I'm being difficult here, sorry. But with my other hobby, I'm familiar with the benefits of 7075.

I'd rather have 7075 if the bead blasting will produce a similar finish.

How will that effect pricing? How will it effect finish?

Sent from my device.
The finish will be the same it will be an extra hundred bucks. I'm buying aluminum on Monday so to don't have to make the decision till tonight. The finish will look just as good as the other aluminum

So what is the benefit of one alloy over the other?

I looked and all i could see was that the 7075 was harder and more resistant to shear and elongation stresses, but we are talking 30 000 psi and i cannot impart that on a mod.

T
Exactly

Far stronger than conceivably necessary for no apparent reason.

So what would be the advantages and/or disadvantages of 7075 aluminum VS titanium? Going to be the same price.

for me, it was the finish w/contrast with the fresh mill around the squonk hole.

methinks ti might be a tad lighter. though, to say what benefits there would be, i believe we'd need to know what grade of Ti we're talking about.

i'm no metallurgist, though. Tbev should have better insight.

It's 6al-4v if you want to get technical. It's as good as it gets. (For those of you that haven't noticed, this is a recurring theme of mine.)

I'd say that it's anodizing abilities are what make it the coolest. It just looks awesome, as far as everything else goes it's really overkill...but who doesn't like overkill...? :^P

Overkill rocks! Saw them in concert the day before I started college. Although the lead singer did try to hit on my girlfriend after the show, lol.

So was the 7075 aluminum difficult enough that you don't want to do them anymore? For those not up on there aluminum alloys 7075 is stronger than stainless but lighter and a better conductor. Way different than the standard 6160 that everyone else uses. This should be bulletproof.... Literally.

What heat treat on the 7075? O? T451? T6? T73?

As to bullet proof... I've got some pics of 7075-T6 with enemy bullet holes.

How much for the machining is I supply the metal?
(feel free to PM a response)

I might still have access to a block 7075-T6, maybe even 7050-T7451.
You'd need what, 5" x 3" x 1"?
You'd end up paying more, the shipping will get ya.. I can get anything you'd want, if you want 7075, No problem, but I'm not accepting anymore send ins.

Do you want an 18650 or a 26650?
