Credit Card Company Refused To Process Transaction

I ordered a sigelei v5 (hurray!) from desertvapes on the evening of Jan 1 with a cap 1 MasterCard. I'm in Canada so I'm not sure how useful this data is.

NJoy is headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ. Not sure about Blu (though Blu IS owned by one of the big 3 tobacco companies)

not to be paranoid, (wait, what was that?) but I honestly believe the entire medical community does not want to put a stop to tobacco harm as they do make billions and billions of dollars off of tobacco related illnesses (it's part of their hypocritic oath (this is taken in private and supercedes anything they might have felt about their hypocratic oath under penalty from their student loan holders and their country club membership and fees committees)) to repress any truly beneficial alternatives to the problem.

The truly concerned health care professionals that back personal vaporizers will soon find themselves out on the street with no government funding and no access to hospital facilities.

example of medical greed - My 96 year old aunt was browbeaten by her Dr to have unwanted cataract surgery even though she quit reading unless absolutely necessary when she was in her 30s and had 20/20 vision, she has never driven in her life, she never liked television and preferred the radio. Her Dr convinced her that if she did not do this surgery he and his facility would no longer be able to be her health care provider and she would need to move to a different senior care facility. When they asked other facilities about this they were told this was the current policy of all senior care facilities in the area.

My personal opinions of doctors is catching up with my opinion of lawyers and politicians.

I can't speak for the entire medical profession, but I have several doctors as relatives, and dealt with many doctors and staff over the years caring for my elderly parents, before they died. I never once got a whiff of that attitude, especially with anyone even remotely involved with caring for cancer patients.

Insurance and Big Pharma? Yes. They like the profits from smoking related illness. Oncologists? Doubtful.

I think it comes from the owners of smaller practices. Dentistry and Ophthalmology are very well known, around here at least, for their unnecessary procedures. It's like auto shops, where if you find a good honest one, you stick with them, because they're unique.

just to add my experience here, i ordered from myvaporstore on the night of jan 1 with a chase debit card and it went through. the debit card has a visa logo on it. this is definitely some scary stuff though.

They're owned by Catterton Partners, a consumer product related investment firm, located in Greenwich, Connecticut. Just FYI.

Blu are in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Seems that way, but I can't say for sure. I've not tried to make a purchase since this news came out so I can't say for sure whether BofA in AZ is affected, since that's where my debit card is from.

I'm in Nevada and just placed a large juice order with a vendor in Texas using BoA Visa - no problem, unless it could somehow be retroactively denied. This really stunned me; no warning, no recourse, this is crazy!

As stated above.......... Apparently, banks are attributing the denials to the PACT Act, or Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking Act, which doesn't mention anything about e-cigs or e-liquid.

I got an e-mail reply from my bank (in Oklahoma) and they mentioned the PACT ACT document and called the block put on my Visa as a ....... " High Risk Internet Cigarette Merchants Block ".

They said I should google the PACT ACT for more information......by the way this is a federal act...

I have a question. The OP was using a Mt. Baker app, right? Don't know if that's part of it, or not. I just ordered from my juice vendor, who happens to be local and didn't see any issue, but if one turns up, I'll post. I'm in the same city as the OP, so we'll see.

Just some of the business that have difficulties finding credit card processors. Most of these business have higher than usual occurrences of CC charge backs. It makes sense that some CC processors would change Terms of Use at the first of the year. Typically, small vendors not paying attention to their CC processor can get caught by an unpleasant surprise. This has nothing to do with the feds.
