I ordered p/n 39003 product 6 RCR123A 3.0V 750mAh LiFePO4 Rechargeable Batteries with a Smart Charger from all-battery.com on July 17, 2009. As of today, I still have not seen hide nor hair of them although I paid by Paypal on the 17th. I was told it was out of stock and expected on 8/9/2009. Told them I'd stick with it, and still no shipping confirmation.

Before ordering from them, I'd suggest emailing and asking about stock status.

There are way too many web-merchants now selling crap that they don't even have.

Update: Today Lydia from there told me that the current expected-in date is 8/25/09. They also don't try to STOCK these batteries.

That's an important piece of information about a battery supplier that, I believe, a lot of Prodigers (i.e., those of us who are proud owners of the Prodigy) have been using.

trashling just mentioned in her Prodigy Tamer - Spacer Battery thread that she had ordered (and received) batteries a few weeks ago from Battery Junction. She didn't mention any problems associated with her order.

Anyone else have experience (good, bad or indifferent) with either of these (or any other) battery suppliers? I may need to order some more batts soon.

As for CR123a vs. RCR123a, I'm pretty sure the 'R' stands for Rechargeable.;)

I ordered the same item on 8/14/09 got a fedex tracking # and received an e-mail yesterday that the expected in date is 8/23/09. This doesn't sound good to me.

Thanks for that update. You're doing better than I did. I tried to place an order on Aug. 7 for the 6 batteries + charger, they sent me a tracking notice, THEN wrote on Aug. 10 to say they were out of stock until the 16th. Since then I cannot get them to reply to emails (including "Lydia"), cannot get an actual operator at their "chat window," and I just called them (no 800#) and got voicemail runaround ending with "Leave us your number and we'll call you." What a cruddy little operation!

If I can figure out HOW to cancel this order I intend to; I was able to get new batts from Puresmoker anyway. The order was placed so long ago, I'll have to go into an older bank statement to figure out if they billed me for this stuff. Their website says, "Our customer service is second to none." They must mean they rate a 2 on a scale of 0-10, and IMHO that's too generous. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Update: Someone answered their "chat window" after I had it up about an hour. I got the same "out of stock 'til the 25th" answer. They agreed to cancel the order. I went looking at the previous place I'd tried to buy this same set, which was also unable to fulfill the order; it's Battery Superstore, which is THE SAME as All-Battery.com, and "Battery Superstore" is how they do business on Amazon.

I e-mailed them, put in a dispute with paypal and chatted with them online and canceled this order today and asked them to credit my paypal account Done my order was cancelled and my paypal was credited. Ordered from battery junction but e-mailed them first to verify they had in stock and ordered from them. They are a few dollars more for total of 6 batteries but the have a 5 percent off coupon so it averaged out. My order was shipped today ups and will be delivered on Monday.

I found a merchant selling 25pc packs of Tenergy CR123a batteries (it is stated they are NOT rechargeable)and they are 1300mAh....the site states that they have a 10 year shelf life- my question is, can you still buy these to use in the Prodigy for a one-time use (in case of a ban when short on funds)?

The pack sells for $23.99, so I don't know if these will work, but might be good for ban emergencies.
