are you sure that you have the instructions on the Blade Mechanical Slide mod correct?
"holds 1-18650 or 1-18350 by removing the top adding one spacer nipple pointing DOWN, then the 18650 and the remaining spacer nipple facing UP."
besides the typo (underlined above) wouldn't this short out?

Typo, thank you,. that should be 18350 :(

UPDATE

I am taking the spacers out of the package and not selling them with the kit, it is far far too easy for someone to put them in wrong and start a fire or at the very least melt their batteries and burn their hands, I am not taking the risk of this hurting someone, it is no longer being offered with the spacers. This is a not well thought out solution to use a smaller battery from this manufacturer.

I understand you reason for taking them out of the kit. But If you put both spacers on one side of the battery it shouldn't short.

You are of course correct but all it takes is one person not reading the directions or thinking he or she knows what she is doing.
I almost melted a battery testing it. I do not consider myself new to this kind of thing, although I am sometimes dense.. and we all have dense moments.

it's not well thought out at all in my opinion.

I would not be able to sleep seriously.. I wouldn't. I am very glad I did not wait until morning to fully test this thing. Thanks for pointing out the typo and getting me down this path, I owe you a discount on your next order.. seriously.. email me and remind me.. don't be shy about it, this was VERY helpful.

EDIT: Lol I just noticed you ordered one. Your order is FREE tonight, I am refunding your payment and still shipping the order.

Hello Eric. Is the DV CE5 tube made from the same crack resistant plastic as the DV CE4+? And, if yes, are the CE5 colors crack resistant as well? I need to purchase some clearos sooner or later for my sister, and they need to be simple and crack resistant. So...I'm open to suggestions if you have anything to add (other than the CE3, I think she would not do well with it). TIA

For those who have mechanical mods,

Do you use some form of battery protection? 2cent fuse, protected battery?

i use a vape safe in my bolt, nice to have a little extra protection. some mods have battery springs that collapse if a short happens.
would be nice to see a replaceable fuse in mech mod.

I just ordered some of these (had to go elsewhere...I should post that in his "what are you buying thread...). It just seems good to have one more layer of protection, especially in a new unfamiliar device.

Just so you all know, I was going to carry the vapesafe but the purchase price for me was just about the same as you can get them at other vendors. It was a bummer :(
That is a bummer. I only own one mech mod, so I don't need a billion of them. You're still my first go-to:)

I do use them in my mechanical mods with protected batteries. My mods are subjected to conditions that the average person's may not be (dropping, water, etc). I haven't felt the need to use them in my VV/VW devices that have it built in, and put high drain batts in those and only use them at home. It's a personal preference thing, like any other insurance.

Even after all this time vaping I am still just a bit confused as to what ohm's work best with what battery strength.

For both hubby and me our favorite JDD is the simple CE3. Up until now the ones we use are the 2.4-2.6. We occasionally get the burnt taste. 'specially hubby. His go to device is his Go-Go tube mod w/18650 battery. Would it be better to use the 3.0-3.2 ohm?
