I ordered some brass metric screws to replace the SS screw in my MicroStick from eBay at the end of January. The package shipped from China and took four days to reach the US. It cleared through customs in a day, left San Francisco, and then I received no tracking updates for over two weeks. I called USPS customer support and opened a case at the end of February. I received a call from USPS yesterday from a nice gentleman who explained that it could be in a cargo container and it might be crossing the US on a truck and it could take a while - I didn't get any worthwhile information but it was nice to get a call.

Last night I saw that there was a tracking update and that my package arrived in Texas. This morning tracking showed an estimated delivery date of today, that didn't seem feasible to me. Now tracking shows that it's out for delivery in Kingwood, TX. You would think that this is good news, right? Wrong - I live in Illinois.

I just got off the phone with USPS and opened another case. I actually ordered another set of screws from the same seller when I had no tracking updates (they only cost about $3). Perhaps I'll receive the second package before the first (if I ever do receive the first package).

BTW - I finally did get my package that was caught in a mail loop that I posted about previously. I don't know what finally happened to get it resolved, but I did manage to talk to someone at the post office across the street from the sorting facility that kept sending it the other way who offered to help me out. Fortunately, I was able to send it via DHL (for the same price that USPS charged me to hold my package hostage for six months) and it is now in the receiving country.

Right now, this is me:

It *shipped* on the 9th -- 22 days ago. God knows if it got stuck in a black hole during their interminable new years thing. They said it was "registered airmail". The only way airmail takes 22+ days is if it's coming from Mars, not China!

FedEx must be taking lessons from the postal service. Overnight and Saturday delivery just to find this on the FedEx tracking. FWIW, Dubois, PA to me is at least a 2 hour drive. No way it could have been in Dubois at 7:07 am and then in Bradford, PA at 7:48 am.

So I finally called FedEx to give them a chance to explain how a driver could travel 72 miles in 32 minutes and determine that the business was closed. They informed me that the FedEx office in question is closed today. Hmmm, how did it get placed on a truck and get listed as "out for delivery" at 7:16 this morning? Then it was given a "delivery exception" because the business it is being delivered to is closed at 7:48. Seems like a lot of activity for an office that is closed. Regardless, Amazon promised me delivery by 8pm tonight after shipping me with wrong item yesterday. I give up. I guess I am going to load up the kids tomorrow and find a store that has some decent 18650 batteries.

Just coming in here to vent on USPS as well. My vaporshark package has been in NYC since thursday, according to the site scheduled delivery date was yesterday. Didn't get it today either... like, really guys?
My most recent order from Wizard labs was scheduled for Wednesday, after the package was sorted about 2hrs away from me it decided to stay in that post office for 45 hours before being delivered two days late and stuffed in my mailbox... I used to never have USPS problems, blah!

I ordered my IPV mini from eciggity, and paid extra for the priority mail. It actually arrived on time…I got an email saying that it had been delivered, so I trotted down to the post office all happy and checked my box..nothing. No key to a package box, no yellow slip. It wasn't the first time, though, that I've had a package at the counter but nothing in the box, so I went to the counter to ask for it. The woman behind the counter couldn't find it. I told her I had a tracking number that stated my package had been delivered, and showed it to her on my phone. She got a look on her face like a monkey trying to do differential equations, and called a supervisor. His attitude, demeanor, and level of expertise made me think that they'd gone out into the parking lot, found the nearest hobo, gave him a dress shirt and a nametag and said "Here, buddy, run this post office!"

He couldn't find it. Finally, some lady stuck her head out and said "Oh, I put her package in locker 96!" So the "supervisor" used his master key to open locker 96…and there was a package addressed to someone else. And then, he broke the door on the package locker and couldn't get it back on. By that point, I could tell that he was trying really hard to blow me off. I kept insisting that I had a tracking number showing that the package had been delivered, (they only show delivered after the final scan, right before they get put in your box) and that he had better find my mail because I wasn't leaving without it.

Fifteen minutes later, after he disappeared into the back and banged around a while, he found my package. IN SOMEONE ELSE'S PO BOX. Yeah, maybe that person would have been honest, and turned it in as misdelivered, and I would have just had to wait a few days till they sorted it out. But that's not too likely, around here. It is more likely that the post idiots would have lost my 60 dollar mod forever, and I would have been SOL.

Now I have an estimated delivery of Tuesday? Amazon.com is gonna eat this one. First they sent me the wrong batteries. Then they one day shipped the right batteries (we'll see). Now FedEx is screwing up their attempt to fix it. I told FedEx to not even bother delivering it. When it shows up I am going to refuse delivery.
