However, I have seen my fair share of responsible , mature vapers blowin it up in the checkout lines of Walmart and publix grocery store with their egos.....

Really??? They can do that there? I've never seen anyone vaping in a store here. They wouldn't dare do that in the Walmart or Publix here. There were a few bars that allowed vaping for a while, until the ANTZ got busy on them. Now there are only a couple left that allow vaping but they also allow smoking. The VFW bars and Eagles Club are cool and there's one tiki hut style place south of us. I've never seen anyone cloud chasing in them.

Vaslovic...I agree 100%. The Atlanta area has many b&M's and more are opening everyday. We've hosted some fairly large vape meets in Atlanta. The vaping scene is fairly established here, to say the least. You'd think I would've witnessed some of these rude, obnoxious, arrogant public cloud chaser punks clearing a restaurant or a bus stop by now. I've been reading about them on here everyday for the last year. Yet, they continue to elude me.....
So far, this small set of thrill seekers hides in vape shops, vape meets or in their own homes. I haven't been able to pinpoint the times when they take it to the streets to annoy innocent bystanders and single handedly "ruin vaping for everyone else". But I know they're doing it....because I read it on ECF.

Of course if we've not seen it with our own eyes, it's just not happening.

If it was so widespread, and causing such a huge outcry, don't you think we would? At the very least, those of us in urban areas? In this day and age of cell phone cams?

There should be someone crucified for blowing clouds every day! Still...never seen it. Not one single time. Ever.

I agree! I'm also a fellow Georgia vaper and the only place I've seen people blowing obnoxiously large clouds of vapor is at B&M's. 99% of the vapers I see are carrying ego's.

I think all of those clouds are clouding the real issue.......... and peoples judgement sometimes as well.

Puns intended. :toast:

To many of us, vaping has been a miracle that finally got us off cigarettes after trying everything else on the market with no success.

A lot of vapers have a tendency to view anything that puts that in jeopardy in a negative light.

That goes for people using e-cigs for drug use as well as people blowing massive clouds without inhaling or even those jumping on the hipster bandwagon and using e-cigs when theyve never smoked before.

Its fine if you want to blow clouds or make a hobby out of e-cigs but please remember that without them many of us will be consigned to an ugly and painful death caused by oxygen starvation and our lungs and other organs finally giving out from COPD.

And thats if COPD doesnt help another disease kill us first.

I think this thread is good for the community Talk about it debate it be respectful

I agree with you, I think this is some of the stuff we should be talking about respectfully with each other and as a community.
I view debates on ECF about all things e-cig related in much the same way.... We all vape, we all enjoy it, and we all want to continue to do so. So, if WE can't calmly debate stuff like this as a group of people with a common interest.... how could we win against ANTZ?

A quick safety question for the serious cloud chasers that are below 0.5Ω as a norm.

Does the high heat produced break down any components of the e-liquid? Are dangerous compounds being created as the VG, PG or flavoring are broken down by heat? There's been a lot of discussion reguarding some flavorings and what they might contain, and possible popcorn lung, etc but little about what sub-ohms does..

I know of no studies that test what's actually in the vapor at various power levels, and I do follow as many studies as possible.

I've tried sub-ohm but found some cons to it that made it unimpressive to me. What anyone wants to do SAFELY, I really don't care, if their clouds aren't on top of me.

I've been dripping for years, long before there were re-buildable attys and have never had a problem keeping a 510, 901 or 306 fed for the perfect hit without leaking even without a drip shield. I find the sub-ohm builds go from a flooded - wet hit, to a nice vape, to a dry hit too fast to be enjoyable. Dripping 3-4 drops for every hit, and after every hit isn't enjoyable FOR ME....:2c:

Until larger clouds showed up on the vaping scene, most vapers rarely ever saw another vaper in public. Many were pretty much stealth vaping, and most people weren't aware vaping existed. The cloud chasing phenomenon thereby became the poster boy for the media and average people, as the clouds got noticed.

Someone blowing a cloud is an effective backdrop to news stories, representing all vapers to much of the general public.

Cloud chasing is pretty much harmless as far as I'm concerned, but with ANTZ looking for material, it has become very useful in demonizing vaping.

I don't have an opinion one way or another on how someone else chooses to vape, none of my business.

When using low sub ohm to chase clouds I do think you have a responsibility to those around you and the vaping community in general to do so safely.
Already have antz spewing hate & misinformation, do we really want to attract the attention of and possible regulation by the NSC USCPSC type people.

This was not a sanctioned study by any means, but an employee at a local B&M took his dual 26650 Vapor giant with a .12 or .15 ohm build, fired it and use a scanning thermometer to read the temperature of the coils while firing and it barely went over 200 degrees. I have never seen a side by side with a protank coil or anything but I wouldn't expect it to be much different. The coil is wet, and there is airflow over it, it cant get too hot.

When in doubt, to confirm you are browsing ECF, make sure you can find the following at any given time :

- The first page of general discussion contains a rant about cloudchasing or subohming.
- The first page of general discussion contains a thread about vaping in public.
- The first page of general discussion contains a rant about some elitist mentality within the community.

If you can spot all these clues right on the front page at any given time, then congratulations, you are on ECF.
