You don't want to start out making 30mL of juice until you know what you like and what %s to use. It's recommended to start out making 3ml batches until you tweak it the way you want. So I would suggest you pick up some 3mL bottles and maybe even some 5 or 10mL ones.

There are quite a few good calculators out there. I seldom use them but when I do I use these. DIY E-Liquid (E-Juice) Mixing Station!

Here's a cheap place to get bottles if you just want a few. DIY Supplies : VaporJunction, E-Cigarette Supply

Well today I went around to find some Propylene Glycol and I found it at the London Drugs Pharmacy, they will be ordering it for me and it will be in tomorrow. A 500ml bottle for 10 dollars Canadian.
For the Vegetable Glycerine USP I went to a Soap and candle store in Langley (Canada) and bought a 500 ml bottle for 4,75 Canadian dollars. Also they had tons of different little glass bottles with and without dripper tops. This all for very little. I also found this great bakkery supply store just around the corner of my house and they have the best flavours from Lorrane. I might also get some of these flavours to try and mix up.

I am trying to make e-liquid with no nicotine in it using the e juice me up calculator. Do you know how to fill in the tables when not using nicotine? If I fill in Nicotine strenght Ejuice I say PG70% and VG30% and the last row on that line is on 0mg correct?
It's just a little confusing for me.

Thanks,
Jolanda

I use a little white vinegar to the water when I wash bottles, cuts through most smells. If they're really smelly, I throw in a bit of baking soda as well which will FOAM when added to vinegar so be sure to do it in the sink! Just be sure to rinse well.

Switch to glass bottles and glass eye droppers and your flavor smell problems will be gone. I bought a dozen or so that is what I use to mix, store, and as my daily use bottles. No traces of what was in the bottle before...

I have no desire to use this method with instant coffee, but I can't help but wonder if it would be as kind to our atties and cartos as the regular method. I am thrilled with the longevity of my cartos using this extraction method.

I have followed this thread for awhile and anyone that has seen any of my posts knows I pretty much vape only coffee with accents mixed in. Since no one has tried it I have got to try instant at least once. I have folgers, maxwell and a cuban blend - use them when I am in a hurry and do not want to take time to make just one cup - have not invested in a keurig yet... so instant is my backup. I have tons of maxwell so I guess tomorrow I will try that one...

I will let ya'll know how it turned out in a few days. I have found the coffee flavors taste best if steeped for a while - so I figure instant would follow the same path...

My hero!

I have been so curious about this, but have hardly even cracked open my bottle of coffee flavouring, so this is a bit down on the list.

My guess is that a flavouring made from instant coffee might in fact be kinder to atties than an infusion made from regular ground coffee - especially if it is made from freshly roasted beans. No fats.

Oh, and three different instants in the house? My kind of coffee drinker :)
(I nearly always mix a few different instants together right in the cup - there are very few I like solo)

Will you mix a super-strong solution in water and then blend that with VG or PG? Or will you try to get the granules to dissolve directly into either?

And since instant coffee is so much more drinkable when steeped (2-10 minutes) I am sure the same will be the case with a vape-flavouring; though if you take the route of dissolving the instant in hot water first, it might be that prompt blending with PG or VG might be a good idea - get that instant steeping effect of instant to take place in the PG/VG, rather than in just water and up in the air...

Yea, three instants and 4 ground plus several small bags of whole bean flavors that I use when I am in the mood... I guess my coffee drinking is like my vaping - I like variety once in a while...

I was thinking - one level teaspoon to 15ml of warm PG. Any other suggestions to what might be good...

I'd do one like that, and then another of pre-mixing it in hot water (would one teaspoon to 15 ml be good there too? Sounds a bit weak, but it is 1:3 (volume) so should be plenty strong) and then mix that in VG.

I figured I would try one teaspoon and then I can always add more if it needs it, but there has to eventually be a limit on what the PG will absorb. I figured I would add 20% VG after I got the mix consistent... I want to make it as strong as possible. I do not see the benefit of pre-mixing in hot water - thin it out???

I am more concerned about the solubility of the granulate in PG (even if it is warmed).

I was thinking about how a kick-... mocca mousse recipe I learned in school(!) had us dissolve the gelatin (not powder but those clear sheets that get all slimy when left in cold water for a bit) in half a dl (50ml) of hot coffee, and how I discovered that the recipe gets even stronger on the coffee-y goodness if you instead of 50ml of hot regular drip coffee use a generous tablespoon of instant in the same amount of hot water. (This hot gelatin-coffee mixture was then added to a mix of melted chocolate, very small chocolate chips and whipped cream, freeze or chill for a few hours. I can't remember the ratios now, sorry. It is *very* good, though. I heartily recommend it.)

I think you are right. I warmed up the PG. Mixed in the instant - let it sit for about 10min. Went to shake it to help it along - I could see instant coffee sticking to the bottle. Okay - I tried to warm it up more - mistake. Vapor came out of the bottle... Hmmm - to warm. Dumped it - was not taking a chance and tried again. Same method.

This time let it sit about 20min. Shook it. Still instant coffee sticking to the bottle. Warmed up a bowl of water and let it sit in that. Warmed up the water several times (about every 5 min) and let it sit. The coffee is not sticking any more, but it is still not ready. Getting ready to go out for a few hours. I will check it out when I get back...and report back. If it looks okay I am going to take a dropper and taste vape it - I might thin it a little, depending on how it looks - 0mg - not wasting my nic juice until I am comfortable with it.

I will let everyone know tonight...

Well, it got to sit for about 5 or 6 hours by the time I got back. It looks thoroughly mixed and as dark as a cup of coffee could be. Looked way to dark for dripping as is so I dripped 2 drops in a cap and then dripped 4 drops of plain PG with it - mixed it up - warmed it a little and mixed it some more. It was still very dark, but it was just for a test. Dripped 3 drops in my atty and fired it up - not impressed.

It tasted like coffee (kind of), but there was another taste - not sure what to call it. Now this could have been because it was still to strong and it had no accent flavors. I always have accents of some type in my coffee I vape. I can drink black coffee, but I do not like to vape black coffee so I add various accents.

I have 10 - 12ml mixed up so I may play with it, but for now I will stick with my ground coffee extracts... I know how they work...

Okay, now I need help. That other taste I mentioned - I cannot get it out of my mouth. I have drank water, coffee, and soda. I vaped some of my spearmint that I do not like because it takes a while for the flavor to go away and I thought it would knock the other taste out (now I have two taste in my mouth that I do not like). I tried Scope and brushing my teeth / tongue.

What else is there to try? Oh, and stop laughing (lol)...

Yea, I have already had carrots, an apple, and I just finished a bowl of cereal. After I finish eating something the taste is gone and then slowly emerges again. I have lost about 10lbs since I started vaping and I figure I am going to gain about half of it back trying to get this taste out of my mouth. LOL

You ever paint something with enamel and no matter what you do it will not wash off. You just have to let it wear off - well that is how this is going. Eating is wearing it down, but it is still there. I now know what went wrong - my mix was to strong... As the taste wore down I could tell what I was tasting - coffee...(slightly burned)...

It took about 4 hours, but everything has calmed down now. At least now I know that 1 teaspoon of instant coffee in 12ml of PG is strong - and I mean strong even when then mixed at 25%...

I did not pour it out. As my taste buds and stuff settled down I could taste the coffee. Some afternoon when I am bored and have the nerve to try it again. I might try a mix at maybe 2% or 5% and see what it is like with a touch of brandy or something...

If I get the nerve to try it again I will pass it on, but for now I am passing on using instant coffee to extract anything...

Someone else want to try???
