Think you need to clarify what KIND of 18650 before posting your comment.

All of the original size LT kits come equipped with 18650 batteries.

The LT also has a protection circuit built right into the regulator, so it can handle unprotected 18650's OR high drain IMR's.

But I haven't verified yet if 18650 protected cells will fit though.

Is that what you're referring to, Jimi?

And how many people in here think that an LT isn't worth $20?

Cuz that's what we're ALL looking at spending to own one.....I just got the news this morning.

We are being allowed to order just the LT, for a measly $20 each....NO LIMIT! I can order 1 or any many as my heart desires. batteries are $2.50 each....through L-Rider.

I am quoting this post to bring it back down to the bottom for others to see :) I know that it gets tough digging for the info and this is the last info that I have found posted with any kind of details here. So this is for those of you that are looking for this info. Hope it helps!

ETA- We also know that China is on holiday for their new year right now until 01/31/2012 so probably not much going to happen before then.

Also we are all being asked to watch this thread for updates to see when the actual coop thread is started.

Oh my, if anyone is keeping track of all of the changing requests, KUDOS! That has to be a BIG job!! I will probably change my original request also to include additional units but will wait until Shek is able to post ALL of the options available (kits/stand-alones/batteries/sizes/endcaps/color options) in order to avoid repeated upgrade changes. :D

Thanks for all of your hardwork Shek!

They are at the Honolulu Vapor Cafe. I had a huge go around with two young arrogant girls about this yesterday. I received an email from Volcano stating they would refund in full but the girls would only exchange for 2 of the same battery. I told her those are still the fakes, after about 5 minutes of heated discussion she opens a drawer and says "these are genuine but I'm not supposed to sell them yet."

Maybe you should speak with the owner and find out which local agency issued their license to do business??

Cuz that's FRAUD, assuming they're selling fakes as 'authentic'??

I've currently only read through till page 19 (still sifting through the information), I'm interested but I need to know what colours are available and if I can get a charger for the 18350 batteries. To sum up I'd be interested in either the the mini or the regular and 4 batteries plus charger (I can get a 18650 charger).

Can 2600mAh be used in the LT? The ones I have are 1600mAh.

The maH rating of your battery just tells you how much power the cell can hold.

So the higher the rating, the longer the battery will last per charge.

IMR batteries don't last nearly as long as a high quality li-ion battery, but the IMR has a safer chemistry.

But to be quite honest, there's no real reason to even want to use an IMR battery in the LT.

An AW IMR 18650 is rated at a 10 amp drain (I think?), but the LT maxes out at 2.63 amps.

A standard Li-ion 18650, even a Chinese low quality battery, will give you at LEAST 3 amps drain which is more than what the LT requires to reach its cut-off point.

I think the main reason people try to push the IMR's if for safety purposes. But no Lithium type battery is fool proof and will go critical if it's shorted out or mishandled.

High quality cells will give you very accurate amp hour measurements, like the Tenergy 18650 2600 maH battery.

But I'm not a battery expert, either. So somebody please correct me if I'm wrong? :)

And just for the record, Super-T Manufacturing conducted a test of these "controversial" batteries against the authentic AW IMR 18650...here's the results in a graph:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...at-prices-super-selection-41.html#post4835195

The AW shows a 2.5 amp discharge rate (very near the LT's maximum) and the counterfeit shows a 2.5 amp discharge rate.....but lasted for considerably longer.

Read the thread for more details.

If you guys watch steelyjan's video on the red lavatube, she shows how to use normal protected ultra fire 18650s.

Just an addition....if you're thinking about using a GARBAGE battery in your LT, like an Ultrafire, you can expect less than great performance. Ultrafire's are seriously junk batteries!!

Plus, if you use a protected circuit on top of the LT's protection circuit, you might have even less performance....but don't quote me on that! ;)

The LT already HAS a protection circuit built into it, so you can use unprotected or IMR cells.

Agreed! I hate Ultrafires and use the Red and Black Trustfires in my Buzz :)

I don't have a clue about performance with the LT and unprotected batteries but my Buzz also has a protection circuit built in and I use protected batteries. Better safe than sorry IMO :)
