So I have a smoktech zmax mini and am really into the vv/vw idea (it was such a cool jump from my start out a month ago). So much so that I am contemplating getting a lavatube v2 since they have the obnoxious red ones back in stock and I've heard (mainly) awesome things about it. I've also toyed with the idea of picking up a silverbullet since it's completely different from the vv/vw game and it also has a really strong fan base.

I suppose my question is - if I already have a decently solid vv/vw in my zmax, and I am still relatively new to all of this, would I be missing out on something in the LT by going with a different experience in the SB?

I think I know the answer - going low resistance with the SB would be fun and different while still being able to handle the higher ohm'd cartos with my zmax is still an option - but I just wanted to see if there are any thoughts out there. And this place is so supportive and friendly towards asking silly questions like this that it couldn't hurt to get opinions...

thanks for any advice!

I think your answer is spot-on. The LT will be a lot like the zmax. When you're just attaching a clearo/tank/atty to it and not going sub-ohm, any VV battery will do. The preference for one VV device over another is in the look and build and how it operates. If you put the same device on it, the zmax and LT should give you the same vapor.

Given that, if you're going to throw money at something, get one that will offer you a more varied experience and get the SB.

If you want to go low res you don't have to spend that kind of money. You can get something like A K100 or K101 or Sigelei #19b or 19E. Much better prices on them. These are the upgraded versions that have the fix for misfires. This is a great price. Sigelei #19b telescoping mod with nzonic clone head and bottom button activation. Sigelei #19b is constructed of solid brushed stainless steel.
IF you like the K100 k101s they come in colors. Kamry K101 Starter Kit (Empire Clone) $37.50 | gotsmok.com

The advantage in these Mech's is that they are telescoping. I have the K101 and with the 18350 battery it almost fits in your palm. I may get a #19E as it is also telescoping. They both have a simple lockout for the button a blocking screw.

I also have the Zmax V3 flat top telescoping and if you go below 1.5 ohms it will likely error out. I use my K101 or low res. With a good atty say a 1.8 Protank or RBA or an RDA you can get some wicked vapor. I also have an AGA T and IGO -w and I only have to go to like 1.3 ohms with good wicks (important) and get some really good results.

Love my k100 because of the bottom fire button for using with my rdas. The odds of the airhole facing up in the position you would normally hold a side button mod or apv is very rare. Anyways if your not into making really low ohm coils you may want to pass on the mech. But I like having the option of being able to make whatever coil I want. I got a kick and use my k100 as a vw device half the time, currently have a vivi nova with a 1.8ohm head in it without the kick. I don't see a point in another apv myself and you could get it another time. If you have patience fasttech has a k100 for $24 I believe and free shipping but takes a couple weeks or a kts for under $20 shipped which I am waiting for ATM.

Good choice on the k-101. I really think it is a decent introduction to mechanical mods.Enjoy the learning curve of the AGA T2. May be frustrating at first but worth the perseverance. I'd like to suggest getting kanthal wire from temco industrial supply. I like to have 28awg, 30awg,32awg and .5x.1 ribbon on hand. I didn't get them at once though I wish I had.
