Confused!

I don't know what e-cig to get, there are so many. I smoke Black Horse Mild or Marlboro Reds right now, about a pack and a half to two packs a day. Is there anything comparable? What should I get? I'm so tired of reading reviews and trying to figure out what and where to get it. I live in the USA. Help is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.

From all your reading, you can see why that question is difficult to answer - very subjective. vaping is not exactly like smoking but for me, it was the closest and only thing that got me to stop analogs (real cigs).

From what you've stated and what I've read here, the 510 kit with a PCC and some 24mg Marb or Kent (maybe Hilton) ejuice would probably give you a good start at a reasonable price.

From what I've found in my experience, batt life became a more important consideration than look or feel. I went with the 801 Janty Stick as the price was great, batt life very good (usb vape and charge at same time) and the size/weight of the stick was incredible. It was the closest thing for me to grabbing the pack and lighter and blowing out the door to the train.

But, after saying all that, I now find myself looking at other, larger mods like the Super-T1 or PureSmoker Protege or GGTS and can't make up my own mind

So I suggest you plan to pick something and start - seriously, just start. And don't stop. You'll learn a lot about the whole vaping thing and what works for you.

If you want a second hobby, the 510 is very popular. When I had mine I had to be wondering the best way to clean the atty, wondering if I should by teabags to stuff it with, ponder which Mod to buy to make it perform well, not to mention dripping on the atty every 10 minutes, or topping off the carts to get a good throat hit! I got very weary of all the maintence and got the VK and have never looked back! I would put my manual (push button) passthrough up against any mod out there for taste and throat hit - that thing is a beast!

I would recommend the 24mg carts for the throat hits you will love to get you off the smokes. The Marlboro is good, but try other flavors too - the coffee and capuccino is outstanding! And Steve always tosses in little goodies for each order that keeps us all smiling!

I agree with Nubee. Just pick one you can get the quickest and start. I got the SmokeingEverywhere brand because it was the only one available right in my town. It defiantly is not a favored one on this forum but I am loving it and have not smoked a full cig sense the day I bought it. There is a learning curve and this second week of use is better than the first. The tips from the forum solved my problems. JUMP IN YOU WILL LOVE IT!

You might want to look at your current cost of analogs and use that to guide your choice. There are replacement costs - atomizers/cartomizers, batts, ejuice, etc...

All of these do need to be replaced and do have failures.

I myself was in a similar situation. I started out with a smoking everywhere ecig that got my curiosity. It wasn't until after the fact I found this place and the wealth of information herein I made myself a wise choice. From what I've read there's several excellent ones to go with. I myself chose the Joye 510 and I just love it. The batteries are ok but but for the past two weeks I've been cycling through a pair of batteries and I've got two atomisers that I switch between. One I drip with and one that I use a regular filled cart. So far thats kept me off of regular analogs quite well. As far as liquid strength I've pretty much just been vaping 18mg liquid normally and usually first thing in the morning I'll vape a hit or two of 36 mg with my coffee and I'm good to go. I've got a PCC but it hasn't quite worked the way I thought it would but I'm doing ok otherwise. If you want your ecig to replace analogs then to me there's a couple of things you need to take into consideration. Your first couple of days/week there's going to be a "novelty" effect and you'll probably be puffing on it quite a bit. In short.. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. I've given myself quite a few headaches initially from puffing a bit too much. The novelty does wear off and I find myself taking a puff or two here.. maybe an hour later a puff there etc. Second thing is Don't try and treat it like a regular analog. Not sure if it makes sense but it's similar but way different at the same time. You kinda just need to find out what works for you. As I said I chose the TECC 510 Titan and I've loved it from the minute I got it.

I agree...A 510 with a PCC or a 901(research passthroughs later if you enjoy the 901) and a non sweet more analog tasting liquid (my best suggestion, straight out of the gate)> ..A few others you might try> Hilton, Kent also Winston, Dunhill or Cubin Cigar ( don't be afraid to mix them if you want...I'd also pick up a sample of your fav fruit flavor maybe a cappucinno flavor, just in case the tobaccos dont turn you on..Just know right up front that not one of them will taste exactly like an analog/cig... You are basically looking for the level of sweetness and background flavors youll like...Forget all about matching a liquid to a brand of cig, youll just be disappointed...Think of it as switching brands.. If you like the sweetness, try ry4(a carmal-vanilla tobacco) and or 555 ( a nutty tobacco) both also very popular...
I talk about Flavors a lot because It's really important to find Your go to flavors or no model of e-cig will please you..Suppliers who offer samples/sample packs are so good for this (smile)

*Read up on refilling your cart with eliquid ( cause trust me, youll be tossing the prefilled cars (that claim to last far longer then they actually do) to the side...
* I'd suggest buying a high (24 or 36 mg) eliquid and a low ( 6-9 or 11 mg) eliquid..That way you can mix them to the level that will work with your need, increase it slowly ( heart palpatations, headache = too much nic... Constant craving for a cig = usually not high enough)...Remeber that vaping absorbs way slower then an analog/ cig... It's something like 20 vapes to equal the absorption of a few puffs of a cig... And will take a longer amount of time vaping to smash that nic craving...

As for recieving your first kit... Remember that the atomizer will have primer on it, It taste horrid and will take a bit to get rid of it..I personally blow my new atty out first ( blow firmly thru the side youd screw into the battery, the other end above a paper towel..Do this several times ( this will greatly reduce the break in time)...Then drip 3-4 drops of liquid on the wick ( down the barrel) to reprime it with liquid - remembering that a freshly blown out atty requires more drips to reprime then usual - they are thirsty ( later you might want to reduce it to a drop or two, here and there if you are also using a cart with liquid....Once reprimed, start vaping..If you still taste the ucky metalic taste ( left over primer fluid) keep vaping Without inhaling till it's gone...The vapor will gradually start increasing as you break it in ( few days)...
Pay attention to the taste..Say, several nice tasting vapes into it..Suddenly the flavor is slightly off ( lil burnt tasting, just different)...That usually means its time to top off your cart and or drip a drop on the atty..This is very important with the 510...They run hot and tend to hold onto that burnt taste for a while once you pass that point...And letting any atty run bone dry can kill it..heres where the learning curve comes in...Youll be so concerned with it possibly going dry that you may flood it ( gurgling, no vape etc = blow the atty out and start over)... This sound like soooo much..But honestly, You'll learn how to trouble shoot your ecig pretty fast ( smile)

Don't forget to let your ecig rest a few after a few vapes to keep it from getting too hot ...Which is why some folks have two ecigs going and alternate them..Also make sure you pick up AN EXTRA ATOMIZER...cause nothing blows worse then finally mastering it, and having your atty die and having to wait on another one lol.... Cartomizers are flavor cartridges with the atty built right in. No more cleaning and blowing out your attys! Plus, and this is huge for me - I don't have to drip on the atty or top off carts just to get a decent hit!

As for how long they last, obviously it depends on your vaping habits. For me, I use 1 1/2 to 2 carts a day. (Tend to vape more on weekends) Still much cheaper then cigs (I smoked about a pack a day, often more) Also, refilling the carts helps cut costs and is super easy! They can be refilled up to 10 times.

In the short time I used the 510, I had 2 attys go bad on me - not to mention the hassle of cleaning it. At $8 - $12 each to replace, this can add up. Add to that the fact that the first day of every new atty you are vaping the primer - nasty stuff!

The kit prices are pretty comparable to most devices available. Don't get bogged down in the upper end kit prices, those include Personal Charging Cases, Passthroughs, and regular cases. These extras alone on any other unit cost about $25 (PCC), 25$ (Passthrough), and $7-10 (regular carrying case). If you compare apples to apples, I think you will be surprised.

If you are looking for a basic starter kit there are lower cost options. If you can share your price range, we can help you compare costs and get you somewhere you are comfortable. A word of warning though, I bought a ton of other models before my VK, along with all the extras and now they are not being used at all. Money saved doesn't count when the device doesn't get used - a lesson I learned the hard way. Chose your device based on what appeals to you, not over the price tag (since the variation between models is really not that much - the hard part is trying to figure out what is in each kit that makes the price whatever it is). What will work for you, even if it actually costs a bit more up front, is well worth it in the long-term.

BTW - there is an unbeatable warrantee on the VKs, and not just from Steve at Vapor4Life. There are several of us, myself included, that will happily trade you our other kits for your Vapor King if you find you don't like it. I personally have 801s, 901s, and 510s, that I would be more than willing to swap for your VK if you don't find you like it.

If you spend any time at the computer, the passthrough is a must! Other then that, I guess 2 batteries, a charger and cartomizers would get you started. If you just wanted to try the VaporKing to see if you like it, you can get a passthrough and 5 cartomizers for 28.00 and use the smilin code to get 10% off. I think it is for an auto, but if you put in the comments you would prefer manual (if you do) he would probably do it since the price of the auto and manual is the same. That way you could try the product before investing a lot in it. I would recommend the 16 or 24 mg in whatever flavor you choose (put it in the comments).

Jen, I thought I was over my "ordering" addiction after 6 months of stockpiling... Now I want to try the cartomizers, Tw's -platinum Ice and Krystal ecopure Ha!... Maan, I just need to become a vendor lol

I do know I have read about a few modders who can make an adapter for any of your ecigs so they you would be able to use the cartomizers... I definitely plan on trying that route.. I'm curious as to how a cartomizer would burn on my 5v mod...

I am sure you would go through them faster then on a regular battery, but these cartomizers are wonderful - easily twice as long lasting as 510 carts even with the dripping and topping off that I did. They are great on my manual passthough (without inline battery) which is high voltage. I would definately try it! You might post the question on our forum here, we have a lot of techno guys who could answer you much better then I lol!
