I normally receive mail from Cali in 4 days, sometimes 5 if a shipment is a weird time.

2015-02-12 14.01.28.jpg

Missing for 17 days with no scans, 3 case file numbers, a consumer affairs case number, called every other day as they kept closing my case numbers without actually doing anything, then poof! Magically my mail lady delivers it.

I just wanted my damn coiler. I already had to wait for the preorder....

And to make it worse, I ordered from China three days after this was mailed and guess which one arrived on the 7th? Really? ChinaPost is faster than USPS?!

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. They sound very similar to mine, except for the happy ending where the mail carrier delivers it. :mail:

Yeah, I got lucky. A friend of mine drives trucks that are contracted to haul mail. He told me a story one time about a trucker of theirs who spotted a mail trailer that wasn't hooked up to a truck. The trailer was dumped in the back of an old shut down Lowe's and had been there at least a couple years judging from the plant growth. When they got it back to the mail yard and cracked it open, they found a whole shipment of Christmas packages from four years prior. That's a lot of unhappy kids on Christmas.

Firestorm, I hope they find your truck.:vapor:

The other trick that USPS is pulling is not scanning items for tracking...

I had some gear shipped USPS Priority mail 2 Day, it took 4 days, but beyond that was only scanned once for tracking....

I am starting to loose all faith in USPS

If you read the fine print, the USPS no longer guarantees delivery within a certain time frame.

Good points. I didn't know all that. But how are they possibly struggling financially then? Is it because of bloated pensions?

A combination of sweet pension plans AND the requirement from the federal government that its pension obligations be prefunded (they have to have the money set aside today to pay for all their future payments). This prefunding doesn't just cover current USPS employees, but future ones as well.

The Truth About The Post Office's Financial Mess.

The USPS is the only "government employer" that the federal government requires pre-funding. The federal government doesn't even require this of itself for other government employees. And look at the social security trust fund. The federal government "borrows" all of the social security taxes we pay in to cover its expenses and replaces it with government bonds.

Meh....in all my time using the USPS, I've had only about two legitimate issues. I don't know of any other service I use on a daily basis that is as reliable on the whole. Certainly no other government services that I can think of.

While it's an inconvenience once in a while to get a delay like this.....when I put it into perspective we have a pretty reliable post office. I have NEVER had a piece of mail lost completely. Not one single time. Guess I should consider myself lucky.

That said, I'm currently waiting on a UPS box that was delayed an extra four days because of the winter weather. I'm disappointed...but it's not like it's insulin or something I rely on to keep me alive. It's a mattress.

My Vape mail from China appears will be delayed at least 4 weeks after the 4 weeks I've already waited. I thought for sure by ordering a month before the Chinese holiday I had given it plenty of lead time. Just a comparison.

I had some stuff coming today. Tracking said it would be here today. I did not have high hopes since it was coming from the north and with the weather and all. So I check the tracking today and it shows it left the north. OK that is fine. Later as I checked another number I took a look at this particular one. It said delivered but to a box in Indiana. OK that is odd. Not the first time I have seen something weird like that. Go get the mail cause my other package said it did deliver to my box in Houston. Low and behold I had both packages in the box. Weird! Lol

Came home from the inlaws expecting vape mail. It left Charlotte, NC last night so it should have showed up today in Charleston, SC and been in my mailbox in time for delivery, but no update today. Weather in both areas was pretty nice today, so that's not an excuse. Damn you USPS at least give me an update saying it made it somewhere!

Ive noticed some real slacking lately from USPS. When I first started vapinh in Oct/14 I would get everything in 4 days max if ordered in the sstates a week for international orders. Now my national orders are taking 7-10 business days most of the time. Half the time they will still be at the orgin when I get them. Ive been waiting 11 day now for a single 100ft roll of Nichrome, been sittjng in florida for 9 of them.

Really frustrating and ends up making me spend more money if Im waiting on juice, wire or cotton. I order when Im low expecting to be good before I run out. Ill go to the B&M pick up supplies when Im out and it never fails that the package arrives in a day or 2.

I had ordered some juice from Vape Dudes in Texas. The tracking showed that it left the post office in Texas on Feb 20 with an expected delivery date of Feb 23 (this past Monday). Monday came and gone, no update until this morning. Now the package shows that it arrived in Rhode Island today, with no updated delivery date. My guess is it will finally show up at my door by next Wednesday or Thursday.

Welcome to my world. I am in transportation and deal with this issue multiple times a day. USPS has taken on some additional challenges that has increased their profitability (shipping freight for other carriers like Roadway etc, as well as delivering packages for UPS). By them taking on these new responsibilities their service went from 96% on time to 94% on time which in the Transportation/Logistics community is a HUGE hit.
