Just got back from trap shooting. The sun was shining and snow everywhere. It was so bright out it was hard to see the tiny targets go flying from the trap house. I even get a sun burn on the right side of my face! Good times... :)

... hubby cut the grass,

I had to smile at this one. Hubby cut the grass. I know tomorrow is the end of Winter, yah, but I don't think I'll be cutting grass just yet. Have to wait till the snow melts so the grass can get some of this sun shine to think about starting to grow. But, the daffodils and tulips are showing some of their green stuff already.

We have mud, snow piles, and icy spots in the shade. Nothing green will dare peek out yet here. blech. Mr. V is fixing the ducky pool plumbing so it's easier to drain. I'll be happy to unplug their pool heater, hopefully soon. *fingers crossed* Their "pool" is a stock tank.

Aldi just arrived in this area. We tried them for the first time yesterday. What they have is nice and reasonably priced, but they don't have enough to do all the grocery shopping there. We will probably drop by for some things. I like them and I hope they succeed around here.

The "quarter for a cart, then you get the quarter back" is an interesting commentary on human nature in 2017. I take carts back to where they belong because it takes 30-60 seconds of my time and I feel like that's what civilized human beings do. I don't want to leave them in the parking lot wherever because they can roll and hit someone else's car. Also, I feel kinda bad for the employees who have to go out and lasso them, especially in bad weather. Apparently if they make it worth 25 cents, the people who don't care about doing the right things will bring them back. The logical conclusion is that their desire to do the right thing is worth less than 25 cents. This makes me sad.

We got an Aldi a few ago. We went once and I wasn't terribly impressed. Like Rick said, definitely not able to get all groceries there. My new favorite discount store is Ollie's. Have any of you heard of that one? It's got a ton of stuff. Reminds me of a Big Lots on steroids.

Trying to decide what to do with my me day tomorrow. Maybe a trip to Starbucks and sit for a while. A trip to Ollie's possibly. Ross, TJ Maxx....I don't know.

I did the purple streaks in my hair yesterday. It is very light, like a light lavender. Hubby said it looks gray. :glare: It took better in Morgans hair. It's fun to experiment.

That's 100% correct Rick.

The Aldi we went to takes plastic. They don't carry everything we need, but it did keep us out of Walletmart so I considered it a win.

It's muddy enough here for spring, and it's supposed to get up to 50 today. *fingers crossed* that winter is actually over here.

I feel a lot younger today. I just got yelled at by "mum" for getting a sun burn yesterday. "Now you stay out of the sun today or you'll get too much sun again!" Just like when I was a kid only this time "mum" is Mrs Punkin... So I asked, "Does that mean I can't go to the Grrrr store today?" Her response was, "Get in the car!"

We could actually get a free water ice today at Rita's, that is IF you could get near the place! Passed one on the way home and they had the right lane jammed for 3 blocks!

Decided to use up the rest of the cabbage and potatoes from St. Patrick's day. So I added hamburger rice and spaghetti sauce. Dumped it all in the slow cooker. Tastes like stuffed cabbage with out the work.
I do that too, and also add some frozen mixed veggies, a large can of kidney beans, and elbow macaroni. It's really close to the beef and cabbage soup we used to get at Shoney's in VA.

That sounds really good! I do have cabbage and potatoes left over, imagine that.

It's 57 outside! When it hit 50, we came home and processed 6 drakes. Mr. V is just finishing up, then we'll go back to work. They didn't pluck as nice as a chicken, but adding dawn dish soap to the scald water really helped.
Duck for dinner in a few days, woo hoo!
