So that's a yes, then? :)

What is shown on screen during a live TC vape? I assume it live updates the temperature, does it also live update the ohms and watts?

The manual suggests it might not live update the resistance because it says "at end of vape" but it also says "including temperature dependent increase", so not clear if that just means you see the ending resistance of the coil, or if it updates all throughout. I assume the former, which isn't the best but is better than nothing - at least it means you can see the end resistance so you can tell how much the coil rose by as a result of being heated to temperature X (assuming the temperature display is also the end temp.)
Yeah, first pic is the stacked 18650s
Someone else needs to chime in on the TC questions ;)

I have the 2380 t. Just realized that one tube was telescopic. I have all the parts to go dual 18650. Dang it feels like a deadly weapon. For 1 18650 I just use the telescopic tube with the smaller one in order to not have the gap look. I'm liking this mod more and more. Now that I know what all the menu options do, this is very easy to use. More like a set it and forget it. I actually like how the screen isn't on all the time. Love the options to go smaller with an 18350. After going back to kanthal after so many ni200 coils, I think I'm falling in love with kanthal again. The taste is much better on a micro coil. It also seems like my ni200 coils gunk up and taste nasty at the end of every day. This just keeps on with the awesome taste.

I ordered my extension tube today from Greek Mods, and the Elprinz, and also these:

foil_pouch_new_large.jpg

They were a good price on Greek, slightly cheaper than they are in the UK on eBay or Amazon.

The Amazon reviews rave about them - you can use them to get light scratches and any kind of marks off of stainless steel, brass, and loads of other metals. People on Amazon are talking about using them to clean up old, expensive watches (Rolex, Breitling) to "good as new" - for £4.50!

So I figured they were a good, and reasonalby priced insurance policy for my new expensive stainless steel mod - and potentially some attys.

There's two cloths in that pack, and apparently they're re-usable - though I assume not for a huge amount of time, so I will only take one out when I have two or three devices to clean up. They also sell packs of 12 cloths but that's about £15 - much cheaper than buying 6x dual packs but I wanted to see what they're like, first. If they're good I'll buy a 12 pack from the UK.

I got a user in the german forum to try using his 2380 in Fahrenheit mode and he confirmed that it works for him as expected, including TempDown. So either there is a new software version or there simply some units out there that don't work.
I wouldn't know what to do either, having used a DNA40 in Fahrenheit since November I never really missed Celsius, it's all just numbers ;)

Looks like my 2380 might be here tomorrow. It arrived at the National depot two hours ago, and when I bought my Resistherm wire it arrived the day after that step - though in that case it did arrive at the depot several hours earlier in the day.

As I bought it from Germany I suppose it has the highest chance of being latest revision. When did you guys with faulty Fahrenheit 2380s buy them? Pretty recently? In which case mine is surely going to be the same batch.

Couple weeks ago? It was recent.

Sorry guys, seems that this was a misunderstanding. A bit later he stated having the same problems with Fahrenheit than everyone else here. However, he's still insisting that TempDown works for him.

I played around with Fahrenheit this evening a bit more and it seems like the offset between the set temperature and what the mod is regulating at is pretty much at +30F, e.g. you set for 400F and the mod regulates at around 430F. So as F = C*1,8 + 32 I think it's clear were the error originates ..

I guess you could be using TC in Fahrenheit if you keep the +30F offset in mind when setting the temperature (that is, set it 30F below what you want to vape at..) and only use TempUp to adjust temperature. But that's certainly not what you want to do with a 300€ mod.

there's two problems with Fahrenheit? TempDown doesn't work (so one must scroll always up, through TempUp only?) and it's 30°F out on the temperature?
That sums it up, yep. So far the offset bug was confirmed in all cases, while some users stated they don't have the TempDown problem.
I only have my Pipeline Pro2 to test and it has both bugs in Fahrenheit.

So it's not reserved for the 2380, all the new temp cobtrol Dicodes have the Fahrenheit issue. At least they screwed up across the board...I know it shouldn't, but it does make me feel a little better

So "if I can't have it, NO-ONE CAN HAVE IT!!!!" ? :)

It's not great news because it does mean a fix is probably not coming immediately - it's at the least not a problem introduced with a single revision of one mod, but something that's probably been there since day 1. Not that it should be at all hard to fix, but it very likely means it hasn't yet been fixed at least. If it was just 2380 there was always a chance it was a problem in one batch that they might quickly fix in the next.

Oh well, it is what it is!

Guys, what can you tell me about 18350 and 18500 batteries? Any recommendations? Looking around all I really see are AW and EFest. And the AWs all seem to be button tops - can you guys verify if 2xbutton top would fit? Or I suppose they're more likely to fit in your telescopes, damn you :) Any idea if they would in the fixed-tube version? Is there adjustability on the battery contacts?

Though actually the AW 18500 is actually an 18490 so I assume + button that's basically an 18500 anyway.

I'm also not sure on amps, do 18350s even have high enough amps to be run singly? Maybe only 2x18350 or 2x18500 is usable because of the low amps - at least in the case of 18350. I'm seeing max amps for the 18350s of around 6A. Best amps I'm finding for 18500s is 16.5A for an AW 18490/18500.

You've tried all the batteries right @dems86 , which are you using?

Got an email from ukecig store. They want me to send the mod back. I don't know if I want to though... Am I bothered that the mod is flawed considering how much I spent? Yes, do I care if I have to use it in Celsius? No. I dunno what I want to do [emoji19]

In your shoes, if I was considering returning it, I would want 100% confirmation from ECig Store that they have a fixed unit to replace it with immediately. They might have given you a generic "return it to us and we'll look at it" without actually having a fixed unit to replace it with or even knowing how it will be fixed. Worst case you return it, and a week after receiving it they say "yup, you're right! We'll keep it until Dicodes send us a fix, not sure when that will be."

Hopefully that is worst case, because it's unlikely to be the first they've heard of it, so they may well be saying that in the expectation of knowing how to fix it. But i would want 100% confirmation, particularly in light of our now knowing it's a problem across the range and so must have been there for a little while.

I'd tell ECig that I now know it affects all Dicodes chips, and ask them if they have already been told by Dicodes it will be replaced/fixed and if so, how long will that take after return?

The whole thing is made worse in your case because you're in the US, returning to a UK supplier, who then has to return to Germany. The very best case is that at the time they receive yours they already have fixed units from Dicodes to swap for, but that's unlikely.

More likely is you send it over taking 1-2 weeks, they take 3 days to 'check' it, then they send it to Germany which takes 3-4 days, then they wait 3 days for Dicodes to check it, then it takes 3-4 days to arrive back from Dicodes, then it takes 1-2 weeks for that to reach you. Which could be six weeks total!

Have they already confirmed that they will pay your postage costs in returning it to them, if you did?
