Yeah it sounds hateful...I haven't read the whole thing but it sounds like any device made before 2007 is grandfathered, anything after has to go through some red tape BS which will end up giving ecigs to big tobacco.A part deems that if you don't sell the vaporizer with the juice your juice will have to go testing with each vaporizer on the market to see if it will blow up...I have no idea what that means..I've never heard of juice blowing up an e-cig so?? It's like 98 pages long and none of it good.I need directed to a good but easy wind your own coil atomizer.I have enough ProVari's as far as devices.I also bought an old fashioned mechanical mod just in case.Who knows what will hit the fan next...I want my country back..
me too

FV...

While I am stunned by this, I know that this will impact you and the other good people like you that helped me stop smoking those cancer sticks far more than it will me. At worst, I end up a smoker once more or using some vastly inferior product made by people that do not care about their customers.

I am so sorry to hear this, and I want you to know that I thank you for all that you have done for my wife and I over the last few years. I left the forums long ago, but you and yours will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh...My...God...

I want to cry in some respects. :(

Did I read that()&@&$)(; deeming to mean that anyone not a part of big tobacco will be forced out of the business by this?

I really hope I am missing something here.
Was just a mater of time. E cigs are a billion dollar industry. Surprised they kept their hands out of the pie this long.

I'm still reading but so far here's the cliff notes:

Everything that has anything to do with vaping is under the rule. That includes all hardware, wick, wire, etc. They wrote it so that vendors can't sell individual components so that you can mix your own. Like if I sold flavoring, PG, VG and nic base separately so that you could combine them into one bottle. That's forbidden.

Vendors have 90 days to implement strict age verification, online vendors that would mean having to send the packages so that the person receiving it has to show ID to get their package. This is going to make shipping quite a bit more expensive right off the bat.

Vendors have 24 months to submit their application and fee for each product. The fee appears to be 1 million dollars for EACH flavor, variation, etc. Within 36 months, even if the application has not been looked at, if you don't have approval you must pull the product off the market. And they keep your money. This will remove all small vendors from the market within this first 2 years. To even imagine the cost, take the number of flavors offered, now multiply it by the different strengths available, now x the different ratios. I don't know of a single vendor that has 100's of millions of dollars to send in for applications that may never get approved.

So unless somehow this is rolled back, the only vaping we will do in 2 years is stuff from the big tobacco companies.

Thousands of small businesses are about to be closed, all the employees out of work, countless people going back to smoking.

Heaven help us all.

OH NOOOOO!!!! Seriously, a million dollars??? So where in the hill will vapers get their supplies?

For a little while our friends like FV and others will be fine... But as I read this deeming, big tobacco just won. Even the largest vape shop with a few stores here in Austin does not have deep enough pockets to meet the requirements released today when the grace period expires.

It was the continued growth that did it I suspect... The govt. felt like they had to sAy something... and big business saw the growth curve had reached a critical mass and did not want to have to compete with the innovators that created the industry they wish to exploit. They got the FDA to do their hatchet job just as you said. :(

Allazar my friend, thank you so much. :)

We are still in the fight, sadly it feels like we are in a losing battle. We'll be here for the duration, until they force us to close our doors. Two years left at the max, after over 5 years of putting our heart and soul into this.

My concern is for all of the people that can't or won't DIY. And all the new people, that really need a safe place to start. And now that hardware and all incidentals are included, we are all going to be up the proverbial creek for supplies as well.

We'll take the first hit when we have to get ID, as everyone will have to show proof of age at delivery.

We don't have a million dollars for even one application, we've rolled profits back into the building and equipment. Some people think that mom and pop shops have been getting rich, but that's not true if they are doing the right things all along. We get by, but we sure aren't rich.

I suggest we all get behind CASAA right now, they are fighting to get the grandfather date changed. That would save most of us. We personally already abide by the child resistant tops, disclosure labeling, etc. We have juices at the lab being tested right now, but I hesitate to do anything further in the face of this.

We're not in a panic over here, but certainly are afraid of the future. :(

Yep, at Gander Mnt. I asked for two matching 9's and he freaked but fetched them for me. I'm going in to my local shop for a matching set of something else this time.
