Paul, try to get a tobacco that is something you would have liked when you smoked, that is a good place to start in my little experience. I say that because it is a flavor extraction more than anything else. Or choose a tobacco that you always liked the smell of when smoked around you.

On another note, I have a few small cold macerations over a month old and have run out of bottles to bottle it and mix with nic. I used all my spare bottles up with my heat-assisted macerations

The high end shop is no longer there. I found a Smoker Friendly store but all they had for American Spirit was a tin for $30 plus tax. Tops or Bugler was the other choice.

Maybe the casino smoke shop on the rez has other than cartons.
That's one reason I order primarily from the internet. Pipes and cigars dot com 1 oz. bulk buys are shipped in a nicely labeled baggie. They carry many other tobaccos in 1.5 to 2 oz tins for a little more coin.

Got my box of joy from WL today. Stopped by the smoke shop and all they had in a pouch was Organic Am Spirit. $9.61 for the 1.4 ounce seemed a bit steep but I bought it anyway. Some methods say an ounce and some say 15 grams. I assume this is by weight. I have a small diet scale but not sure how accurate it is.

First batch will start this weekend.

BTW they also sold large bags of "pipe" tobacco in classic, smooth and menthol for around $12. I debated on getting one of those. Six Nations was the brand IIRC. I never paid much attention to RYO before.

I went ahead (before your reply) and pushed another 1/2 cup in the jar, then added more PG. I noticed that the first batch was floating in the PG and about a half inch or more above the bottom of the jar. The new batch is still below the top of the jar so I think it will be ok. There is probably another 1/2 cup left in the tub which would be about right for one ounce plus .4oz left from the original 1.4oz pouch.

One of the reasons for using the measuring cup is so that I can use other jars. I only have the one mason jar but have lots of other jars of various sizes. Then if I buy a bag of loose I have an idea of how much to put in a jar or try a double batch.

Should be amazing in about a month.

Do I really have to wait? lol
