's like my 2 eyes don't want to work together. They say it'll go away and in fact it is getting better already. I have to be careful standing up though, as I get a bit dizzy, lol. I drove home in my old glasses cause I didn't trust my depth perception. I'm taking Sophie for a walk in a bit; hopefully that will help.

Reidus I feel for Tara, I been there done that. Between the change, heart surgery, med's, no job (not able to work anymore) and being bored out ta my skull, yep that's what did it (plus I love food). Myfitnesspal is a website/program that helps to keep up with calories, exercise etc. I never wanted to count calories but I must to lose this. I did atkins years ago and loved it after the first 2 weeks but due to heart I am not able to do atkins again.
I feel for you too with the new glasses. It will get better though and quicker than you'd think. The eyes are little miracles that adapt quickly. One eye will compensate for the other. I wear the same type of glasses you just got and I love em.
Good Luck :)

Morning all. Hope your week's off to a great start!
Well, my magnets for my Nemy should be coming in today. I'm hopeful that they will help the crunchy switch. I also talked to the folks at my B&M; they can shorten the throw on it, which will hopefully also help. I gave it a good cleaning this weekend and it helped, a bit.

My magnets came in yesterday. However, since I was in meetings all damn day and class last night (yes it was a really long day), I didn't get a chance to change out the switch until this morning. Wow! What a difference it makes. I don't even think I need to get the throw shortened. That said, it's still a bit crunchy from time to time. But way better than before.

A little late, but congrats on the 4-year mark, Nick

lol, just got my first pair of progressives a couple months ago and I know exactly what you're talking about  Only took a few days to fully adjust, though

Oh man, I hear you guys with the glasses issue. I'm really hating that I need reading glasses now. And it was a huge PIA during my clinical rotation because I had to look at so many things close up. I would strain my eyes without my glasses. So I got to wearing them on the top of my head, so they'd be there when I need them. One day' they got caught in my hair. In the middle of the exam, the doc turned around looking for me and saw me at the mirror trying to untangle my glasses from my hair....he started laughing at me....one of my more geekier moments in my clinical rotation.....

Well I just had a lovely dinner. My neighbor gave a big bunch of basil out of his garden. (Sophie and I walk by his garden every morning; I love the smell of basil in the morning. :D). Anyway, I made a batch of pesto with it. I may lose my membership in La Societe Gastronomique, as I didn't have any pine nuts, so I substituted roasted peanuts, lol. It actually turned out just fine so I tossed some with some spaghetti, and had a green salad and garlic bread. Can you say carbs?
Enough food talk; any word on a sale?

Good morning everyone! The mornings are very cool here now, and it feels like fall is fast approaching. I also saw on the news that southern California is getting waves of epic proportions and the surfers are blissfully flocking to them. All together it makes me crave hitting the mountains for snowboarding season, and I think I will be making some fall/snowboarding inspired TrippyTips this week.

Speaking of California, who is getting excited and ready to roll out to ECC? I will be attending as a vendor at the same booth as Boulder Vapor House! I will have a plethora of new creations to share, and while I am away the other artists will continue to create goodies so that we can have a long awaited SALE when I return! Here are some of the designs that have been inspiring me over the past while...once I put the finishing touches on the new tips I'll post some pictures for you all!
