Tiff, what do you use pepper jelly on? Is it really hot? Do you leave the seeds in or remove them?? (I know, so many questions!)

I eat pepper jelly with cream cheese put on a ritz cracker. I've heard of some people using it as a garnish with pork chops. It can be as hot or mild depending on what kind of peppers you use and if you leave the seeds in or not. We are making jalapeno pepper jelly this time and we took the seeds out. I will probably do the banana peppers and pablono (sp?) peppers next and will probably leave in the seeds since they're a bit milder.

I've actually accomplished a good bit so far today. I cleaned my sister's house early this morning. That took a couple of hours because I was being slow today and lolly gagging around.

Alex is asleep with what he says is a stomach ache and nausea. He won't take pepto because he said it made him sick even though he was already sick when he took it. I got some immodium pills for him on the way home. I went in the Dollar General intending to get the medicine for him and a few drinks. $45 later I left

Since I've been home I have called the Job Corp to get info for Alex. They're supposed to be sending me some info in the mail. I also finally got a hold of someone from the state vocational rehab program. Part of qualifying for some of the services is based on parents income even though he is 18. I'm pretty sure we'll get turned down in that part of it. They also have another program that is not based on income but by disability needs and that's the program we would really like for him to qualify for. The basics of that program is he would go on "campus" and live for about 6 months while getting training in different vocational areas and also learn life skills. Keeping my fingers crossed even though Alex will pitch the fits of all fits. I'm supposed to be getting a letter in the mail from them that gives us the time and date of the assessment application meeting. Hopefully hubby will be home to help with the inevitable melt down that will accompany that. I don't in any way, shape, or form look forward to that at all. Please keep your fingers crossed that he doesn't have the melt down of the century and that he can qualify for some sort of services. We're still waiting to hear back about the SSI.

The last thing on my must do today list is fold and wash some laundry. I hear Alex up and on he computer so now I'm going to tell him to get off and do his school work. My opinion is that if he is well enough to play on the computer then he's well enough to do his school work. I know...I'm mean.

The on campus program would be really good for Alex. Think of all the new skills he'd learn! And the peace in your house would be priceless.

AMEN!!!!

I agree that it would help him immensely and yes a little peace would be really good!

He's have withdraws from the computer for sure. That is another reason for him to go and to hopefully see that he is missing so much in life and that his independence is up to him to attain.

Well folks, it's that time of day again. Too much going on with the kids to even get to the gym this evening. I have to go home, pick up Melanie since Mrs E has to be at work by 5. Then go to the middle school to pick Kat up from volleyball conditioning/practice. Get home, fix dinner, and be back out the door by 7 to have Melanie at softball practice at 7:30 until 9:00.

I think Mrs E was able to get everything cleaned out of the bedrooms she needed to get cleaned out for the exterminators to come by tomorrow. If not, I'll be working on that from 9:30 until bedtime. Ungh. Yeah. We are DEFINITELY ready for this to be done with.

Drott! How did the wings turn out?!

Super busy day at the hut. I feel a Mikes coming on when I get home.
ANGRY ORCHARD!!! Or Red's Strawberry Ale!

While we were at my dad's Sunday afternoon, I went to his fridge to get a bottle of water, and saw two Angry Orchard bottles. I grabbed them both, popped the cap off, and then went outside and told dad that I was taking them and he didnt have a choice. :D I love Angry Orchard.

Sorry FV, I only liked that because I'm shaking my head "Yup, people really are that dumb". :(
Sadly, they are. She didn't seem to realize they was anything past the US and was very confused about it. Actually, Illinois was the furthest thing she could grasp. I gave up and just smiled. Heaven help us all.

Well it looks like I am probably going to come of the medication I've recently and go on a different one. I've had some pretty major side effects from it starting with the UTI...Yep, that's what happened not sure how but it did and now it's back again. Then there was the whole episode last week where I was so dizzy I got sick and couldn't even drive myself home. That was quite an experience. Now most recently hubby told me that he thinks it is making me, how should I say it...stupid. It's messed with my thought process, concentration, and confusion. I have to admit I've noticed it too since I started the med. So this supposedly miracle drug that is plastered all over the tv with commercials is a big fail for me. Back to the drawing board..

Good morning all. Happy middle of the week.

Today's the day. Hopefully the beginning of the end of bedbugs in our house. I know I've said it already, but MAN we are ready for this to be over and done with. I was up past midnight last night removing wall outlet and switch covers, moving furniture, emptying dressers and closets... I am so tired right now.

Even though I'm this tired, I'm still hoping I can get to the gym this evening. I almost feel guilty for not going yesterday. Almost.

I did get to drive the Camaro today! Even though she's been sitting for a few weeks, all I had to do was hook up some humper cables and hump off the car, and she fired right up! As you would expect her to do when you hook up the humper cables. (Love you Tiff!!!)
Unfortunately, she's suffering. The engine runs like a dream, but she's starting to show her age. Faded paint on a fender. Trim and molding falling off. T-tops not sealing. What little headliner a t-top car has is falling off. She's got a shimmy in the drivetrain over 70mph. My baby. :( Mom keeps saying she's going to have her repainted and have all of those little things fixed... I dunno if she actually will though. As much as I love that car, and as much work and sweat and blood as I've put in to it, the car really just isnt worth that much work and money. But, we'll see, I guess.

Tomorrow the temps are supposed to be even lower than they're calling for today, which means MOTORCYCLE!!! Probably on Friday, too! Three days driving toys to work this week! Not too shabby!

Tiff.... Blech... Just, blech.

FV, you ought to hear about the kinds of calls my buddy gets. He's an IT Administrator for Pelican Products out in LA. I'm sure you get your fair share of stupid.... but I can almost guarantee you dont see the level of stupid he does. It's BAD. REALLY bad.

I guess I better get busy... If I sit here too long, I'll end up falling asleep at the desk. Again.

Y'all have a great day!!!

Exterminators are done doing their thing for round 1. He said he would treat the bunk beds as best he could, but they might need to get thrown away. I said screw that. If it comes down to it, we'll just use some joint compound and seal off all the cracks, crevasses, creases, and seams, then paint it with a semi-gloss paint. We just dont have the money to replace the beds. But on a good note, he sprayed the stairs and the two carpeted rooms downstairs, and none of that was in the contract. They'll call back in about a week to a week and a half to ask if we've seen any more. After two weeks, they come back out again to re-spray to take care of anything that may have been missed, then they call one more time to ask if we see anything. They'll come out a third time right before the end of their 30 day guarantee if needed. Still. This should be the beginning of the end of this particular nightmare.

Didn't like the ailing car part, but I did like the good stuff.

Happy Hump Day!!!!!
That's about how I looked at it too!

That makes me want to live in a bubble. I freak if I see an ant in the house.

Though we did just have a bat in the dining room. We waited for it to hang and go to sleep on the crown molding, then Mr. V gently caught it in a kitchen towel and took it outside. I like bats. Bugs, not so much.

Yeah, this was bad... Bugs dont bother me. As long as theyre outside. They live outside. I live inside. If it stays like that, I'm cool. Bugs inside...no. Ever. It really was nightmarish. After we treated everything ourselves and let the kids sleep in their beds again, I went to check on them... Melanie had dozens of them all over her. Mrs E was in tears because of it. And to top it off, we think Mrs E is allergic to bedbug bites. She had to go to the doc for a steroid shot and some super antihistamine pills to halt the allergic reaction. If it got much worse, it wouldve put her into anaphylactic shock. Night. Mare. All of it.

My dad had bats in his attic. Thankfully, I only have birds. :glare:

Testing teens. 47 scheduled. So far were 9 for 9.

Drott's dog shack on the move.
Thats a lottttttt of teens to test. Looking at numbers like that, I think we can all agree that its a good thing your putting in for your retirement.

Is that 9 for 9 pass, or 9 for 9 fail?
