Sorry to hear this happened but it doesn't surprise me that there could be a credit card company out there refusing to process ecig purchases now. There are only a few credit card processors that our vendors can use as most refuse to handle ecig sales. No ecig sales through US Paypal.

Anyone that thinks the FDA is the only entity that has potential to cause us problems in obtaining our ecig supplies has their face in the sand :(

Anyone experience this since Wednesday?

I was placing an order with Mt Baker (from whom I've previously ordered) and the transaction came back denied as an invalid transaction. I called my bank and they said that as of 1/1/14, card processors are refusing to process orders for e-cigarette related products.

If this is the case and not just my bank jerking me around, this is huge.

 Well that is not good! I have made several purchases recently, but all were made between 12/25 -12/28, at least those that were undeniably e cig related. I purchased batteries yesterday online, but those can be used for several different applications.

Can I ask, did you use Paypal to check out, or was this direct credit card processing? I ask because Visa gift cards are only valid for purchases made within the US however, I have made several purchases with Chinese vendors using it, but the transactions were through Paypal so the processing still goes through. So I was thinking that perhaps if paid using Paypal, maybe you would not have any issue??

This cannot be true, as I use Paypal for 60% of my ecig purchases, and the detailed confirmations that I receive from Paypal all itemize what was purchased. And then there is also the plethora of Ebay listings for ecigs, all of which are processed by Paypal.

not to be paranoid, (wait, what was that?) but I honestly believe the entire medical community does not want to put a stop to tobacco harm as they do make billions and billions of dollars off of tobacco related illnesses (it's part of their hypocritic oath (this is taken in private and supercedes anything they might have felt about their hypocratic oath under penalty from their student loan holders and their country club membership and fees committees)) to repress any truly beneficial alternatives to the problem.

The truly concerned health care professionals that back personal vaporizers will soon find themselves out on the street with no government funding and no access to hospital facilities.

example of medical greed - My 96 year old aunt was browbeaten by her Dr to have unwanted cataract surgery even though she quit reading unless absolutely necessary when she was in her 30s and had 20/20 vision, she has never driven in her life, she never liked television and preferred the radio. Her Dr convinced her that if she did not do this surgery he and his facility would no longer be able to be her health care provider and she would need to move to a different senior care facility. When they asked other facilities about this they were told this was the current policy of all senior care facilities in the area.

My personal opinions of doctors is catching up with my opinion of lawyers and politicians.

Technically PP does not allow Ecig purchases within N. America...you can thank ASH for this. Of course a few will slip through the cracks and unless a complaint is made Ebay does not actively chase down Vendors. Note also there are some dual listed U.S. Vendors- when an order is made in the U.S. the order is electronically transacted through the U.K. affiliate BUT the order is shipped from the U.S. based company/ warehouse.

I'm pretty sure this is just a bank merchant or gateway processor that changed their Terms of Use as of January 1st. Many/most already do not allow those transactions as they consider them "high risk". Most online vape stores must use high-risk processors because regular credit card banks will not touch it.
I agree. The vendor probably needs to find a new credit card processor.

I think I may have to try the prepaid option.

I just spoke with Robert at Mt Baker and he said he hasn't heard anything but I did find the FB post that Spazmelda spoke of.

Dakota Jim, I live in Kentucky. I think even the Lung Association is Big Tobacco in this state… :)
This is funny s**t! I am sorry but after living in "Tobacco Row" for a few years I completely understand!! :2c:

Things change.
In 2007 all was good.
In 2009 paypal and ebay rejected my ecig purchases; had to switch to credit card vendor.
Now paypal works good and some ecig stuff is slipping by on ebay.

It's against PP and Ebay rules but they seem to be letting it go for the past few months....for now at least.

Pay pal and ebay are now the same company. And according to caridwen here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/509582-ebay-2.html Peter Thiel, one of the founders of Paypal is heavily invested in one of the e-cig companies.

Hmmmm.

I have been told that also. So I found another doctor. Sorry they had to pick on the elderly, whom seem to be the most dependant on them. These days if family and friends don't advocate for the patient, no one will. Totally wrong.
