I have an Orchid tank that got insulator heat damaged. Melted and blackened on one side(coil to close)
Unable to find a suitable replacement. I trimmed carefully with a Razor knife to clean it up and get the bubbling away from future coils.
That was 8 months ago, and I use the tank as my ADV tank daily. :D

Op is missing the point of RDA differences and capabilities.
This new RDA can vaporize Much more liquid than the Helios and has Far superior Air Flow.
These things must be taken into account in build and usage.

OP -
Single coil -Try vaping with one finger covering the opposing hole to direct maximum air over the Coil.

This RDA is best used as a Dual coil due to obstructive center post.

Stumpy is a good example of a RDA that can run 1 coil and Dual air slots. The 2 post design allows centering the coil between the Air openings.
(Ask how I know:D)
Haha. How did you know?

Will try covering off the opposition hole. Is using it in single airflow mode the same?

Water and soap. Gave it a few scrubs and sit to air dry for a day.
Other than building the helios exactly the same, comparing side by side and adjusting air flow to match on this new atty, I'm out of ideas.

Unless you happen to have some pg or vg laying around and can mix it 50/50 with a ml or so of your juice to try.

Feel free to read through the thread again and try ideas you haven't yet.

Also don't shoot yourself in the foot if this just isn't the rda for you.

Good luck.

LOL - yea, I have several Stumpy and find they deliver Great flavor on a single coil build, while delivering excellent Vapor from utilizing both Air openings.:)
I get a cooler, yet more filling Vape this way.

Is There a Single Air flow sleeve included? o_O That blocky center post almost guarantees air from the opposing side goes up without passing over the coil.
Basically reducing Functional Air Velocity by 50% efficiency.

It's like spraying a fire with a Garden hose with a finger over the end and 1/2 the water missing the fire.

You want All your air Flow crossing the coil not only to Draw in the Vapor but to assist in Cooling the coil while increasing wick action.
People miss the Fact that Air flow through the RDA does effect wicking.
The Vacuum effect positions the contents(liquid) allowing for quicker wetting.

So - increase wicking ability and increase cooling ability for a Smoother Vape.

Hi everyone. Update. Well, not really since I am still facing the same issue lol.

I can confirm that it is not the coils or wick I am using. Have used various types including the pre-made coils that came with the rda.

I have tried many types of coil builds. Those that don't require a drill at least. Parallel, micro, spaced, low ohms, compact etc. Probably did 20+ coils in 1 night, just testing. So even if it was user error, I should have at least gotten 1 right. Even went back to my noobie days when I placed the cotton this way ||||||, allowing the cotton to break easily. (I know, im dumb)

Now it seems to be affecting all my attys. Really strange why I am the only one facing this weird phenomenon, ever since I've gotten the alliance.

All I really noticed is that the coils ramp down slower than usual. (I think... since It has been 2 months from getting anything that works.) the coils also heat up at the post. Not sure if that is suppose to happen but the pre-made coils stopped that issue. The pre-made coils were slightly better but not much to make a difference. I tried to vape till it was bone dry as a test I do in the past to see if it was working, but could never come remotely close to it with any of the builds. It was always frying the juice then the wick. Also, hot spots are visible when the burnt hits occur (should this happen?) but fixed that as well with other builds. Hissing can be heard after every vape which I know that something is gonna be wrong with the build.

So what should I do now? I am really clueless and feel pretty dumb. I honestly feel like quitting and going back to analogs at this point after wasting so much juice, wick, wire and especially time on this.

You sure you Mod isn't taking a Dump?

Maybe your blasting more wattage than indicated.
I had ask him that, and believe he said that he took the problem atty and tried on a different mod with same results

I thought shorting could be the issue but its been a problem with 2 attys now. I made sure that it screws down tight.
So 2 different attys have the same problem? And if you take those same 2 attys and put them on a different mod, it's also having issues? If that's the case, then all your devices are defective (not likely) or its in your mind (again not likely) or its the way your vaping it (probably not) . If not those, then it seems like it has to be either the juice, cotton, or some bad kanthal? Your not vaping nickel wire by mistake?

Not that I know of I think. Its the kanthal roll. I tried with higher vg and lower but same results. Higher vg is probably worst as it gunks it. The greentea has the lowest vg.

As I fire it without vaping, i can see the wick slowly drying up and once I stop, the wick is actually absorbing juice into the center coils. Then it cooks the wick leading to burnt hits. Should I call an exorcist?

When your watching this wick thing while your not vaping, are you just firing it without blowing? Or is there some airflow going on? Maybe in a dripper it's different but if I fire an rta without airflow, it will cause a funk . But I guess what your seeing is also happening when your vaping, so it's the same. it seems like your coil is creating some major hotspots and cooking juice and that usually is a short , but in all of your gear, not likely .Yep exorcism
