Not really worried. When mine comes in I'll take it apart and make sure all the connections are secure and well insulated.

Funny, but I see no mention of what battery the guy had in the Mini or what condition it was in.
Anyone recognize the blue battery, I notice it's bulged at the top.

Battery does not matter. They have Fried with Efest and Samsung as well as a few others. It is a manufacturing defect in some of the boards.

I've had one on order from fasttech for a month,was suppose to ship tomorrow.I went ahead and canceled it today.Not going to risk it.
I suppose I should be worried but I'm not. If something happens to my mini I'll deal with it than. Past my 14 day return policy and to be honest I love this thing. I don't USB charge and if something happens I'll complain than. Feel bad for those that got a bad device but until mine dies I'm using it.
I would never charge via a pc or laptop usb - I have worked in the IT industry and have worked on literally thousands of machines over the years and they are notoriously unreliable and under powered anyway - often power provided changes depending on what else is plugged into a other usb hub port too.
I would always opt for a dedicated phone or ipad style wall plug for speed and consistency - but I would always still prefer to remove batteries when charging Mods - rock on Cloupor Mini - so far so good!

Before we start worrying about our houses burning down, is it for sure that these meltdowns are capable of such? Melting plastic and shorting circuit boards may not be enough to produce flames or catch nearby objects afire .... Or get the battery involved. Or are they?

Nothing shooting flames, but one person claimed theirs was actually on fire once the Battery cover was removed.
As to catching something near by on fire................. How lucky are you? My luck would case total loss.
As to the issue, so far all failures have happened within a few days of receiving the units. Past that the working units seem to be fine.
The Suspect Charging port claim was due to one or two being on charge when the Board failed. The Failure seems to be the same on all so far and many never used the USB. The damage is also more mid-board.
What would happen if the user put in the battery backwards and then hooked it up to a charger ? Maybe nothing but maybe a meltdown. If I worked for a competitor I would try something. Cloupor has stated that they sold 100 thousand mini's already. Somebody is not happy about that........
Maybe so but I won't try a backward battery and try to charge with USB. KTM wanna try to see what happens ?

Just kidding. I did actually put the battery in reverse and plugged it to a 1.8a charger for about a minute. Nothing happened. Put the battery back the right way and all is well again.

I'm not blaming anybody. I'm just tired of people slamming the mini . Maybe 40 units out of a 100 thousand are bad. I still love mine andwill buy another.....
So far they have had about 50. Considering that cloupor is prevalent in brick n mortars a good deal of those haven't even hit customers hands yet. I know a vape shop in a town nearby that has a decent sized row of them in store. I'm guessing 15-20, and this is a small shop. When this is all said and done I have a feeling it will either be just a run or two that had some lemons, or many more will start popping up. I hope to god it's just the handful that have happened because if it gets bigger that could be a terrible thing to happen, especially when vaping is under the scrutiny that it is right now.
As of now, being super conservative, you have a 1 in 2000 chance of your device starting fire. That right there is a terrible number.
