Happy half day!!!!

Yep. I took a half day off today for an eye doc appointment, so I'll be leaving at 11 this morning. Im gonna go home and Mrs E and I are going out to lunch. She thinks we deserve a quiet lunch with no kids. She's been pretty busy at work too. She's worked for 10 or 11 days straight. The days that she's had off, the store called and asked her to come in to cover a shift. The "fun" part about it, after she gets there, they would make someone else go home to cut back on hours. Oh well. It's worked out in our financial favor, if not our personal favor. She'll be at 40 hours by the time she leaves work tomorrow. That many hours for a part time employee in that store is unheard of. Another good thing about her going in when they call, is that they manager is more likely to honor her requests for certain days off. That means that she'll get to watch several of Kat's tournaments. Something she's had problems doing in the past.

I think after lunch, she and I will head to the old house to sort through as much of the pictures and paperwork in the basement that we can. Im hoping we can at least seperate out everything we want to keep and whats going to trash. We'll load up what we can, but Im more concerned with sorting through it today. Tomorrow should give us a good chance to start moving it out. If we can get through this last little bit, we'll be left with nothing but the outside stuff left to move. Of course, that includes the grill, lawn mower(s), firepit, firewood (no fireplace at the new house, but Im keeping a lot of the wood to use in the firepit), and a 15' trampoline that has to be dismantled before it can be moved. Oh, and whatever odds and ends that are still sitting in the car port. Yep. The fun never stops.

More rain in the forecast for today and tomorrow. But Sunday through next week looks like its going to be really nice.

Since I went on a work strike yesterday after the wonderful news from DC, I should probably get to work so I wont be so far behind Monday.

I hope you all have a great day!

I'd be screaming all the way down the street. I hate crickets.
Yesterday I grabbed a handful of mail from the tray to sort into the PO boxes, I looked down and there was a BUG on the mail! I tossed the whole freaking handful and made a screech. It was a cricket....

I jsut filed my taxes. It's a puny refund but I'm relieved we don't have to pay. If it weren't for my mileage to and from work then we would have. Since Alex turned 17 last year we couldn't get the child tax credit. We can still claim him as a dependent thankfully.

I'm almost done w=with my skirt. I'm thinking of adding a matching fabric edge ot the t shirt sleeve.
