I just gotta asked - your dual coil clapton donut whirliegig coil vs my 3strand 30g twisted - both are .4ohm...
lol
Being silly but question is - whats the difference? If we both get to dual .4ohm - is it the same vape?
Not being a smarty_pants here - I am genuinely interested.
Tried my hand at a Clapton coil, tried something different cause the only wire I have is 28, 26, & 24g. I used 28g over 28g because if I used anything bigger than 28 for the core wire, the legs wouldn't fit thru my post holes. Anyway, I wrapped it around a 1/16 bit and gave it 5 wraps, came out to .48 ohms on my meter, it produces exceptional flavor and really puts out the vapor.

Yeah, it's not as pretty as all the others I've seen and probably not traditional text book Clapton coil material, but it works and I'm happy with it. I need to reorder more 28g almost out of my spool so I think I'll pick up some 30g with it next time. Maybe next time I'll try 30g wrapped over some 26g.

How is the heat up and cool down?
All in all a .4 is a .4, but coil construction is a game changer. Different wire gauge, number of wraps, wicking material, all make a huge difference. They may have the same resistance, but I doubt they perform on the same levels.
OK that's what I was wondering - if .4 is .4 no matter now we get there.
thanks!
dual coils of 28G and 22G would probably meter in around 0.04Ω or so. That's too low for even me.

You have a limit?![]()
What would you say are the advantages of the Nuke wire over kanthal?
