Lightbulbs. That is all...I know. *hangs head in shame*
As bad as it was, look at the bright side. Two of them, actually. One, it wasnt worse. And two, I bet she wont be doing it again.Good evening Posse!
I had a horrendous scare with Xena this afternoon! She was being bad, and pulled my cell phone off the table by the cord and I scolded her. I should have known to watch her, because a few minutes later she was squealing up a storm. She had the cord from the small fan I have blowing on the computer in her mouth, and couldn't let go! There was something sitting on top of it, so I couldn't yank it out of the wall fast enough, so I had to unclench her jaws to get it out. She is fine now, just a little burn on her lips, but I think I lost a few years off my life.:
Pix. We must have pix of the Witchdoctor in a tinfoil hat!!!Can't like the post Bamrz! How terrifying!
We're on our way out the door, something about fireworks and the boat. I'll bring my tinfoil hat, it looks like it's going to rain....
I miss living with my dad on the river. They used to shoot fireworks from just the other side of the bridge, and we had a GREAT view from the boat dock. Mrs E and I spent our first 4th of July together on that dock. We werent a couple then, but it was still the first one. SEVENTEEN YEARS AGO!!!! And we havent missed one apart from each other since! She's made a trip to Great Lakes, IL, and another one to NYC to keep the streak going, but in 17 years, through all of the schools and underway periods, and deployments, we've never missed a single one! Sure we have anniversaries and other important days, but the 4th is the ONLY one we can say we've been there for all of them. And we are not going tonight. But we are on for Saturday. Fishing, a picnic on the lake, and they always shoot the fireworks over the lake. It looks amazing from the water. I'm excited!
Hehe. No, not yet. The next two days will involve all of my .... smokin'. Two butts tomorrow. Two more Friday. I wouldve rubbed my butts tonight to let the spices soak into the meat, but I misjudged the thaw time. Two are mostly frozen, two are partially frozen. Neither will accept a good rub, so I'll have to do it first thing in the morning.James never came back tonight. Maybe he was smoking his .....
*tiptoes in, turns on lights, looks around......backs out slowly while whispering incoherently to myself*
We had a last minute trip to a minor league baseball game. One of my players had a birthday a couple of days ago, and her mom invited us to go to the game, where they put her name up on the scoreboard, then dragged her on the field for the whole stadium to sing Happy Birthday to her.She ALMOST didnt go. In fact, she flat out refused. Until her mom sent me a text to come down to where they were ready to go out. She looked at me and said "NO! I wont do it!!" I said "fine, but your mom has already given me permission to throw you over my shoulder and carry you out there if I have to." Maaaaan, if looks could kill! Thankfully, they were directed at her mom, and not me! She walked out on her own, and was grinning from ear to ear when she came back.
After the game, there was a flag presentation by a couple of vets representing each branch of the armed forces. Then all of the fans sang each branch's "fight" song. CJ thought it was awesome when Mrs E said "Thats Daddy's song!" for the Navy one, and "Thats Pop pop's song!" for the Air Force. "Thats Uncle Cory's song!" for the Marines. And "That's Uncle Steve's song" for the Army. Yep... We are a VERY proud flag waving family.
That was all followed by an awesome fireworks display set to music. It was a good night.
