This one looks interesting, though a bit pricey...
Mose' RDA by MCM Mods Philippines - The Serial Vapist

I'm looking at it from my phone. They try too hard to make the pic artistic that it's too dark to make out anything. And it does seem that anything coming out of the Philippines is way too high. All the atties I really love were all under $100, except the Stumpy.

Yeah, it looks a bit tall for my liking, & bit on the pricey side. Have you seen the Ziggs rda? It looks like a flavor machine, & is a bit more economically feasible

I did see that. Curious how they direct the air with that angled ramp. One concern I have is the holes for the wires. Look a little small, especially if you're building dual coil. I think if it were converted to bottom feed, you'd be hard pressed to oversquonk with that 10mm deep juice well!

They look of decent enough size to me

Anyone got any advice on a single coil build for the Maker? Perhaps there's a thread somewhere but I haven't managed to find it. Thanks in advance and sorry if this is not the right place to ask. (Although it has been BF'd by the main man!)

2.5mm ;)

That looks interesting. Easy enough to wick? I guess the air hits that nicely?

Tried a couple of Z-coils and wasn't all that impressed. Wicking is fairly easy once you get the technique down. Roll and fold, then pull through ( from the bottom) using a pair of needle nosed tweezers and than split the wick legs with scissors and tuck them to each side leaving the juice port fully exposed. Looks tougher in print than it really is...:)

Edit: Leave the flat top haircut for last.

Thanks, I´ll give that a go. Tried the Z coils without too much success, others seem to make them work ok but I failed. What wire and Ohms is that build?

Pretty sure that one is a 26g N80 to 0.5. Don't like to run cinnamon spice juices too low.

Sounds like you need another LBC! :D
I love my Lbc but it's an at home mod for me , I would destroy it at my job and it's too damn gorgeous for that. I use my tmod and halycon for work. I was actually kinda shocked she took it as she's not a squonker at all she's an istick tottlepuffer most of the time so I'm assuming she was running late and just grabbed one of my many mods sitting around the house[emoji12]

for anyone having issues with the maker here's a little advice. 2 things to do to make the flavor pop.

#1 is, tilt the coil between the posts so it's really like a Z in-between the posts with wick off to each side, 2,5mm works better for this than 3mm+. you want to make an air path to reach under the coil, not just drag air over top of the wick and above the top of the coil. having the coil centered between the posts in a H configuration doesn't allow you to extract flavor from the coil, especially if the coil is so big that you can't turn it a bit to a Z configuration

#2, raise that coil up way high, again you want to allow air to pass under and around the coil, not just dragged over the top

make a clear path for air to hit the side of the coil, not sucking air into your wick...

here are a few shots, dramatic difference from this and some of the pics I see in this thread, if you're sucking air right into the wicks it's going to suck, you want to suck air into the side of the coil and have airflow all around the coil, raising it closer to th drip tip outlet also reduces the effective chamber size

With that being said, there is a reason I went with a vert. The maker is unique in the way it draws air. Rather than pulling air directly from the chamber, the cap is machined so that it leaves an air gap completely around the curb of the deck. Even though the intakes are placed on the top of the lower cap, the air is drawn by encircling the coil or coils. For my tastes, the vert just makes more sense.

As always YMMV.

I was a big vert guy back in da tank days,

the only tanks I used back then were bottom air kayfun style RTAs, all coiled vertical, with hemp fiber wicking on the outside of the coil, so the air would be drawn through the coil instead of around it.

Best flavor setup for tanks, but I haven't used a tank in over two years
