Couple questions regarding the LavaTube

Hey guys, dealing with a shortage of time and being able to read through all the posts dealing with lavatubes, i thought i might just ask here.

I just ordered one for my gf for a christmas present and I was wondering whats setups yall are using ( and i know this is totally subjective) but what is working best for everyone. Any info will be helpful!

I would like to have get a nice tank/carto setup going on and i was just hoping for some recommendations.

I just received my lavatube yesterday...I Like it so far...I was using 1.5 ohm dual coil cartomizers on my silver bullet prior to receiving the LT.
What I noticed and what is documented is that like most variable voltage mods dont like low resistance or for that matter dual coils. You can surely set the LT from 3 volts to maybe 4 but thats it...Anything of higher voltage and the lavatube just knocks down the voltage, so ,therefore, you will not experience the benefit of higher voltage vaping. If this does not concern you, then get the LT. Its really cool looking and built pretty well for the money.
Anyway, I just ordered 3 ohm single coil cartos from volcano ecigs and the matching tank. This combo will not only give you much more latitude with variable voltages but also less fill-ups with e-liquid.......Hope this helps...Merry Christmas

yea i dont ever use dual coils anyway so i was planning on just sticking with a 2.5-3 ohm single coil. ill check out the tanks at volcano cigs. i just wanna make sure whatever i get will work properly (wick fast enough, not leak...etc) with higher voltage vaping.

bigdaddyvapor.com carries some slick looking tanks in either 3ml or 5ml size so you can fit and try pretty much any kind of carto out there. As far as tank setup that seems like the best bet, and is well reviewed. Buy a couple individual cartos and let the missy choose what she prefers (if I read that right). Good luck with that.

I really like plain old boge sr cartos (~2.8Ω - 3.0Ω single coil) on my vv's, including the lava tube. If you want something that is inexpensive but works great (for me at least) look at this HV Chibi Tank Mod (boge 3.0) chibi tank for $8.

If you want something really special for your gf to include in her xmas gift, you might look at Glass tanks - notcigs.com or The Phiniac Tank - Phiniac Glass for hand blown glass tanks.

I have been using the J tank (3 of them) for 2 weeks now with Boge 3.0 stainless cartos and not one leak.... Electronicstixs is the main place for the J tank and they sell them in 6 or 7 colors in both a 3ml and 5ml size...

thanks yall, max i thought about getting one of those tanks from notcigs..they are so nice, I just wonder how well they work. I would hate to spend the money on one and it end up not performing. I have an Acorn tank already and a Chibi tank on the way, I really like the acorn tank with my megalodon. Scotay i have a Jtank i got when i got my megalodon and I hate it. I dont know why but i just cant seem to get it to work properly, im sure its due to user error but ive tried it with several cartos with no resolve. I was thinking of maybe trying out the torpedo tank, i like the ce2 tanks. Whats a good site to get some of those boge SR cartos?

well i got the lavatube in today and already broke down and gave it to my lady for an ealry christmas present.....SHE LOOOOVES IT!!!!!!! to say the least! haha. She's "allowed" me to hit it a couple of times and WOW...things performs like a dream! im jealous...i might have to sneak order myself one haha! We've....well SHE has been using the atty it came with and a SR boge carto with STL gooey butter cake from vaporlicious....and.....mmmmmm AMAZING!!!!!!!!

I just ordered the kit with two 7ml tanks and extra 3ohm cartos from the site.

I'm hopeing i'll be happy with what they have; I'll keep everyone informed for sure, as this is my first true "mod"


From what I can tell, most of the tanks look about the same. Not talking from expirence, just from what i've seen on different reviews. only difference should be what carto you insert, or maybe if you're trying to punch your own cartos, maybe messing it up. ??? not sure yet, but i'll figure it out. Should have mine tomorrow! oh happy day!

Currently, I have a 2.5ml VPX Cartomator from Nhaler with standard res Boge stainless cartos. Been using this set-up on my LavaTube since I got it and I love it! They've lowered the price of the tanks considerably since I made my purchase back in late October.

madvapes sells a great tank setup for $12..its a 5ml tank..fits and looks great on both lavatube and provari..they sell the prepunched cartos that will be better for it 2ohm, 2.5 ohm and i think 3ohm for $2.50 each...After trying it on my provari I bought a few more because my brother has the lavatube there are no leaks at all and are very easy to fill....it is a great tank

I have really been enjoying my Lavatube's as well. I bought the black one, and then when I saw the Silver one, I just had to get it. I have been using the black one for dripping, and now I am using the silver one for my tanks. I went ahead and purchased a couple of the 7ml tube tanks from Volcano. I really have been enjoying these tanks. No leaks what so ever, and very easy to fill and change out cartos, even with juice in the tank. I enjoy the 3.0ohm single coil on the LT the best so far from Volcano since I can go all the way to 6 volts if I want to. I just ordered some 2.5ohm double coil cartos from Madvapes, so I will soon get to try those out. I hear that they are both Smoktechs, and are very good quality. I'm still new to the tank system, so still playing with it. These tanks look wonderful on the LT. Form and function! 2 Thumbs up!

I have a voltmeter from madvapes where you can stick on the attys and cartos and test the loaded voltage...
