in the first month i spent less then $200.00 and have bought a lava tube an itaste several egos a couple of grippers
and juice. but i also sold some stuff to friends who wanted to start vaping so i end up not spending more.
Now come tax time i will order anice mod like a provari or something that will last a long time as well as a nice
solid mech mod like a telescope for when im working outside or on ladders where a nasty fall could happen

GREAT SCOTT!!!!

in NY a carton of marlboro's costs nearly 100$ (though on the indian reservations they run around 60-75$ and the indian branded cigs go for around 30$ a carton)

It's definitely possible to spend only $20 per month vaping once you get your initial equipment. It's $50+ for one carton of Marlboros.

I doubt I've spent 800 in almost 2 years. I guess I bought 200 in juices before I started buying bulk unflavored 24mg. I have an old Reo Grand (which I've worn the paint off of) and a couple Egos/510's. I did get a kick for the Reo which set me back 50. I'm guessing 750 total, vs the 3625 I would have spent on cigs in 2 years. The poor make do...

In just over 6 weeks since i stopped smoking I have spent around $400 on Vape stuff, my cigarette bill would have been over $1200.

In Australia its mega expensive to smoke now and it was costing me $210 per week.

$400 spent and i still have plenty of gear, $1200 on analogs would have been all up in smoke with a few full ashtrays to show for it!

Even if PVs and Juice were much more expensive than analogs i would still buy them rather than smoke again!

Looks like I've spent around $100/month on PV gear & juice. 9 months vaping so far, 10 months off cigs.

At the lowest I was a half PAD, PAD on the more intoxicated days. $7/pack depending on where I purchased them (American Spirit Blues or Blacks).

Averaging that, I would've roughly spent $1496 on cigs. So, $500-$600 still in the black. But with the lowest estimate (playing it safe I suppose) its closer to $200.

Though I did just catch myself looking at another provari for no reason. Already have a few things in order for the year.

My "expendables" cost has always been lower than what it was when I was smoking. I never really went crazy with the purchases though. Bought a cig-style to start and was onto the ego-style a month later and was happy with those. I tried many different cartos, but settled on the EMDCCs (for the most part).

Until about a month ago, I hadn't lost a single battery to failure or physical loss. About that "month ago"... one of my first egos finally crapped out (broken connection - fixable, but I'm lazy right now lol); and then about two weeks later I LOST two of my newer egos partying and a day or two later lost another with a PT... Maybe egos aren't "my thing" anymore lol

Since I started vaping I have seen so many changes in e-cigs. If you notice vapers are leaning toward DIY juice and rebuildable parts for devices, now you don't just loose money if one of your mods go bad and if you need juice you can make your own, so I feel that anyone that is smart will save money with vaping!:vapor: You also have something to show for your money and not just a bunch of burnt ashes and worthless filter!

Since I rolled my own(Could roll a pack in 10 min) at a cost of about $30.00 a month, I really don't see any savings. If anything it costs me more but well worth it. Cigarette tobacco is $65.00 a bag while pipe tobac is $19.00 a bag. HMMM. I would get 4 cartons a bag. About 10.00 a carton using pipe tobac. About 20..00 a carton with the more costly cig tobacco ( I couldn't tell the diff between them). As you can see TPTB did not want to price people completely out of the market, they just wanted us to pay as much as we would/could. Why? Cause the reason for the increased taxes was never intended to stop people from smoking. They want the price as high as possible but not high enough to create a black market or put it out of the reach of the common folk. Just like the ...... dealer does not want to price their product out of the market. I really don't know of anyone that stopped smoking cause of the cost. I really don't see vaping as a threat for BT as the learning curve is pretty steep & the vast majority will not invest the effort nor time needed to master vaping. Since most vapors have a decent amount of disposable cash I do not see the FDA slapping a total ban but rather raising the price to show a nice big profit but low enough so as too not drive vapors out of the market. So instead of 20/50 cents a ml, how about $1.50/$2 a ml? IOW's, the cost of vaping will be on par with cigs. That's how I see this thing shaking out IMO. So for those that are saving money vaping, those days are at a end. TPTB care not about BT, nor us but taxes so they can service the debt so the private banks do not close the money spigot (& they can).

Think of the money people spend on the quit smoking things like gums and patches out there.. They will spend at least as much if not more than we do on our ecig supplies and in most cases the failure rate on those is significantly higher than it is for the ecig users.

We started out trying to find our right setup and probably spent $500 or so which included juices that were just horrible LOL.. Now that we both have something we like to use we only spend $100/mo on juice and when we were smoking (with cartons here at $100) for two people spent $400/mo. So even if we go on a slight shopping spree, we will still break even at this point... (that's right, I could buy a brand new ProVari and still break even :p)

It does take some time to adjust and find the things that work right for each individual but once you do the rewards are great :D

I am in the black, but I was quite a heavy smoker, more than my sig shows. I do have some older mods I bought my first try at this too, and they are my standby's. I have a cheep VV mod, looking at building one from scratch though for little cash. I also fly model airplanes though and they were one of the biggest things that got me off analogs since I could afford one or the other not both :)

I did RYO for several months before switching. I spend about the same on DIY vaping. Taxes are definitely coming, and I worry about them. I am more willing to spend the money for vaping supplies than cigarettes, though.

Part of what attracted me to e cigs was the cost vs cigarettes. I guess it was for that reason I didn't go totally nuts buying gear and juice. I did spend around $400 getting started - could've shaved that down a bit by not making a few impulse buys in the beginning.

DIY juice makes vaping incredibly cheap. Now that I'm set-up, my average cost per month for expendables is:
2 vivi nova heads ($3.50 each) = 7
2 kanger t2 heads ($1 each) 2
90mls DIY juice (.07 per ml @ 90 ml) = 6.30

I don't always go through 2 heads every month. I anticipate my clearos will last me 2-3 months each before they need to be replaced and I'm expecting 6mos to 1 year on my EGO Twists.

Cigarettes cost $6.50 per pack near me so I am literally going all month on the price of 2 packs. If I replaced all my gear tomorrow, it would cost me around $90.
