 Send him up here, Victor will tire him out.

Apollo and Ruger have finally started playing together. I think he wore Ruger out too. He's sound asleep on the couch. I put Apollo back in his kennel for a little while. I'm thinking I may need a nap.

I've gotten a ton of stuff done today already so I'm about ready to call it a day on house work. The kids helped me get it done and now they're in their own world. I'm about go hibernate in my own world too. I need some toothpicks to hold my eyes open.

Beef stew sounds great but I've never had split pea soup. I'm going to put some pinto beans in the crockpot tomorrow morning.

I just woke up after 2 hours. I'm still having trouble keeping my eyes open and I'm soooo cold. I've got three layers on and I'm shivering. I sure hope I'm not getting sick.

I'd fallen asleep in the chair here, woke up to a couple of kids wanting to shovel my sidewalk/driveway! :w00t: They finished about 5pm and it's still snowing, but they did get the worst of it.

I picked up some smoked ham hocks to go in the split pea soup, it came out really good!

I hope you're not getting sick Tiff. :(

Good evening all. We didn't get much snow at the house, but we did get enough ice to take down several trees and a net at a golf course. A lot melted today, but the temps are back under freezing again, which means the roads are going to be horrible tomorrow. The kids did manage to squeeze in two days of sledding though. They tried snowmen, but it didn't work with all the ice. And snowball gifts were out of the question. It would've been like throwing ice cubes the size of baseballs. I don't need a trip to the hospital for a concussion by snowball.

Mrs E is absolutely exhausted. Her store has been completely wiped out. And with bad roads, the vendors haven't sent any trucks to restock the shelves yet. And it's not just milk and bread. It's pretty much everything.

I made smores bars today. Kinda like rice crispy treats, but made with crushed Golden Grahams and topped with melted chocolate. It turned out pretty darned yummy. I also had to make an experimental dinner. Mrs E had ground pork thawed out for dinner and told me to "Iron Chef" it. So I made kind of a sloppy Joe type thing using barbecue sauce. It came out pretty good, too.

Tomorrow I plan on doing nothing but watching football. Fingers are crossed that my boys can hold off Arizona so they can make it to the Super Bowl. I'm ready to finally say they've won a Super Bowl. And year is the best chance they have that I've ever seen.

FV, I don't know how you live there... I don't mind cold, but what you live with up there goes beyond cold.

Tiff... good luck with the pup. You're a brave soul after hearing about Victor's exploits!

Everyone else, stay warm. Be safe. Have a goodnight!!!!

I think so here too. :) Judging by the bench in my front yard, looks like we got about a foot.

Wish We only got a foot.

It's bit chilly out but nothing compared to what you guys have up north. We're heading out to Petsmart later to get a squirrel toy. It's Ruger's favorite toy and Apollo has claimed it. We need some miscellaneous stuff there as well. After that we are going to my granny's old house to pick up a couple pieces of furniture she gave me. A nice leather recliner and a sturdy book case. I'm not sure where the book case will go but I'll find room for it somewhere. I'm going to have to do some rearranging in the dining room tomorrow so the new kennel will fit in there somewhere. It should be here from Amazon by Tuesday.

Apollo woke me up super early so now I need a nap. Hubby's home so he has puppy duty.

Done with the snow blower. I wish we had a foot of snow instead of a lot more than that. The snow blower works just fine with 12 inches but when you are trying to get through 3-4 foot drifts it takes a shovel also to knock it down some. The only thing left to do is to wait for the plow to go past and close the end of our driveway again. Then we can re-shovel it open. :-x The mail box is across the street and usually gets blasted/smashed by the flying snow coming off the plow blade. Mrs Punkin had a great idea by piling the snow along side the mail box to protect it from the plow. It looks like it is in a snow bunker. :)

Seriously thinking of breaking down and getting a snow blower for next year. Could make shoveling paths to the coops much easer. Down side I'd have to store it and shovel to the shed to get it out.

No need to shovel out the snow blower. As long as you can get the door open just fire it up there and start your path coming back. ;)

Good morning!!!! Glad everyone survived the storm, even though it's a pita to clean up after. We didn't get any new snow, and it's supposed to be around 30 for the next few days. We'll be firing up the grill tonight. :D

I have to go to Wallet Mart today. Please pray for all involved.
