So I have a kangertech 45 w mod, think it’s called the subox mini. I recently bought a tfv8 big baby beast. I’ve been keeping it simple vape wise but I’m running into a problem.

I’m using 28 gauge wire, simple dual coils, at around .6 ohms. I’m burning the hell out of my mouth. I’d like to upgrade so I can use a bit bigger wire. Would like to keep the ohms in the .3-.6 range as I don’t like gigantic clouds that super sub-ohm provides.

Ok with all that information provided.

I need a new mod that can handle lower ohms. I don’t want anything insane. Portability, simplicity, but wattage control is a necessity. Also something with decent battery life (two 18650 max)

Recommendation on batteries would be welcome as well as what type of wire to use to keep it around .3-.6 without burning my damn face every 5 minutes. Sick of rebuilding this tank.

Thanks for the replies in advance vape technology surpassed me unfortunately.

This guy will tell you all you need to know about batteries.

There are lots of inexpensive single battey mods, almost any would work for your stated use.

Wire you can use SS or Kanthal for the range. 26 Gauge SS or 24 gauge Kanthal probably best. 2.5 MM diameter coil works best in the Kanger RBA

Yes reread it the Sub Box Mini is what I misread the mod.

The RBA for the Smok tank is dual coil and tiny. Any dual coil in it is going to be hot no doubt. To get .3 to .6 ohm. You will need thinner wire not bigger. You are going to have to wrap two .6 or 1.2 ohm coils to get what you want in it.

My rec would be Squid Industries Double Barrel, $80 if you shop around, Samsung 30qs, and a good external charger. Tesla Wye has good reviews for about $40. Both are dual 18650.
If you want a single cell mod, the new smoant Battlestar mini looks good and has decent reviews. Or the Geekvape Aegis is you want something indestructible. It takes a 26650, which will get you decent battery life.

Could try a Vapresso mod. I got my first one and I am really pleased with it. Excellent quality and nice design.

As far as a tank, I'm not sure I can be much help to you. I would consider trying perhaps a single coil RTA at some point in your future. Dual builds can be challenging and hard to manage, you may find you have more success down the road. Don't give up on it completely, is what I'm saying. If I had stopped at my first RTA purchased, I don't think I would have had success with them overall, and when you get it right it can be a fantastic vape.

Something that fit well in the hand. Budget wise less than 150.
I'm currently using a JAC Vapour series B DNA75W. Easily fits into your "wants" list. Under $100.

It's a single battery mod. I get a full days use with a Samsung 30Q 3000mAh 15amp battery. I only use it in wattage mode, but it has Temp Control mode available, too. I vape between 30 and 40 watts. Reviews are all stellar, do a search on You Tube. Read about it here:

My backup mod is the two-battery Segelei Fuschai 213 Plus. I use the same Samsung 30Q bats in it, yet I only get a days use with the two batteries. Variable wattage; has TC too.

Do you have a theory about the difference in battery use? I find that interesting.

Just to add to what Anna said, typically a dedicated RTA works better than a drop in coil tank w/RBA
Really depends on the tank and RBA.
I use STM and Crown V1 RBAs, for me very easy to build, and have better flavor than their drop in coils.
    But they are 2014 tech....

Using the same batteries, tanks, and coils on both mods.

I attribute the better battery efficiency to the DNA processor of the JAC. What else could it be?
