I am soooooo glad the shopping trip with Morgan is over. It's a mad house out there today. I drudged through Claires, Charming Charlies, and Rue 21 with the girls. Then we went to Starbucks and the grocery store. Morgan wanted a pizza for dinner and cake for dessert. I got myself a turkey cobb salad for dinner. I've had turkey for two days and I'm tired of it. I think the kids ate most of what I brought home from my moms but there is still honeybaked ham in there. Last night since I had blown the past couple of days on the diet I decided to eat the rest of the fruit salad. I was still hungry so I heated up the last of the sweet potato casserole. I'm back on the horse today though. I'm gonna cringe when I get on the scales Monday night.

I've felt pretty good the past three days. Moving around without tipping over or running into stuff. I did have a small strange incident Christmas Eve middle of the night. Wrote it on the growing list of strangeness I need to take to the neurologist on the 6th. I'm calling Monday to see if they can get me in any earlier. I needed to be in now but they were booked up. Hoping maybe someone has canceled and they will have an earlier opening. I've got the MRI and CT scan on a disk in my purse to take to the neurologist. Hubby and I looked at it but couldn't make heads nor tails of it. All we could make out is that there is definitely a brain in my head.

Time to do more laundry and then go spend some Christmas money on Etsy.

My granny keeps the ham bone for soups and such. We had a honey baked ham this year and put half of it in the freezer to have another time.

My day has been fairly boring but good. Hubby came home so we watched Jurassic World. Right now he's trying to fix the dryer. It keeps cutting off and won't dry the clothes. Geesh, I sure hope we don't have to buy another dryer.

My mom and granny called me on speaker phone today. They wanted to know what I wanted out of granny's house before they let the rest of the family in to get what they want because they'll pick the place dry. I have absolutely no idea of what I would want. Really it's a matter of feeling like I'm being selfish for asking for something, especially since she isn't even dead. Quite a while back granny went through all of her jewelry and gave me a few things she knew I really liked. Granny knew I love her leather recliner so it will be moving into my living room soon. :D Oh and of course the vacuum sealer. Now every time I use it I will think of granny.

Drott, you need a hobby now. What did you always want to do but never had time?

I have the ham bone mingling in a vat of 15 bean blend right now. Tomorrow it will be soup. Then I can most of it for easy dinners. Yep, cheating.

Tiff, can you take a walk through and look again? Maybe you don't need to keep a bunch of her stuff. From my grandparents house I took one small thing. A cigarette dispenser of all things. It reminds me of how much fun we always had in their rec room, the dispenser was always there. It's a donkey.

Granny said the same thing, that I need to go up to the house. Like I said, I am getting the leather recliner. Looks like new. No one ever sits in it except my dad on the weekends. He naps in it. What I did tell her was that I want to make a shadow box of mementos. I made one for my papa when he died. It's hanging in the living room. I have stuff in there like a pair of his glasses, monogrammed hanky, his wallet with a pic of me when I was a baby (it was still in his wallet when he died and I was 35), his draft card, a picture of him and more that I can't think of off the top of my head. I guess I just don't want to take something that someone else might want or seem greedy for asking for something. I already have a couple of big things that she gave me several years ago. I have her cedar chest at the foot of my bed. Papa gave it to her when he was in the Korean War. And I have an old radio chest. The only way I know to describe it is that it is a chest looking thing with the lid that comes up. Inside of it it used to have a radio and the speaker came out a decorative hole in the front. We have it full of ammo right now. Do you know what I'm talking about? It used to belong to her mom, my great grandmother.

I know the kind of radio you mean. :) My mom gave one to a friend of ours and they made it into a cabinet of some sort.

And I have a couple of shadow boxes that I've added some of my mom and dad's smaller things into. My mom's old Zippo with her initials on it, my dad's fireman badge... and a VERY old cigar, still in the wrapper.

Good morning. No dogs so no work today. I didn't want to go anyway.

Today hubby is supposed to look at the dryer to see if he can fix it. He also said that he was probably going to go look at some guns. I'm going to be a little more frugal and go to the dollar tree.

Good morning! So far we haven't gotten the snow that the weatherliar called for. It's all good!

It's short sleeve weather here right now. :D

Hubby just called and said he'd be a while. They didn't have the gun he was looking for where he went so he called all over the place and found one in Butler, GA. Never heard of it. Undoubtedly it's about 75 miles from here. He's heading there now. It's a auto parts / gun store.
