I discovered this weekend that I can no longer change my adapters on the Indulgence as the 801 adapter seems to be stuck to the thread cap-I usually vape with a 801, but when I tried removing the 801 to fit a 510,it was impossible- I soaked the treadcap with adapter in hot water, tried loosening it with pliers. sparyed silicone oil, but no go. Is there something else I can try to loosen the adapter from the thread cap?

Is the cap plastic? Could the atty have melted the plastic and fused to it? This is not good.

And just to clarify.. reg atty works fine at the 3.7 but not at the 6v for safety measures? I can live with that. When I order I am getting the extended cup for the longer life batteries at 3.7 and use a LR atty to try out simulated 5V vaping but mostly use regular atties. I have no plans to use 6V.

edit: would also like to request you ship the kit with an extra cap... only fair as the picture on the site still shows the 4 separate caps and that is one of the things that first drew me to it. I understand there were problems with the fully assembled caps so now you provide one cap for all... but an extra thrown in there would not hurt in case one does not work properly..

hmm thats what I stated basically.
PCB
But my 510 901 401 801 808 all work at 6v on the indulgence hehe.
I must have got lucky with all this stuff.
901 at 6v I like. almost as much as my 401 at 3.7v lol

yes. like many of us, you assumed it was the batteries,
and ultimately the PCB safety mechanism kicking in---

thanks for everyones help on this.........

have you tried twisting it? it happens to me from time to time too (almost every time:yawn:)

The action of twisting it:

with the thumb on the bottom and the pointing finger on the thread bit, and try twisting it

Vapboy,
I am not able to twist it- I used this method when I started out on the Indulgence- It seems that with time elapsed, it is stuck (like glued to the thread part of the cap). I don't want to use force, as I am likely to break the cap. As you know, the Indulgence comes with only 1 threadcap.

lay it on a hard surface with the sticky out bit down
put your hand on top of it and press down-

it should pop out
mine does this sometimes,

but it pops out ok.

yes, I only smoke at 3.7v

I use the extendec cup with 18650 battery if I am mobile,

and passthru most of my life -------

love it

love it

and no, we have had no problems whatsoever with the end cap..

and it is metal.

This is the answer we got from the engineer ---------

the regular 510 atomizer ohm is 2.1 , too low,
and so the PCB inside shuts down the power automatically for protection --------

that is why if we put the other normal atomizer which is from 2.7 to 3.3.,( 801 901 401 )

and the HV attys which are designed for this HV -(6V) vaping -----
they work just fine.

it is a safety protection mechanism,-- in the PCB .
so Di,if the problem is just a (protection mechanism),why the regular atty works at 7.4 volts????;)
the protection should be more at 7.4v rather than 6v !!
or i am wrong ??

also my regular 901 atty dont work at 6v , and work at 7.4v !!

what can I tell you

I have no technical knowledge

I report what I am told.

I don't have an Indulgence (yet) so correct me if I'm wrong.
3.7v = 1x3.7v battery = all works
6v = 2x3v batteries = doesn't work
7.4 = 2x3.7v batteries = does work

It is the protection mechanism (in the 3v battery itself) which is stopping it from working.

Using a normal 510 at 6v would produce 17watts which will obliterate your juice anyway

A hv 510 atty will bring it down more into the sweet spot of 8-10watts.

I think this is what the engineer was trying to convey in his reply -

I have just tested mine

I have got the latest one from the shop,

Titanium, 6v extended cup - 2 x 3V 1000 mah batteries ----

with 510 regular atty - nothing

with 901 regular atty fantastic
with regular 801 atty fantastic

with 401 regular atty - nothing

so I conclude that the 510 and 401 atty
ohm is 2.1 , too low,
and pcb kicks in and shuts it down .

but with the 801 and 901 it works just fine.

I am no technical genius,
but this is just my findings.

See posts #141, #143, # 145. This is very frustrating- The threadcap with the 801 adapter affixed, is stuck- I have tried all methods possible to loosen the adapter, except for a hammer and chisel. This makes the Indulgence useless, as there is no draw. I think the 2 holes on the adapter does not align with the atty after trying to loosen it. I am not able to use either a 3.7v, 6v or 7.4 v as I only received ONE threadcap for all these uses.
Can I please have a replacement threadcap and 801 adapter?
Order 8514
