So true.

I finally decided which flashlights to get (another addiction of mine) and threw some more vape gear on the order while I was there. Just a few bucks worth though. I was good. Save the 4 flashlights that will ship today or tomorrow.

So whats the flashlight fetish all about, you just collect em or do you use em ?

i think it might just be a spending fetish i have LoL....I've just been ordering soldering gear ;)

Oh man, you know you have it bad when you spend on soldering gear haha. I totally have the spending problem too though. I just try to keep it focused on one hobby at a time. I rotate from music gear to flashlights to vaping. Eyeing some 22, 23 and 25ga Kanthal right now even though 24 26 and 28 (totaling 200ft) just came in week before last.

I use my flashlights. I only have 2 really nice ones and 1 of those is 10 years old (Streamlight Strion xenon). It's been retired because I can't bring myself to pay $40 for a proprietary battery. The other really nice one is a Zebralight headlamp I got in July. I do low-voltage and A/V installation so I use a headlamp every day. Other than that I have a bunch of ebay cheapies that are scattered everywhere. Still can't find a cheap zoomie 1x18650 that doesn't have a darn strobe mode.

hey Johndoe did you make that unregulated series box mod? you could put a mosfet in?

ive got the 100w sigelei so ima make a parallel of some sort :)... just dont know if i need a built in voltmeter and disco lights yet, cant make up my mind HaahAaa

Yes and no. :D

A voltmeter is always cool. I have one on the way but it's just going to go in my backpack and get used manually instead of being mounted into the box. You could put a switch in front of it and have it read individual batteries... OOOORRRRRR take the lazy route, wait a month or so and I'll have a killer true mechanical box figured out (thanks to Quigsworth). Going to start with 2x18650 in series (1590G) with nothing but a button, a few inches of flat copper stock and a 510. I could totally do one for you in a 1590B with all kinds of meters and lights. You could even have Carmina Burana play when you hit the button.

Slippy... You seriously have to stop with the FT links and easy ways to spend money. You're last little escapade netted me SIX dip tips. I only have TWO RDA's that will take a wide bore tip dude! The worst part is, I wish I had ordered at least 3 more of different kinds. Good thing I'm putting together a Xmas flashlight order atm.

oooh look at this JD $6.02 2-in-1 Drip Tip + Top Cap Combo for 20mm Tobh Atty V2 RDA Atomizers (5-Pack) 5-pack - glass at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping :D

Hey JD i wonder if you know, do you absolutley need a resistor on a Mosfet?

you shall have to keep us upto date on this newer one you are building it sounds like something i saw on another vape forum.
i like quigsworth hes helped me out a few time's with his good knowledge of electrics plus he doesnt want anything in return :) you gotta love these people

i think im gonna give the disco installation a miss on mine, it will make the mod a magnet for the small people :D

HAHAHA THE JOKE IS ON YOU SLIPPY. I can't file or sand those to fit my mutation X's so... as sexy as they are I can't use them. Wait, can you sand glass? Maybe I could get a few and find out... :p

I don't know much about MOSFETs. One of the smartest guys I know answered that question by saying "it depends on which FET you're using". :pop: I'd have to play Devil's Advocate by asking, WtheF is the big deal about a $0.50 part and 2 solder points? :?:

And yes, Quigs is one of my favorite people ever. I don't mean favorite online forum people either. I like Quigs more than some of my family members.

Hopefully they glass tips will fit my holy grail(doge), i ordered a 5pack so i can have a play with them, i had to make another order anyway as soon as i saw the v3 mephisto in stock :) ... oh btw i think i saw some more flashlights in stock ;).. i use to collect em to but mostly only headtorches, i was in to night fishing every weekend all weekend at one time and also i use to be a plasterer.

Yeh i put my hand in my pocket and bought some resistors hehee i wasnt worried about the money, was more my curious side but ive been doing a lot of reading so im feeling pretty confident, i just want to get jiggy with it.

Does Quigs live near you? you can send him some slippy love if you like :D

I wish Quigs lived near me. I would vape stalk him while he was working on stuff.

Quigs - "JD, can you quit blowing the clouds right where I'm trying to work?"
JD - "Sorry Quigs. Hey what are you doing now? What's that? Why are you using it? Can I have one?" :D

i got my box made but i bought an illuminating button and as soon as i screw an atty on the buttons LED comes on but the atty doesnt fire  back to the drawing board... i knew i shoulda just gone with a stnd button .... only took me the day to sort the box and wire it, not bad for first time soldering i think

Did you use a Mosfet? Sounds cool man! I can't picture it though (get it?). Reminds me a of a buddy's first solo electrical job. He was a great framer and roofer and I showed him how to hook up outlets and switches at my house. He calls me up a few months later and says "Hey man, I wired up this shed and the light doesn't come on when I turn the switch on. But if the switch is on and I fire up my circular saw, the light comes on." That one took me a second lol.

I'm sure you'll get it figured out Slippy. Good job jumping in there with the illuminated button and FET on the first project. My super simple box was a challenge for me and I have been soldering for years / fabricating for decades.

Those is purty. I have a wide bore (regular base) glass tip and I don't like seeing the condensation on the inside personally. At least those would be easy to wipe out. My first wave of black and white chuffs will be here early next week.

ive been doing a stock-take and ive got far to much vaping stuff, cancelled my glass DT and mephisto v3 order, no atty's are tickling my fancy atm, everything is the same thing pretty much, so to use up the money i ordered a cali 26650 rda, i do like attys with copper 510 and the holy grail is vaping like a beast right now so thought i'd get a big brother, and with the rest of the dosh leftover i ordered another multimeter, i have about 4 or 5 now hahahaa but this one has a 'R' button & also ordered some nose trimmers LoL might be useful.
tried to order some nice flux at FT but they wont send liquid this way for some reason, then i went to order some batteries for the trimmers and meter and they cant send them either:(
JD i dont get the FET joke... i still havent got the mod working so i have a basic vandal button with the screw connectors on the back and another Mosfet on the way just incase i fried this one, soo yeah all fun and games, atleast i wont get bored over christmas hey.... i could always go see the bloke that lives next door, he is a sparky but that would take the fun out of it :)

Havent done a quad for a while so here is a 28g 3/32 with four seperate rayon wicks.... 3mg juice is giving me a headrush hahaaa

Using the mirror to double the size of the cloud is a neat trick. I'll have to do that next time. ;-)

Gorgeous coils and build though. I may have to try that quad coil once I can find my daggum screwdriver for my MutationXv2!!! Grrrrr.

i wondered why my clouds were so big LoL... they arent bad for 50/50 juice are they :D

Shoot no they aren't! I only drip 80 VG and higher and you has bigger clouds than me most of the time. Just getting into the regulated game myself with the IPV3. Started with a leftover mech build on my MutationXv2, spaced 24ga 4.5 wraps 1/8" at 0.2 ohm. At 50W it was awesome! I thought that was weird since it wasn't stellar on a mech with a full charge and the IPV3 was running at less Voltage...

Decided to go for more surface area and resistance so I could crank up the wattage. Rebuilt the MXv1 w/ 9.5 wraps of 22ga 1/8" for 0.31 ohms (thinking 7V and 165W as the target). I liked the 24ga better at 50W than I do this 22ga build at any wattage. This build likes to run at higher wattages obviously but the clouds aren't as intense, it's using more juice and killing my batteries faster. Not sure what to try next. I now have 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 28 and 30ga Kanthal so I'll figure something out eventually. :)

This torch looks pretty nice JD >>>http://www.fasttech.com/products/1/10001842/2015307-nitecore-tm06-4-cree-xm-l2-u2-3800lm-8-mode-cool

And this Parallel 18650 mech with mech button looks nice >>> http://www.fasttech.com/products/1/10001842/2015307-nitecore-tm06-4-cree-xm-l2-u2-3800lm-8-mode-cool

hey you have your mod over 150w, its a newer version? what will it go up to, iis that Max?

The coils wicking has a huge part to play on the performance, the amount of times ive nailed the perfect wick on first try is high but nailing it on a re-wick always seems harder, maybe im rushing the rewick or & maybe the wire isnt performing the same, not sure ...........

I updated the IPV3 so it will go up to 165W. I haven't tried anything above 120W yet and nothing over 80 was pleasurable. With the update it reads the output voltage and coil resistance to hundredths instead of tenths as well. That was the main reason I updated.

Those "pepsi can" lights are funny looking but I bet they shine! The mod you referenced is followed by a link to the same torch. That's what I call a "be a bad influence and try to get JD to spend more money" fail.

Got a FT tobh chuff cap fitted to the MX1 this eve. Earlier I rebuilt it w 23ga 7.5 wraps 1/8" @ 0.3 ohms. Way better than the 9.5 wrap 22ga build.

yeah man if i was into collecting them i would defo get that one i linked you ;)

and here is the link for you my friend :) $42.93 IVOGO Dimitri Style Mechanical Box Mod - 2*18650 / aluminum alloy at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping.

they caps de-restrict the airflow nicely and also look very cool, i have a single fusion clapton at 0.13 in my MX with a chuff that obviously opens up all the holes both sides and it just about perfect for me, i like lots of air :)

That's a nice box! Good thing this IPV3 and my series mech box are KILLING it right now. Soon I'll build some coils that are good in my 8V mech box and see how the IPV3 compares.

There's so many crazy coils to try. Just rebuilt my hobo with 25ga coils. Just plain ol dual coils @ 0.3 ohms and it's great! Awesome flavor and darn decent clouds for how little airflow it has and how high the resistance is.

I think my next cloud build will be quads. Haven't decided what gauge or orientation to use just yet. You used 28 horizontal and symmetry used 24 vertical most recently. I should probably stick with doing what no one else does and run 25ga diagonals.

Mutation X V2 with Cloupor T-8 @150 watts 95%Vg 5% Flavour(Murdock's Agent Orange 50/50/pg/vg) Dual Coil 26g kanthal

The vape is warm, not hot. No dry burns if wicked properly. It is so thick that it feels like milk when exhaling. Even a tiny bit of straight flavoring thins the VG enough to wick along with however long a pull I take. For me at least. Once you have the power and a good rda (like a plume veil or mutation) it's all about wicking and airflow. You can do it!
