Hi guys, I hope everyone is doing well. I'm not even going to ask what I missed. I can't even remember the last time I was able to pop in here. The good news is that we've said goodbye to the last of the bed and breakfast guests and the inn is closed for the season. Phew, what a not relaxing summer.
The other good news is that I have my first, written all on my own, app in the Apple App Store and hopefully before too long there will be a sister version in Google Play. I told my boss I can die happy now. Not really, but I've been pushing for this for a couple of years and I am pretty pleased about it.
So... what's new?

Hiya peoples.
9 hours of work, done. Our HVAC vendor decided to set off the fire alarm today. Thankfully, I had the fire suppression system turned off. I heard the alarm and went running into where he was doing the work. He was holding the discharge abort button, struggling to take his phone out to call me. When I told him he could let go, he asked "But I didnt even ask you to turn it off!" Yeah, thats because you idiots have set off the alarm when you were just changing air filters. Never again will they do work with the fire suppression system on. Ever.
Got home, scarfed down some dinner, and went to the ballfield. I got there in time to see two innings of Melanie's game. She was playing catcher, complete with all of the gear. She was so darned cute, crouched down behind the plate. AND she got a really good hit!
Then it was time for Kat's team's game. Kat still cant play, thanks to her knee. We were playing a team that is stacked with a combination of players that are on a travel team and the local school team. This team went through last season's championship undefeated. AND WE DID GREAT!!! We lost, but WE DID GREAT!!! I am beYOND proud of those girls. The final score was 12-4, but we made them WORK for those 12 runs. They had one girl that CREAMED a ball WAY into center field. And she was BOOKIN' it around the bases. My center fielder flung the ball from nearly 200 ft out, straight into the pitchers glove, who turned around and threw a bullet to the catcher, who dropped her knees 2ft in front of the plate in a picture perfect block of the runner's slide into home. It....was....AWESOME. If these girls keep playing like this, we will have a win against bigger, better, faster, and stronger players. And it may be sooner than any other team in the league would have ever guessed. Myself included.
Now, we get to put the kids in bed, then I get to leave to go to work in about 45 minutes. ::sigh:: Hopefully, we can get the work done quickly so I can get home and get a nap in before I have to be back to work at 7:00.

It's a gift guide app, the suggested gifts being curated by one of the departments in my company. Nothing thrilling, trust me. The thrill is not in WHAT it IS, just in THAT it IS.
