I imagine it's hard work. 
She'll be up and turning it tomorrow. The site says they will both incubate it, this is fun to watch. Now we have 30-35 days until hatch day.

Time to brave the -11 and go see the show. I'm not dressing up, my Packer sweatshirt is warm. Mr. V said he hopes they let me in. 
Yea I must have just missed it. Last I looked they were making a hole in the nest. Bummer should have kept watching. Have fun at the show FV.

Hmmm, and there are 34 days until spring, coincidence??I imagine it's hard work.
I have to say she did look a bit different this afternoon. When I saw her, she was settled into the nest, not standing in it, and had her tail upright. It just looked a bit odd from how she had been behaving.
We saw it. She got up a little to turn it a couple of times.

We just watched the changing of the guard. I guess she had to go out and pretty herself up and look for some breakfast after sitting there all night long in the cold and blustery night.

It sure is cold and windy outside. Almost as bad as Wisconsin!

Good morning 9.8 at the shack. The cold isn't stopping the girls now that they started to lay. Shoveling done out back and Girls tended to. Next on my agenda is thawing the cold water for the kitchen sink. That's the only one that froze. Did I mention that my hubby's worthless.
Groceries done, finally. It's cold and windy here. I've gone room to room making a list of all the crud that needs to be cleaned out. It's quite a list. I need some major organizing help here. I'm going to try to tackle one thing a week until it's done. The office may take a month.

The dinner and show were so much fun last night. Our tablemates were a hoot as well.
Roasting beans, baking bread, and thinning of the bird herd is on the list for today. The old non-layers are going so that we can separate the Giants. Our boys have come of age and there are 11 of them. I need to rescue the pullets from them. They were trying to all jump in our arms to escape this morning. Poor girls. They will like their new "no boys allowed" digs.

After a trip to Lowes. For a heat gun and heat tape. Dozens of trips up and down the cellar steps, and lots of brush burns on my arms from trying to secure the heat tape to the pipe. I'm done and have water at the kitchen sink. Did I mention my hubbys worthless.
Nothing from the eggs that were to hatch on the 14th. I had bad vibes on these eggs and it looks like I was right. Bummer. I'll give a few more days but not looking good.
Only liked it because you got it fixed Drott. What a pain.
Bird problem solved without the loss of any lives. Mr. V got a lesson in sexing young Jerseys, which resulted in an actual count of 7 roos and 12 pullets. He saw big combs and counted as roos. I'm relieved. All hens except the Polish are now in the big coop/run with Elvis (thinks he died and went to heaven), Jersey roos have their own bachelor pad, and the polish have their condo. People have tired legs from running birds from pen to pen, but all is well in chicken land.
