I think we all know colours in liquid is unnecessary. After trying naturally extracted vanillas and strawberry you get a lot of earthy, natural colour which I'm okay with.

General DIY just looks unfinished to me...

I've steeped my Capella vanilla before but it just stayed practically clear. The concentrate itself has a yellow tint but after mixing it just looks really clear.
Should your steeped DIY have any colour??

Also, how much percentage of Capella concentrate should be generally used. It says on the website 15-20% but that seems excessive. Any thoughts

Some of my steeped liquids get a bit of color. Specifically my Red Velvet Cake(TFA), Cinnamon Danish Swirl(CAP), and Skittles if I leave it long enough(I never do). I find it also depends on the percentage of concentrate in your mix.

Okay thanks.
Bingo. I've got the danish swirl as well. How much concentrate do you use?

I find it quite strong. On its own I go at 5%, but usually I make Fruity danishes(Banana, Strawberries & Cream, Wild Blueberry, Black Cherry to name a few). In those mixes I do about 6% fruit(depending on which one Im using and how strong it is but 6% would be the average), and 2% Cinnamon Danish.

It usually takes a lot of steeping for the Danish juices to change color because I have it in such small amounts.

Lots of flavors take a week or more to develop the full color. Some turn in a day or two. I have 7 glass bottles in the window sill from last week's DIY session. They range from water clear to orange to light brown at the concentrations suggested from the vendors.

I also have two 100ml bottles of unflavored nic that I use to dilute when suggested percentages make the juice too flavorful for my tastes after experimenting trying to find the sweet spot.

Very few juices are un-salvageable if you can add more flavor or cut them with unflavored. Then, there are some that are good to others and un-vapable for me. Flavor is a personal thing.

I use a lot of CAP flavors and find that 5 - 10% for stand alone flavors about right. I find flavors can be used somewhat lower in a mix to get the desired effect. I typically use 10 - 18% flavoring in mixes. I often vape Cinnamon Danish Swirl, Sugar Cookie & Vanilla Custard v1 @ 10% with 1% Sweetener stand alone.

Some examples are:

I make a Cinnamon Custard Danish:
Cinnamon Danish Swirl (CAP)3%
Custard (INW) 6% or Vanilla Custard v1 (CAP) 7%
Sweetener (TFA) 1%

And a Black Raspberry Custard:
Blackberry (CAP) 6%
Raspberry (CAP) 2%
Vanilla Custard v1 (CAP) 7%
Sweetener (TFA) 1%

Or Coconut Cookies:
Sugar Cookie (CAP) 7%
Coconut Candy (TFA) 3.25%
Vanilla Cupcake (CAP) 2%
Vanilla Custard (CAP) 1%
Golden Butter (CAP) 1%
Hazelnut (FW) .75%
Sweetener (TFA) 1%

I hope this helps & good luck... :D

I mixed up a 5ml batch of CAP Sugar Cookies at 3% the other day, shook it periodically, and let it steep for about 3 days. It was good and it smelled great, but I found it too sweet with less cookie than I expected and thought it might be better at a lower percentage.

Dobroeutro, you mix it at 7%? Maybe I only got the sweetness at 3%. Does the cookie part come out of hiding at 7%?
