Woohoo!!! We have one of those here! I know where to get rayon from! Now I just need to order me some kanthal and I can start learning to rebuild my own protank coils!! Yay! :) I already have some of the KJD that Travis sent me plus some regular cotton plus the peaches and cream yarn.

You are READY! :thumb:

For me rayon is all I use in my bottom fed devices. The main reason for me is with cotton a dry hit is like this: "OMG MY NOSE!!! MY LUNGS!!!! AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!! I'M GOING TO DIE!!!!!!!!!!" With rayon a dry hit is like this "Hmmmm....taste is gone, maybe I should squonk...."

Cotton is evil when it burns, rayon just goes tasteless before it burns plus it lasts FOREVER! Cotton wicks need to be replaced more often.

Megan you are soooo right and another thing I noticed when using my bottom feeders is after that dry hit I check the cotton and 9 times out of 10 the wick is burnt in half:ohmy: I use both rayon and organic cotton balls:) I honestly like them both.

I like cotton in my PT heads as the taste is just what I'm expecting and as I've come to be used to the slight cotton taste it just doesn't satisfy to use rayon in the PT. Now in my BF mods I've come to want the rayon, especially as I'll be reading on here and vaping away and can get a dry hit because I don't pay attention.

After all this talk about rayon, I'm going to stop by Sally's tomorrow. We have one right down the street from us. 500 ft....ha!

This might have already been mentioned...

But makes sure it says "100% rayon" ... there is a box that is "100% cotton" also...

just sayin'

;)

So if I ask them if they have Rayon and they say he has the day off what do I do then?????? *rimshot*

That was corny but I just had too, it's late. :D

Dani, I don't know where you are at in Ohio, but if you are anywhere near me, I can give you a Koh Gen Do Organic Japanese Cotton Pad to try, if you'd like. One pad will go a long way, so it could hold you over if you decide to order some.

I am in the Columbus area (Hilliard more specifically). I can also give you a pull of Cotton Bacon if you want to try that too.

How is that Cotton Bacon??? I saw it the other day and was wondering about it, and well bacon. :D

HaHa, ya, it's not bad, great marketing ploy to put bacon in the name, huh.

It was my first wicking purchase and way over priced (like $6 for a lil pouch). But, it says that it is good to go (no boiling, etc) so I picked it up while I was at a B&M.

I had an Atomic on it's way in the mail so I wanted to be prepared when it arrived (my first rebuildable). I played with it a bit but discovered that dripping just really wasn't for me. I just sold the Atomic the other day. I'll probably pick up a KayFun or something tanked at some point, so at least the wicks and kanthal won't go to waste.

Cool thanks for the info, guess if I am already rocking JC won't let 'em get me with the bacon name. :D Even though....bacon.

That is one good thing, if the equipment doesn't work for ya the materials will never be wasted for sure.

Love bacon, but somehow, I think I'll be just fine and dandy avoiding that product...

Did y'all say Bacon? I LOVE Bacon!

i'm a bit late to the game but 500' of rayon?

"i'm used to the cotton taste" - oooo kay!

How about something that lasts months, can be blowtorched to new, where a dry hit is not the end of a wick...
Something so easy to fit that you just screw it into your coil?

Readywick or RxW.

T

I'm almost ready to get down with it myself...just finished up figuring out devices and toppers. Rayon has been a great wick for me right now. I've been ignoring Readywick on purpose, I can only juggle so much!

This is how i vape - i work all week - i cannot be changing wicks every day or 2 days, because that's the deal with cotton. One dry burn and it's game over.

i don't care if it's the best thing for flavour ever and rayon is the same (only man-made and the fibres lie in the same direction for better wicking yadda yadda).

I run coils at about 0.3Ω. so i am an animal. Pay the money if you vape like me. I'm on month 2 of the same wick.

I understand the need then at .3
I am pretty tired of the dry burn DAILY though. Every juice is super gunky, so my wicking isn't the issue it's the dry burn. Being able to dry burn wick in place is sounding more attractive all the time...
