Some users complain that some of the unregulated mech mod/box do not create enough clouds.
What is your opinion on this?
Do the most experienced users give much importance to the smoke a Mech does? It bothers people and often looks like a competition for me.
I rock this build and chuck clouds with the best of em :D

* its not smoke. Its vapor. Yes thats important*

Mech mods require an understanding of how the gear works.
Thats why they are only recommend for advanced users.

Im gonna guess the problem is from people who do not understand their gear tryinh to fire exotic clapton type coils with massive wads of metal with a mech.
It takes forever to heat a piece of railroad track.
Thats the main reason for 200+watt devices. No one vapes single strand coils at 200watts.

Once you truely understand your gear, you'll find those exotic coils dont really perform any better than standard or parallel coils. They just need more power to heat up.

Search youtube for "single 18650 mechanical cloud competition" anytime you think you cant get clouds from a mech.

Your comment intrigued me because I purchased one of those nice round variety boxes of exotic coils and after trying a few found them not to be as good as simple tight coils. Maybe I wasn't giving them enough power but I gave up on them and still have most of them left unused.

Since getting into rebuildables 6 years ago I have always vaped between 20 and 25 watts, still do. So when I first started I vaped mechs because there simply was no regulated device that went over 15 watts. Since the dna advanced to 20 and above I gave up mechs all together and never have done clouds . I would say most clouders believe that hi wattage reg devices produce alot more clouds simply because they can put out more power safely . With a single 18650 mech your probably looking at 70, maybe 80 watts max, and that's probably pushing the battery limits, also you can only obtain that power for a very short time as the battery drains. With these 200 and 300 watt , 3 battery mods, you just can't match the power and safety compared to a single mech I guess. Personally I don't know if 70 watt clouds are any smaller then 150 watt clouds, but it makes sense that the more power, the bigger the clouds

A few points. First, it is not smoke, it is vapor. I enjoy decent clouds and I guarantee you, my vaping has never bothered anyone (in public, I am very respectful). Lastly, and please don't take this the wrong way, I don't care what it looks like to YOU, because my style of vaping keeps me off cigarettes, and as I said, I'm not bothering anyone.

If I wanted bigger clouds I could use max VG. BUT, since I prefer flavor and bite (TH) over clouds, my clouds are just a little less dense since I use 70p-30v juice.
Still, in my eye, its an impressive cloud. Its comparable to the cigars I used to smoke. Especially when there is a light source directly in front of me, LOL.

That`s my opinion, and its the opinion that matters most to me. :?)

I'm going to assume they are talking about power (watts). Some mech mods are less efficient than others, but if you get the right one you can actually get a bit more power from it than with a regulated mod at the same battery amp draw. There are also multi-cell mech mods out there just like with regulated mods. IMO there is no significant difference between mech's and regulated while they are making around their max power.

Do the most experienced users give much importance to the smoke a Mech does?

How people feel about high vapor production has nothing to do with their level of experience, it's all about their personal preference. IMO the majority of vapers don't care much about it.

It bothers people and often looks like a competition for me.

A lot of things bother some people. It doesn't bother me that it bothers them, which is good because ... otherwise it would bother me

There are organized vape competitions in which people compete to see who can make the biggest cloud. It happens informally too, like with a lot of things in life. Ultimately, the only people we have full control over is ourselves.

A thought experiment:

Smoking never existed.

You're in a mall and you encounter a few peeps vaping and chatting. Some vape large. Others more subtle. They seem to be having an agreeable time.

Do you feel bothered or threatened?

Or do you feel curious, intrigued or perhaps even amused?

Good luck. :)

Smoke from a mech or any other mod is definitely something to be concerned about. Usually, the smoke occurs right after the attempt to make a ton of vapor with a gram of knowledge.

After several years of experimenting with all aspects of vaping, I really don't care about the clouds. They're a byproduct. Come to think about it, I don't care about anyone's clouds.....Unless I'm in the cereal isle.

One thing I always see is that many think more power results in bigger clouds but in my opinion you must balance the power you put to the coils because with too much power you will not get a big cloud just a hot singed vapor. With 2 different MOD's (builds/coils) I can create the same clouds but one is firing at 30 Watts and the other at 100 Watts.

My single wire 22G kanthal with 6 wraps dual at .21 ohms can cloud up a room with high VG at only 65W even though I can technically go between 55-110W according to the Vape Tool app. But I'm very happy not using more than 65W. I don't need these "fancy" coils out there. I feel like mine are fancy for me (for now :))
