CC is a good website to get the "word out". Very active travel forum. I'm surprised at all of the positive remarks on there. I used to spend a lot of time on CC back in my cruising days. Ironically I gave up cruising because I got sick of listening to all of the whiners on board. Not just about smoking but about everything from perfumes being worn to how people were dressed. On the flip side we have met some of the nicest people onboard as well. Two couples we still keep in contact with.

Hi everybody, just got back from a great cruise on the Jewel of the Seas. Vaped everywhere including at the captain's table in the main dining room .. woohoo. Of course while at that table I did "stealth" vape, no one could see it, no one knew it, and I was happy-happy.

I had ordered a box mod juice feeder a week before the cruise, it arrived the day before we left. It's a Phidias that runs on an 18650 battery and has a 3ml bottle of juice. Love it, the battery lasts nearly 2 days! Gorgeous handmade wood, has a 510 connection and I can use either atomizers or cartomizers on it.

Just went and voted in the Cruise Critic poll about ecigs. Obviously the naysayers dont understand what an ecig is, they see or hear the word "cig" and instantly vote NO .. ignorance is bliss I guess!

Hello Stashbldr: I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise. It's been about a month since I saw the thread on the RCI boards on CC. That got me into trying E-ciggs. A few days later their was a thread on the CCL boards. It's been about two weeks that i'm using my 510. My wife can't belive that I have almost stopped smoking. From a pack a day to one or none analog a day. This is a great thing for me. I can't wait till our next cruise where I can vape and not want a analog cigg.

I just went on cruise to the Galapagos Islands in Sept. Small ship, just 16 passengers. 11 crew, and 1 naturalist. We vaped everywhere and never had one complaint. I do feel the reason is that everyone asked about it and was interested in how it worked, either for themselves or their family and friends who smoked. At one point, the naturalist asked us to give a spiel on it after his briefing since so many people wanted to know more. Everyone stayed to listen. Communication is the key to acceptance.

By the end of the trip, we converted 4 smokers (all of the smokers on board not including my husband on I). All the non-smokers wanted business cards for family and friends...and several emailed us later with success stories for converting them...and thanked us profusely for giving them a heads up about ecigs.

The best story tho, is about the naturalist...he is now a rep in South America and is selling them. Says the interest has been incredible...and business is booming. He has not had a real cigarette since the cruise (we gave him enough from our stash to hold him til he ordered.)

I know this situation was unique because of the small number of people on the ship. But hey, its a start...and its always nice to hear good news, right?

Hi E150, warms my heart to read your post, so glad that the posts on CC is what led you to trying ecigs. Happy to hear you like your 510. It is so much fun to be able to vape on the cruise ships .. especially in places that we never could before, teehee.

Hi Sallie, it is the most wonderful feeling to know you helped someone else learn and convert to ecigs, isnt it? Loved reading about the huge impact you made on the cruise. We're on a cruise in So America in a few months, maybe I'll run into some of your ecig ecig users there :)

Just got off the Monarch, and we vaped everywhere. Funniest thing that happened was that we always seemed to have 1-2 batts charging in the stateroom, and on one evening of the cruise, we ran into our cabin steward while he was cleaning our stateroom, and he asked us what those weird things were that were always in the outlets. After we demonstrated for him, he had to show all the other stewards, so every time he saw us after that, he'd grab another cabin steward so we could demo for them as well.

My husband and I cruise 6-7 times a year and I've been an e-cig user for the last year and a half. So far no problems on the ships and we've been on Celebrity, Carnival, Norwegian and Holland. We've got one coming up on the Valor 2 weeks from Sunday, another booked for Jan. and another in April....can anyone say "addicted".

Anyway, we've only seen 2 other people on a cruise vaping...the captain on the Pride came up to us in the casino one night and said, "I use an e-cig also". I asked him what Carnival's stance was on their use in non-smoking areas and he said there were no restrictions....fine if we used them in the lounge, non-smoking areas of the casino, etc. We don't use them in the main dining room out of respect for other diners. The other person we met was a comedian performing on the Holland ship. He'd run out of e-liquid several weeks ago and was vaping water....I gave him some of the liquid I'd brought with me.

We also bring them on the plane and I've been known to stealth vape.

I'm popsec on CC~Linda~

I think I was talking with you guys on Cruise Critic forum. I'm cruising maniac. Isn't it funny how negative people can be about e-cigs. I can't believe the ignorance. However, I think that a few people came away enlightened and interested. Some saying that it smells bad and worried that the nicotine will linger and hurt the room steward. Is it better to go to the guest services desk and explain vaping for approval or just go for it and see what happens? Also, people saying they would know if someone was vaping on their balcony because they would smell it. They would be lucky if they could smell my wonderful TV vapor. I absolutely will not go to the smoking section to vape. Can't stand being around smoke. I'm sailing on Celebrity in 3 weeks and I'll let you know how it goes.

I'd never ask guest services for permission to use my e-cig! Since there's absolutely no odor there's no reason to worry about it in your cabin or balcony. Remember, you're NOT smoking! We've always left all our battery chargers and paraphanalia (sp?) laying around the cabin. As far as the public areas go I've learned to stealth vape so no one ever realizes I'm doing it if I'm in an area where it might cause a problem. Most always people are just curious and want to know more about it. Hope you have an awesome cruise and can't wait to hear how you make out with your e-cig....do be sure to come back on and post. We leave on a cruise a week from Sunday....Carnival valor for 7 days.....yahoo!

We are the proud parents of 3 southern flying squirrels. Absolutely amazing, active, sweet, nocturnal little animals. That squirrel is "Buddy". He fell out of our oak tree a few years ago and he was only about one month old. Google them. Have a fantastic time on your cruise. Let us know how it goes. I hope the caribbean calms down some. Been active down there in the past month. We sailed all around a hurricane in 1996 and it wasn't much fun. Travel safe.
