Travel and Vaping Cruise ship passengers & ecigs!

Waiting for my first order from Freedomsmokes. I've been using vaporetc, like them alot, v4l also. So far I love the vanilla flavors, vanilla tobacco I like in the am with my coffee. Decided to try FS to see what some of their flavors are like. Got some chocolate flavors & other flavors, which I have now forgotten what so guess I'll just be surprised when they come. I ordered those with various amounts of vg & pg; decided that I need more vapor than TH so it'll be interesting to see if more vg really helps. V4L's Kant is great also; its really close to Kent, which is the brand I smoked for years; great when having a glass of wine!

Wish I could say that I've completely given up analogs but I have cut it to one or two daily, tho. Could be because DH is still smoking altho he promises he's going to get on vaping soon.

Got my pkg from V4L yesterday, and I just ordered it Monday night! Talk about fast service. My batteries came fully charged, and along with the order I placed, they sent 5 extra flavored cartos. Still not sure what I think though. The throat hit seems almost painful to me, and makes me cough. I've only tried it a few times though, but it may take me a while to get used to this...

Sometimes the liquid that comes in the pre-filled cartos isnt the best liquid, not sure what kind you got. As for the throat hit, PG doesnt give off more throat hit than VG does. Personally I like throat hit, so I try to order 70-80% PG and the rest VG. But some people prefer much more VG in their juice. VG creates less throat hit but more vapor.

I love the Premium Cool Carts from V4L, they are the best cartomizers I've used so far. I buy them empty and fill them with liquid that I buy from other suppliers though. I havent tried V4L's liquids but I do know that some suppliers have liquids that are better than others.

What flavors did you get in your pre-filled cartos? And do you know what the % of PG and VG is in those?

Hi Kellogg, I live in the Houston area too We leave on Saturday for 2 back-to-back cruises out of Copenhagen, I do plan to vape on the ship and will report back. Several who post here have recently sailed and did vape on the ship .. one of those is Orville who just returned from the Freedom of the Seas the other day and he said he vaped everywhere except the main dining room .. including the solarium and in non-smoking bars.

I think the more other passengers see and learn about ecigs the better it will be for "us". Orville did explain how it works to several passengers and crew members. Everyone I've explained it to is fascinated about it, especially non-smokers who love the fact that there's no smoke and no odor. We'll be sailing with 2 of our best friends on these cruises, we met on a RCI cruise years ago and sail together at least 5-6 times a year. Neither of them have ever smoked and they cant wait to see how my PV works and learn all about it because they have friends and relatives at home who are smokers and they want to teach them about it, after they learn about mine. I think every non-smoker probably knows someone who smokes and would love to have them try using an ecig instead.

I got a sample of Wyatt Earp and can say, definitively, that I didn't care for it. It reminded me heavily of cigar tobacco and brought back a rather unpleasant memory of a teenaged Satharra taking a dare to smoke 5 cigars in a row. Yeah, the outcome of that dare was really unpleasant.

I actually got queasy feeling when I vaped Wyatt Earp but I definitely didn't pick up any jalapeno.

I now also know to stay away from the other tobaccos you listed. Ginger and I don't get along at all.

Don't worry too much about smoking the cigs on the side, Carol. I did that too for the first week and once I moved into the 24mg (up from 18), I lost the cravings. Plus, after a while I realized how much better the vapor tastes than smoke. You'll get to the 0 cigs at some point.

I'm still trying to get my DH to take up vaping. He's pretty resistant but seems to have pretty nasty coughing fits when he tries my PV. I've got some stuff on order to see if we can alleviate that long enough for him to get used to the vapor.

I had the same issue, Lunyma, and my husband has it as well. Vapor just felt completely different to me.

What I did to alleviate the coughing (Disclaimer: I am stubborn and by golly, this was going to work!):
Tiny, tiny puffs - just get a little vapor in your mouth, wait a second, and then try to inhale. I couldn't do that 4 second draw at first. It nearly killed me
Switch to 100% or super high VG - I tried this coupled with the small puffs, particularly in the early morning or late at night. It seemed to work pretty well.
Keep at it - Since there are chemicals that dull your throat and lungs to the smoke in cigs and there aren't in vapor, I just kept at it until my body adjusted.

Husband's issues have not been alleviated by the switch to VG. I also was dumb and had him do the full draw rather than the tiny puffs. He's also not nearly as stubborn as I am. So, for him, I'm doing the following:
No nic juice - I've got a ton of no nic juices coming in. This supposedly helps with TH. If he doesn't like them, I can just use them as vapes when I really don't want the nic but want the smoking motion.
A 901 atty and some carts - a lot of folks swear these help with the TH on KR808s. I'm willing to try it if I can get my DH off the cigs.

At this point, I love the TH. I've gotten so used to it now that I actually enjoy it. These are just a few pointers and some may or may not work for you.

Sadly, I haven't been on a cruise since I switched so I'll be interested in your experiences. I'm not sure I'll get to be on one anytime soon either.

Even the time I thought I'd have in February appears to be rapidly disappearing. Bleh.

Lunyma, I got my kits from V4L also & was so excited until I tasted the prefilled carts. The great people on this cruise thread & others on the forum gave me wonderful advice about filling my own (& are still giving me great advice!) What a change! I really like the e-liquids altho I'm waiting for my new package of liquids that I ordered with alot more vg than pg...I've discovered that I need the vapor rather than the throat hit. Everyone's different in what they need (thoat hit vs vapor, etc.). Experimenting with liquids & discovering what I need & flavors I like has been fun!

Satharra, I'm not really worried about the extra analogs because I know I will get to the point where I'll be totally vaping with no analogs. I just get a little disappointed when I sneak as I really thought I'd be completely off of them by now. Hopefully the vg loaded liquids I'm waiting for will be the answer; then I probably will go up in nic level.

You may get an occasional funny look, but since there is no smoke smell - the look quickly goes from scowl to confused, but we never had anyone either confront us, or ask a crew member to confront us. And we vaped everywhere on the ship except in the restaurants.

Oooh, hope you post back here when you get back! I loved our last NCL cruise. I just really appreciated the casual feel and the multiple dining options even if I had to pay extra for them.

Mmm, juices for a cruise. I'd definitely be taking a bunch of tropical fruit flavors myself. Oh, and pina colada...definitely pina colada.

Thanks for the offer, but I live in San Diego, so jalapenos are already a staple in my diet.

You should have seen some of the old threads about RY4 juice.

I agree with most people that it is tobacco with hints of caramel and vanilla.
But people were coming up with things like cotton candy and God knows what else.
