Desperate novice in need of some guidance! :)

Hey all,

I recently purchased an eGo-S from an American distributor known as Vapure. In actuality it was claimed by the site to be an eGo-T, and came with two devices complete with cartons, atomizers, and batteries. I created a ticket with the distributor to explain it wasn't the product I ordered only responded with a meager attempt to explain that it was actually the product I ordered. One of the devices works... decent, and the other leaks horribly. After opening another ticket, fairly formally mannered, it was instantly shot down for whatever reason.

I'm laughably inexperienced when it comes to this eCig business, but regardless, it has helped me quit smoking, and I'm just hoping you all on the forum can provide me with some insight towards a solid eCig device to help me. Thank you all, very much for your enlightenment. I'm very, very new at this, so and information, to me at least, is just helping me create an awareness for shoddy products, etc.

I started out with the ego T a couple years ago I liked a whole lot but mine leaked every now and then as well does yours use the small plastic tanks you drip the fluid in? I always troubles with those buggers

Can you take some pictures? All I see there is Ego-C and Ego-M. Need to know what kind of thing you got that's leaking.

So, are you asking for advice for a new setup, or are you happy with your current batteries and looking for a better tank to use on the batteries?

An upgrade in batteries would be either the Spinner or Twist variable voltage Ego batteries.

For the toppers, there's a variety of clearomizers that work equally well: Aspire CE4 or Vivi Nova, Kanger Evods & Protanks, Innokin iClear 16 or 30.

You're off to a reasonable start, the eGo batteries are a great starter power source, fair battery life, rugged and simple to use. The toppers you screw onto them are nearly endless, and the source of endless tweaking, quality control problems.

I use and prefer a Vision brand Vivi-Nova (knock-offs seem to have problems from what I read), others prefer the evod or pro-tank as a starter (I prefer top coil rigs, to each their own), cartos, and carto tanks also have a following for ease of use and improved flavor.

Trying one or two of a style would allow you to try each to see which YOU prefer, wthout breaking the bank...

The ego s kits come with ego t battery's. The clears mixers that come with that kit are not the greatest. Buy a couple evods or MT3S's and you will get better performance with no leaks.

Baditude and Stosh gave you very good advice. I'll add that I started with a Vision spinner (1300mah) and a regular and mini protank II. I've since added a MVP2 (2600mah) and Kayfun Lite clone (I don't recommend that until you learn to rebuild coils, have an ohm meter, etc). Everything else I'm very happy with and would buy again if I had it all to do over again.

That looks to be an evod or a knock off for the topper. When you say leak is it just a drop or 2 in the well on the battery or is it a flood? A drop or two is normal, the airflow in them is thru the coil head so it's not a completely sealed system.
The most common reason for larger leaks on them is the coil head coming loose. Check and make sure yours hasn't worked itself loose.

You want the head in tight, the base on tight, and when attaching to the battery tighten just until you feel resistance then another 1/4 to 1/2 a turn. To far and you will have airflow problems or push the battery post in to far which will cause firing problems.

And sorry I didn't specify, the leakage I meant it more of a full-bore onslaught of wasted liquid. I would say that almost every single drank(the incredibly flawed one more specifically) results in half a dozen drops I need to wipe out with a tissue. Not only that, but I've found that I sometime have residue on my hands just from handling the thing, I think it leaks out from where the silver ringed mechanism is placed, and I've tried tightening up the whole works.

Check the coil unit for tightness as was suggested. Don't try to fix it by overtightening the tank onto the battery - badness can happen if it's more than finger tight.

You're already miles ahead with your setup - much better than the cig-alikes. The upgrade to a twist or spinner (gives you variable voltage to dial in the vape intensity, more or less) is a good suggestion.

Ten bucks says you'll be looking for something even more advanced in the future - happens to most of us - but the first step is to get vaping solidified as your 'thing' instead of smoking. In a short time (if not already) you will come to reject the notion of ever picking up an analog cigarette again... and that is what is important. If it becomes a hobby for you, you'll have plenty of options to tinker with or collect or covet. All in good time. Vape on.

We all know what it's like to have issues with equipment that's new to us. Many know the frustration of trying to sort it out will wanting a nic fix .

You said you thought it might be leaking around the coil. Have you check that the O ring on the coil meets up with the base is smoth and not kinked or twisted over? Check the one on the base that attachs to the tank also.

For your leakage, when you remove the bottom piece to fill, check the O-rings, there's a couple for any nicks or deformation. They are responsible for keeping the juice inside, and small defects could cause major leaks.
