My 901 came today, and I'm...I'm...SMOKE FREE! I haven't had an analog since 1:15 (4 1/2 hours ago), and I am NOT JONESING! I can't get over it! My kit came with 2 highs, a medium, a low and a zero, and I started with a medium, just to "see". It was a bit harsh, so I switched to a "low", and I've been happily puffing away since then! I feel like I'm using it heavily, but gave myself a pass because it's the first day of vaping. Luckily, I bought a passthrough, as I'm at my computer all day anyway, but I have my 2 batteries charged up, ready for the evening. I'm thrilled. Just freaking THRILLED!

I also bought a small bottle of 11mg tobacco flavor, and am sucking on my first "pyramid teabag mod" right now. I feel like dancing!!!! :D

Flavors...I need to get some flavors! Some mango, maybe, definitely some chocolate. Mocha! *wanders off grinning*

Hooray for you Silque1964!!!! Isnt it the most amazing thing ever? I know exactly how you feel because that is how it happened to me too, heck I didnt even want to quit and didnt plan on it, but right from the first "vape" that was it, I stopped dead cold and in a few days it will have been a month!!!

I am so very happy for you!!! It's a fantastic feeling to fall in love with vaping and to know that it is for the analog cigs .. over and done with. I can feel your happiness, excitement and shock .. right thru my monitor LOL.

As for the flavors .. hahaha .. that is where we get to have so much more fun than we ever did when we had our ONE flavor of analogs huh? I had an order arrive today for lots of juice, including pina colada and the most incredible orange .. love them so much.

I'm so happy for you and for everyone here who has made the best switch for our lives .. thank goodness that ecigs were invented.

Wow, I don't know how to convey how thrilled I am for everyone. Greetings, fellow cruisers, from ridge4 on CC.

I found this wonderful forum and the world of vaping in October 2009. I have been analog free ever since! It's so great that the thread go started on CC and took off like it did.

We are on the Radiance to Alaska next month, and it will be my first cruise since I quit analogs. I won't have any qualms about vaping on the plane, I have learned to do very discreetly. In my case, my Bartleby helps (search the forum for info), as it fits nicely into the palm of my hand and you can't really see it. I am really looking forward to being able to vape in my cabin and not worry about running out somewhere to smoke! We have a balcony cabin, though, so I am sure I will be out there vaping away too, and not bothering the neighbors!

Keep it up everyone! It takes some practice, and some fiddling sometimes, but I don't even think about analogs anymore. Just stay with it a bit, and find the models, flavors, and nic levels that fit you. If you don't like your flavors, try others. If you don't like your model, try another.

I actually don't use cartridges anymore. I use a model M401 (on my Bartleby too) which has an exposed atomizer, and I do what is called "dripping", whereby I just drip 2-3 drops at a time on my atomizer and vape away until it's time to drip again.

Good luck everyone, and welcome to the world of vaping. :D

I will be taking the train this Fall...2 and half days to the east coast. What concerns me is other passengers freaking out when they see a 'cig' in my mouth and then running to the conductor without stopping to see what is going on. I do not know Amtrak's policies but I might inform the conductor when I get on the train. Otherwise I have no problem sneaking downstairs to the restroom area or just waiting with the smokers until we get to the next whistle stop where they let you smoke outside the train while they board passengers.

Otherwise I am thrilled with the vaping experience. I have been through the gum and the Snus and always went back to the analogs. For now I have no desire to go back to analogs, though I didn't have a hard-core habit to begin with. I like the smooth draw and the flavor from my 7-11 start-up kit. Am sure I will move on to the better products some day but for now this starter kit suits me just fine.

I guess if your lucky you could smoke on a plane around others but what about the bathroom to keep the other complaints down. Anyone know if vaping sets of the alarm. Cant get the alarm in my house to set off when I vape and blow on it but i know the aiplane ones are way more sensitive. Any pilots/flight attendants out there wanna test it?

Hi Evenflow .. a great way of saying it, YES I agree it IS better than smoking! Never thought I'd say or feel that.

TorqueZombie .. there are some people on ECF who say the alarm in the bathroom has gone off before, so what they do is if they vape in the bathroom they blow the vapor DOWN towards the floor. Also some have said they blow it into the sink because there is a air suction in the hole of the sink (you'd probably need to push the plunger down).

Hi Lady400 (ridge4 on CC) .. Alaska is beautiful and cruising it is even better! I have an eGo and my KR808, at first I used the eGo 99% of the time but for the past 2 weeks have been using the KR more & more and now use it almost exclusively. I pre-fill lots of cartos every 2-3 days and each one lasts me a few hrs .. I use to fill them with the condom method but find using a syringe to be much faster and neater. Finding the juices I like was a lot harder than finding which equipment I like, but now I use only VaporsEtc liquids and am a happy-happy vaper!

Eternityroad .. there's a travel section on ECF and you might find train info there, or you could sit by the window and do some stealth-vaping and that way you wouldnt run the risk of having to ask the conductor and having him say no.

Jackie, This is great that you started a thread for cruisers. I lurk alot on cruise critic and was thrilled to see your thead for e-cigs. I've been using ecigs since March of 2009 and can't imagine not having these life savers. I'll be using my Tornado from Totally Wicked. I love the big mods and use my Prodigy 3 from Puresmoker at home. I'll be taking my Tornado on our Sept 3rd cruise on the Oasis and am so glad that I won't be limited to where I want to enjoy a 'vape'. I'll be glad to watch this thread and help out anyone else who has questions to get started on e-cigs. It's a whole new world out there when you don't have to worry about the smell, the smoke, the dirty looks and the feeling of being a second class human when you begin to enjoy your ecig vapes.
The best of luck to all!
Rita

Hi Rita, thanks for posting on this thread and offering to help with questions too :) I see you have the Tornado, very similar to an eGo right? I have both the eGo and a KR808, must say that lately I have been using my KR808 almost exclusively, guess I like that it's smaller but still gives me plenty of flavor and vapor. Great hearing from you, hope you'll post again on this thread .. would love to know what juices you like too.

20 1/2 hours smoke free! This morning was a little weird. My lungs felt funny. Phlegm is way down. How much vapeing is "too much"?

Hooray for you, almost 24 hrs for you! Your lungs might feel weird cuz they are clearing out.

How much is too much? well I vape way too much am I'm still alive, breathing without wheezing, have lots of energy, I dunno how much is too much but I figure I smoked analogs too much too, except now I am minus those 4,000 chemicals :) As soon as you get a few more threads you'll have to put up a little box with the days since you stopped smoking, in your signature .. it's an inspiration to see your days since stopping increase :)

How are you doing with the juices you got .. do you like them?

Right on! My roommate who is still into analogs is so envious because he has to go out on the porch in 100+ degree heat to smoke (we don't allow smoking in the house) while I sit in air conditioned comfort and vape.

I only have tobacco flavor. If there were an e cig store anywhere in this town, I'd RACE there and pick up some juices. Alas, there are none that I know of. I checked the mall over the weekend, and the kiosk that was there is long gone. I'm going to send away for a few from vaporsetc today.

*edit* I'm still hacking a bit (expected) but the phlegm is nearly gone (unexpected)!

That's so great, Silque!! Should get our (DH & me) KR8's quite soon, perhaps this afternoon. Can't wait to join you & all the others in vaping, not smoking!

I will report back as soon as I get mine & start up.

Keep up the great vaping!!

Carol

I hope it goes smoothly for you, and you enjoy vaping as much as I do! I've just passed my "first day" milestone, and I'm feeling great! I can't wait until my lungs eject all the crap in them, and I stop coughing! I'm so looking forward to 2 weeks from now. I'll really be feeling the effects by then!

have news for you guys. i have been using ecigs exclusively for over a year now. though my wheezing has stopped when i lie down at night, and i am spitting up less from my lungs, i still have trouble catching my breath. depending how long you smoked tobacco, there is probably going to be some permanent damage that cannot be undone. at least we won't add any more insults to our injuries.
