Okay, I just started rebuilding and I am trying to get to 2.0 ohms. I am using the following:

28 gauge Kanthal
a 5/32 drill bit to wrap around
A svoemesto kayfun 3.1 rta clone

These are a couple of pics just for the visual:

Okay, I make sure that the coil does not touch anything other than the posts. I put it on the atomizer tester and, well after 4 tries, I am only up to 0.09 on the tester. I have watched a lot of YouTube and previously read here about it. I just can't seem to get up to 2.0 ohms.

Should I use a 4" diameter drill bit to wrap?

Thanks

The picture was 7 wraps/30g on a 5/32nd drill bit. Using the 5/32nd gauge increased the length of the wire. I thought that increased the resistance.

Okay, so the micro coil style where all are touching. I assume I will need a butane torch to heat the wire after wrapping and then squeeze.

The reason for the 2.0 is that the chart suggests it. BUT, I just looked at an Ohms calculator and 1.5 will get me into the middle of my MV2 watts range (9.1) Also, I understand that lower resistance is better for flavor.

Pending any guidance, I will work to a 1.5 in a micro coil.

I don't think you need such a fat coil in your KF. You'll probably end up with too much wick and not enough airflow. 2mm or 5/64" would probably be better, and you shouldn't have to go any thinner than 32g to get where you want to be. Doesn't have to be touching. With certain wicks, it's better when they don't touch. Also, I find ideal coil height to be about 1.5mm or 1/16" above the air hole.

0.09Ω is definitely a false reading from a short. If the problem isn't with your coil legs, there could be a loose piece of metal somewhere inside your deck. It could be a sliver of wire from when you trimmed, or if it's new, shavings from when they machined it. If it's not clearly visible, I'd take it apart and thoroughly clean it. Run a dental brush or pipe cleaner through the air hole and any other crevices too.
