Stretchy, you need to get your governor on the phone, stat. This is his response to a proposed HUGE tax on e-cigs.
Thank you for your correspondence regarding your thoughts on the proposed tax increase on tobacco products in the 2014 Mid-Biennium Review. I appreciate hearing from you.

Since taking office three years ago, the legislature and I have cut Ohioans' taxes by $3 billion. We have eliminated the death tax which lets family farmers and small business owners pass on their enterprises to the next generation. Additionally, virtually all small business owners in Ohio who receive a profit from their business can deduct 50% of that income up to a cap of $250,000, and by 2016, every Ohioan who pays taxes will see their income tax cut by 10 percent.

Thanks to these and other jobs-friendly policies, Ohioans have created 238,000 private-sector jobs in the past three years. At 6.5 percent, Ohio's unemployment rate is below the national rate and is at the lowest level since June 2008.

Advancing the policies that are getting Ohio back on track is essential to strengthening and broadening the benefits of our economic recovery. The 2014 Mid-Biennium Review furthers those policies by proposing additional income tax cuts and overdue tax reforms.

Over two years, the cigarette tax would go from $1.25 to $1.85 per pack and the tax on other tobacco products—such as the previously untaxed e-cigarettes—would rise to a level equivalent to the cigarette tax. This change, along with other proposals, would cut income taxes across all income levels by 8.5 percent over the next three years, bringing Ohio's top income tax rate below 5 percent.

Ohio's income taxes are too high and are a barrier to new job creation. Thanks to $3 billion in tax cuts, modernizing our tax code and other pro-growth policies, Ohio is getting back on track. However, additional tax cuts are needed so that Ohioans can keep more of their hard-earned money and more funds are available for economic growth, investment and job creation.

Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact my office.

Sincerely,
John R. Kasich
Governor

Thanks Stretchy. "Fixing" the budget through the wallet of vapers is a really wrong idea. I appreciate you getting involved, most people just wait for someone else to do it.

Jake is the same this morning, Doc said 24 hours for the shot to start working. So hopefully this afternoon he can feel his back feet again. Getting old is hard on all of us, dogs included.

Post them Tiff, we'll help!

I feel like I've been to China and back today. I ended up not having to work so I went to granny's early to take one of her dogs to the vet. Granny said that out of no where she'll start screaming, no whimpering or whining, screaming. She won't let granny touch her when she does this. I took her to the vet and after full body xrays and a urinalysis it was determined that she may be trying to pass a kidney stone. We have pain meds to give her.

Once back at Granny's I started cleaning. When I finished that I took her to lunch and then to the store. After the store I took her to a doctor appointment and then she wanted to go by the local b&m vape shop to get a couple of aspire tanks. When we finally got back to her house we were both beat. I'm home now and have beef stew going in the crockpot. It actually smells good and it's WW friendly. I lost another two pounds this week for a grand total of 11 so far.

Hubby took Morgan out today and bought her a new jacket and got lunch. She needed a heavier jacket but of course he didn't bargain shop. He bought her a North Face jacket. Geesh, between my sister buying her clothes and sending hubby to buy her a jacket she dresses better than any of us here.

They had a $65 tank at the vape shop. He was running it at 18 watts. I don't get the watts thing. I stick to volts and that's as far as my understanding goes. I have one tank now that I've got Truly in and I can't get rid of the burnt taste. I've adjusted the voltage and the coil is brand new. Any ideas? I guess the coil could be bad.

Which ones?

I'll post them in a bit.

Howdy ho y'all! What'd I miss???

We've been kinda stupid busy. We've had the interwebz back on for a week, but I just havent had the chance to log on.

We are kind of moved in, but not really.... We have pretty much everything we need to live here, but we still havent completely cleaned out a single room in the old house.

Last week, Kat and Melanie both ended up with a 24 hour stomach bug and spent a full day puking.

Weather.... holy wow....weather.... We got about .5 to.75 inches of sleet and ice Monday night. Then today got up to about 40 degrees, so most of it has thawed and dried. Tonight they are calling for 4 degrees. FOUR degrees.... IN CHARLOTTE!!!! Who in the HECK decided to move Wisconsin to North Carolina!?!?!??! I moved to SC/NC to stay away from stoopid cold. Cold, I can deal with. Stoopid cold, not so much. We saw a little bit of snow fall today. And then.... Saturday is probably going to bring us more "wintery mix"... With highs that MIGHT touch 20. IN NORTH CAROLINA!!!!!

Anywho..... House Blend is still delicious. And Commander Awesome Approved.
