Good mornin' all. Its Monday. And it's going to be a rough one. It was a LONG weekend, and 5am came WAAAAAY too early.

The girls did so-so in the tournament. True to his word, he didnt let Kat play. He ALMOST let her play Sunday. If they had played a second game, I'm pretty sure he would have because a couple girls are sick, and a few more are injured, and Kat was the most likely one able to play through the injury. Anywho, they won their first two pool play games Saturday. The first game was a nail biter. They won 1-0. It was an emotional win for our girls because a couple weeks ago, that was the team that said we had no business being on the field with a true A-Bracket team. The second game was good for us mainly because of coaching errors from the other team. Final score was 6-1. That gave us the #1 Seed for the elimination rounds. The first game in the eliminations put us against the same team we beat 6-1. I truly believe we fell victim to them sandbagging in the pool play game, and just utter dirty coaching in the second game. They won the coin toss and chose home team, scored 4 runs against us in the first two innings. We finally got one across the plate in the second inning. With about two minutes left in the game, the game was tied, they were at bat, two outs, runner on third, and two strikes on the batter. At the last second, they made their runner step off the base for an intentional out before their batter could be struck out. Normally when something like that's done, it's a mercy thing. Instead of one team just running around through the lineup several times, a coach will intentionally pull a player off the bag to kill the inning if its clear the other team just can't defend against the run. This time, it was done just to force another inning under tiebreaker rules. We were able to score one run. Then they scored one run. Into the SECOND tiebreaker inning. We scored three. I thought that was going to be enough. I was wrong. Two outs, bases loaded, full count. And their girl just crushes the ball deep into left field and clears the bases. Now, I'm not taking anything away from the player with an AMAZING hit. But our left fielder was one of the sick girls, and it took her too long to recognize where the ball was going and start moving. If she was 100%, it wouldve been stopped at a double and not a homerun. But, that was enough to get four of their girls across the plate for a final score of 10-11. That game that was scheduled for an hour, ended up being nearly two and a half hours long. It was a little after midnight by the time we got back home.

Sunday was an early start. Out the door by 7. It was against a team that I knew would give us a run for our money, but just werent up to our level of talent. I was wrong. They were just too exhausted from the night before to be able to play as well as they normally do. The errors made were physical errors, not mental ones. Things like bad throws and missed catches were too common. But they were always where they were supposed to go. Hence, physical and not mental. That game ended up being a loss of 8-5.

When we got home at about 2:30, EVERYONE took a much needed nap. By the time I woke up, I realized that my face was very much sunburned. So, I'm rockin' the raccoon look for the next couple of days.

I'm making Kat take the week off from practice. Instead, I'm going to take her to the gym to work on a few exercises to try to strengthen her core in an effort to relieve her back pain. If this doesnt work, we're going to have to take her to a specialist and pray that he doesnt say "No more softball".

And this concludes James' morning novel that no one ever really reads anyway. ;)

Great news Tiff can see again. Been thinking of ordering from them. But don't know my PD and afraid I'll mess up measuring it.

Drott, your eye Dr can give you the PD. I made sure to ask mine when I got my prescription, otherwise they just write it and assume you'll be going in person.
