Tom, what would cause the 200 to only charge to 98% no matter how long it's charged?

That's typical of LiPo charging circuits. It's bad for the battery to continue charging after 100% and it's bad to keep topping them off at 99.8%.
So the circuit has some hysteresis in it, letting the state of charge drop a few percent before it tops off again. I assume the dna circuit will turn on and top off at some point.

You just missed when it hit 100% and it dropped down after.
Disconnect it. reconnect and give it a few minutes. You should see it hit 100%

Cell phones cheat and continue to display 100% when in this mode. Then when you remove the external power you often see a 5-10% drop immediately when the OS check the current state of charge. If you then attach power it'll charge to 100% again in a few minutes. (this is part of the "bump charge" stuff you can find for getting the max charge in the battery).
Your Smartphone’s Battery Gauge is Lying to You (and it’s not such a bad thing)

The watt/hr setting may be set a touch too high, I have one that does the same thing. It can be adjusted in escribe if it bothers you or if left alone it won't cause any issues.

found it on intaste ..seems it has the same deck as the Cyclone
I just went and took some pics. You wasted a good 10 mins of my life. So you will get pics. Did not take deck pics because I have a coil in there and it is the same deck as a Cyclone.

No.... I will post the screen names on the next doc as I start them. Until you see your screen name sit tight.
Whoops! Sorry Tom, I was so excited to see the list open up I sent payment the following Monday. [emoji16]

Shouldn't matter. The charge level is based on battery voltage.
That's why chargers pulse, they stop charging to measure the battery voltage and calculate the current state of charge.

I'd have to look at the dna documentation, but I expect the capacity setting is used to display state of charge in other forms (like remaining power). It could use it for health monitoring.

Not exactly on the dna200. When I made the predecessor to,the LBC I toyed around with the idea of having a jst port on the inside of the juice door so I could charge at 3a direct to the battery; it worked great but I just couldn't find a way to implement it with out it looking cobbled together. I used that mod daily for 6 months or more. What I discovered was when I would charge with the external charger nearly every time I charge via the jst port the battery would read about 60% on a fully charged pack. It would take about a half hour before it figured out someone charged the battery when it wasn't looking. (Lol) it measures the current coming into the board as well as the voltage of each cell when it sees conflicting info it will default to the lower value. I asked evolv about it and they explained pretty much the same. If you want to read what they had to say it's on the evolv 200 forum. Search my posts, screen name Chowderhead72. As I recall that was last August. Maybe I should try that again, my soldering skills as well as equipment have increased drastically since then. Great.. Another project.

Look here:
See post 12 (John and Brandon are Evolv) Brandon is the guy that comes up with the concepts, John is the electronics mastermind that makes it happen.

Daisy chaining a jst connector? - Evolv DNA Forum

Remember this guy? See the jst port above the battery?

So,you sent a check 6 days ago? Is it in with one of your lbc's? Otherwise we have an issue..... I haven't seen it.

I think so, too. I sold mine. I'm too much of a 22mm vaper. And DLH as well.

The Divo is awesome IF you are into that sort of thing. Tight draw, off the charts flavor, not really my bag either. I like volume and density, the Divo handles the density no problem but doesn't do volume like I would need. I see posts on Facebook daily about the Divo and just found a pile of them in stock.

I'm actually thinking about dusting off the cam-r concept for,the DNA75. Shrink it down for an 18650 and make the bottle chamber accessible from the front via the door and bring the squonk hole all the way around. Ambidextrous. Hoping to be able to do,it in stainless with a stab/hybrid door.

It would look similar to an Evo but wouldn't be fragile like an evo. Actually more like an evo, a moonraker, and an LBC rolled up in one.

I shall explore that forum some...

That's a very unusual system as described and would hinder swapping batteries/using external charges.

And I'm not a fan of integrated chargers. I hate having cell phones that I can't have a spare battery charged independently.

The other mods predate me [emoji1]
