What a nice lazy afternoon. I did do a bit of hutwork, but then hung out in the kitchen doing what I love to do, I cooked. Tortellini with homemade sauce, asparagus and garlic bread for dinner. With a nice glass (or two) of red wine. *hic*

The Prettiest in NeverNear
Good Morning...Rainy but kinds warm here this morning. My house smells like wet dog.. well because my dogs are wet. I'm going to use a little Patchouli in the warmer. Then curl up and binge watch Doc Martin on Netflix. For those who have never seen it,watch it for about 5 minutes. Doc Martin IS Mr. Crabbypants..Seriously. That's who I'm married to...
I would like some French Onion Soup and crusty bread today and I think I have everything to do that with.
Mr Crabbypants is in Georgia for the National Agility Championship. His co club friends from here in Nevernear are kicking Agility .....He's not doing so bad either. It would be so funny if they all three were ribboned.Nevernear is the size of a postage stamp but we are dog dedicated.

Good morning Stretchy! It's raining and 37 here. At least it's not ice or snow. But blech none the less.

French onion soup sounds really good, I'll have to go browse my kitchen and see if I've got stuff to make some.

Nevernear sounds as fun as Hutsville. I do have to report a new store in town, it's actually 2 in the same building. The front room is taxidermy and the back is a boutique. I nearly died laughing, you have to walk past deer and fish mounts to look at fashion. bwahahaha!!!!!

Drott's Dog House
Guess stuffed dead animals are more important in some places.:lol: The town near my grand parents homestead had 1 store. When you walked in it was hunting, fishing and trapping stuff. Then boots, flannel shirts and jeans. At the very back of the store was a meat counter. Off to the right was a 6ft by 6ft room with dry goods. life was so much simpler then.:lol:

We have a few stores that are still like that here, I love them. This one cracked me up because it's just the two things, which do not go together. The boutique is fancy stuff, not jeans.

I just tried this one, it turned out pretty good:
3 C Flour
1 Pkg Yeast
1 tsp salt
1 T Sugar
2 T oil (I use olive)
1 C warm water

I use a stone in the oven, heated to 400. Put the crust in for 5 minutes, then pull it out to top it. Back in and stare at it until it's done. 10 minutes or so when you pre-bake the crust.

I refuse to look at eggs.
