I was leery of the Lipo before I ordered my LBC, however, now it is one of the main reasons that it goes with me all day, every day. I feel so much more freedom, not having to worry about carrying around a charged battery. It lasts all day anyway and if it is a really heavy vape day, I am always near a mini-usb, so no worries.

I will get one of Tom's smaller, lipos whenever they come out and whenever they get a name......hehe

So hey, my refitted MyMod arrived, along with a Ch-O-Atty HD.
Thanks, Tom!!

Gotta say.... it's better....

NO COMPLAINTS at all about the work - just my (at-the-moment) feeling about the products.

MyMod -
- funny how I wouldn't use it, didn't feel safe, back when it had a fuse, but all's fine now that it's a true mech. LOL.
- The 510 of course is why - this one actually has an insulator.
- But it doesn't feel as rock-solid as, say the reverse-thread adjustables. Am I misunderstand the 510 pin, or can it turn down when you tighten an atty?
- And it's still just a little funky the way the bottle fits
- And I figure if I dropped this, little parts might fly off in different directions. I'm mostly using reos and coppervapes - if I drop those, I worry about the atty.

O-atty
- definite improvement over the stupid little flat plates, but personally, I still feel an O-atty is a PITA to build.
- It's just tricky to get wires captured, and Tom's right, you gotta then shove the coil deep, which is hard to do without deforming - can't keep a rod in while going lower than the deck edge...

You know what's kicking it's ...? A Catfished Maker.
I was almost gonna sell that - then realized, "I never gave it a shot with my USUAL build - I kept experimenting with stuff". So I popped in my Kanthal duals at about 0.45 ohms - and for over a week it's been blowing sweet, thick, flavor.

Tidbit - That O-atty stock drip tip is pretty restrictive. You know what's a pretty good match for the draw (full open)?
A classic! That's a Loki router on there.

THANKS, TOM!!

The 510 is adjustable on the MM retrofit but it is a manual adjust, I would have loved to made it automatic but I didn't have the room for the actual spring.

As to the bottle I agree completely although an Italian 8.5ml feels a little better as it takes up more of the space but still allows the door to close.

I have Loki Routers on all of my O-attys, Ch-O-attys, Nardas and Ch-Nardas. I'm actually looking for about 5 more plain ss routers if you wish to sell or trade any. (That goes for everyone). Please don't make me order a bunch of Odin clones just for the tips.

Well, I'm in for whichever new mod format you decide on, but as for preferences, I'd love to see the jr and the trap side by side, so holding out for the vid you speak of.

The bat issues with the jr are not an issue for me as I've always got a stash of them nearby when I vape and these days 40W is just about the sweet spot for me.
As soon as the trap comes back I will post side by side pics of the LBC, the LBC jr, and the trap. I have a pic of,the 3D rendering of,the trap all smoothed out. I'm currently battling photobucket's password system with little luck and the screen shots are way too big to post using ECF's system. I'm working on it.

Is a lipo version of the LBC Jr an option? That's what I've been waiting for.
No... the battery in the LBC is 25mm wide. I can make you a dna75 LBC but it would be the same exact size as the LBC and it would have the same exact battery life as the LBC minus about 5% due to up-regulating inefficiencies. This would result in a 2850mah @ 90c battery (3 cell parallel configuration). This would be a great mod with awesome run time. The Trapezoid mod uses a 1850 100c 1s configuration plus it uses a full sized bottle and is tiny in comparison. The optimum which may come later would be a 3s 1850 dna250 which would have the same profile as the Trapezoid but be 14mm thicker; we'll see how the dna75 single cell works out first though. I love it but you may not.

Oh Tom, you are truly a devil to my pocketbook. I was seriously "done" looking for any new mods. Now you show me the Trap which addresses the only thing that I would like to see in a new LBC, the form factor. The Trapezoid looks like it will fit nicely in hand and still retain all of the signature Catfish qualities. The LBC is a tough, rugged, reliable workhorse, that was well thought out and straight forward in it's design. It was built to go long and hard. It's form factor is therefore, it's only trade-off. Now, if the Trapezoid can address the form factor and still keep as much of the other qualities of the LBC, then we will have quite the duo. A bruiser that will go all day and one that is more compact but might need a mid-day top off. Both, however, being grab and go mods due to the lipo batteries. Win-Win. Crap, I really didn't need another mod but I think I just sold myself on this one. ARRGGHH!!!!

When do you want my $$$?
I'm hoping to be able to get this one into high gear after the holidays; it seems like machinists much like government workers don't do Shiite from December 1 through January 15th.

To be honest I'm missing the little fella. Harry still has it, it's been rendered but now it needs to blueprinted which is going to be hard due to all of the angles and the fact that I'm insisting on the bodies having 2 sets of mounts (dna75 and dna60) so once they are finished I have the ability to mill off the un-needed mounts based on the board used.

And yes the carbon fiber will be smoothed out a lot; especially the squonk hole so it flows a little better with the design. I'm also considering doing the door and bezel in milled titanium instead of carbon. I do have a fetish for bead blasted titanium.

How about interchangeable panels? Asking too much? CF panels for me.
Once I get away from the 1/32" inlay of the LBC the sky is the limit. Imagine black with neon blue stabilized wood panels? If I make the panels 2mm thick instead of the 1.5mm panels of the LBC I can do all sorts of crazy stuff. The LBC needed either carbon fiber or titanium due to the 1.5 mm plates. 2mm means slightly bulging stab wood, flushed stainless, flush Ti, Damascus, ti-mascus etc....
