I use paypal almost exclusively for online purchases. Through mounds of vape mail from the month of december, I had only one single transaction that seems to have been effected. I used paypal to purchase a ring from Loki Labs. The payment didn't go through at first, and paypal charged me something similar to an overdraft charge. The second time the charge went through. I wrote to paypal support to get to the bottom of this.

That said, I have made a LOT of other vape related purchases with no problems. Seems odd, almost random.

I do not know if this is related or not. I use a Vanilla One Reloadable prepaid visa. So far I can make purchases with it from anywhere but Sure Vapes :p Anyone know where Sure Vapes is headquartered?

If this IS related its been creeping in for months as the last time I tried Sure vapes was at least 6 weeks ago

What is an echeck? Are there good and bad companies?

It is just using a regular check on the net. When I was buying cigs with them, I had to fax the company a copy of my drivers license to keep on file. When I wanted to make a purchase, I gave them a check number and amount. They put it through electronically. Very simple really.

Many banks let you write a digital check against your bank account, much like a paper check.

If your bank allows you to pay your bills online, there's an excellent chance they also have e-checks.

Not when I was using them. It is simply a number from a paper check, your routing and account number plus the check number. Same as going in person and writing a check.

How E-checks Work

An e-check works in much the same manner as a paper check, though without the need for a check to actually be written and processed by the recipient's bank. When you authorize an e-check payment it is processed as a debit transaction using the routing and account number of your checking account. The amount that is debited by this transaction is then transferred to the merchant's account in much the same manner as if you had written a paper check.

I can issue an e-check directly from my bank account bill pay site without using the number from a paper check. I guess each bank has a slightly different method.... :)

Seems like a good time to have a B&M...and cash.

If I had a B&M that carried any of the stuff I use (as opposed to the tiny counter of junk a local head shop has) anywhere within a reasonable drive that would be my option. I don't. Nearest B & M is a 70 mile one way trip.

Just to clear up all the paypal talk. I sell on ebay and have a "preferred status" with both EB and PP. If you do not want any issues buying ecigs with PP then get yourself a PP debit card. This is how I spend my money after making a sale on EB. Its used exactly the same as a bank card and you can tie your bank in to PP so if you go over your PP balance while making a purchase it takes from your bank. EVERY purchase you make is covered by PP, and this includes Ecigs, no matter where you buy them. Its a bank card. I have also called PP and asked. Its confirmed. That's all.

I have bill pay as well but, it is a little different than what I used to pay for cigs. It is up to the vendor site that you purchase from. They would have to accept checks in order to accept a bill pay. An echeck goes through right away just like a debit or credit card and that may not be the case using bill pay.

I will have to check that out. I have been busted for ecigs with PP before and am afraid of using them for these purchases. I would love to use a debit rather than credit to pay in any case though. Thanks for the tip :)
